Once upon a time there was a Beth. She was very cool and evil, and one day she stumbled across a seed on the ground. The small seed sparked an intense curiosity within her soul, reviving some indescribable force buried deep within her. As she leaned down to inspect the seed, admiring its curvature, she heard a strange noise that sent chills down her spine.

Slowly and cautiously, Beth turned her head, dreading whatever it is she was about to face. But as she turned, she saw nothing. The air was empty, rife with nothing but the yawning of the cool, midday breeze. She soon turned back to the seed, lying there on the ground, holy and defenseless. Beth extended her finger, reaching out to the small seed as a god would to his creation. Time seemed to slow as her hand inched closer, until she finally felt the weather worn grooves of the carmel coloured seed beneath her fingertip. As she picked it up, Beth noticed that the seed was not a seed at all. It was an almond.

As this realization struck her, so did a flock of crows, each one of them squawking incessantly as they pecked at her with their razor thin beaks. Beth lifted her arms over her head to shield herself from the birdy barrage, curling up as small as she possibly could so they wouldn't fucking get her. Hours seemed to go by as Beth clamped her eyes shut, the birds never ceasing their malicious attack.

Just as she thought the worst of it was over, the sound of laughter penetrated the caws that pierced her eardrums. Cautiously, Beth squinted her eyes open. Through the mass of black feathers, she could make out a singular shape. An imposing figure making its way towards the ground where she lay. As they drew closer, they began to raise their arms menacingly. Something about this presence caused the birds to freeze, one by one making their way over to where the figure stood and perching upon its outstretched arms.

As the crows left, Beth could see the figure clearly as he stood mere feet away from her.
