okay so without even having to thinki about it, you know Laurent would be paediatrician

KIDS ADORE HIM

which, you know, same kids, SAME

he’s just so good with them, patient and soft and funny and reassuring

Laurent is so safe for children

parents are fighting to get appointments with him

mothers cook him pies and chocolate cakes and olive bread

fathers keep trying to invite him to go bowling or fishing

he and auguste have a practice

Auguste is a GP and the most wanted bachelor of the city

Laurent… well Laurent is all about work

he also help fund a charity for abused kids

no one knows that Auguste almost killed their uncle when he discovered that he was sexually abusing his lil brother

no one knows how strong Laurent really is

Nicaise is the head nurse

when parents are too pushy, he’s the one who deals with them

the practice is prospering and Laurent brings in talks of expanding

Auguste knows the perfect guy 

he’s a surgeon but he specialises in paediatrics

you guessed it, it’s Damen

of course at first it’s just a trial, and Damen works more at the hospital than at the practice

but the first time Laurent and Damen meet, Laurent is in /scrubs/ and Damen is in a /suit/ without a tie and when they see each other they literally freeze and stare at each other for a long, long while

but to be fair: laurent is in SCRUBS and damen is wearing a SUIT

like…. it’s a miracle it doesn’t end up with them banging in a closet

Laurent, the dramatic hoe that he is, can’t fathom the way he reacts to this soft giant 

like his heart moves in his chest?????? WTF??????

he’s sweating…. like CHILL LAURENT

so of course he avoids Damen as much as possible

he even tries to convince Auguste to find someone else but Auguste sees right through him. Besides, Damen is loved by everyone. He’s an amazing doctor and the patients are very happy

And Auguste won’t allow Laurent to take on so much work alone anymore, they need the help

And it would be good for Laurent to have a bit of free time… have fun

Lauren’t does NOT appreciate his brother’s tone and so pours salt into his coffee the next morning

Damen is patient and charming and he’s not pushy, if Laurent doesn’t want to spend time with him, he’s okay with that… he can wait

He wants… well he wants for things to be different but he sees the cautious way Laurent looks at him and he knows from bits and pieces told by Auguste that Laurent has a hard time trusting people. Especially men.

and then one time, Laurent’s favourite patient is in need of surgery and so he and Damen start spending time together for the sake of the lil cutie

and Laurent’s astounded to see that he and Damen work AMAZINGLY together

so much so that he starts seeking him out and finds Damen’s counsel to be very valuable

and they start spending late nights together at the office, long after the nurses and AUguste have gone home

sharing meals, getting to know each other, consulting each other on difficult cases… and sometimes not even that difficult

Nicaise, the lil shit, won’t shut up about Laurent blushing every time Damen comes in

and LAURENT!!!!! miskin wallahi!!!!! he doesn’t stand a chance

they’re alone one night, damen’s rolled up his sleeves and taken off his shoes, his hair is a mess and he smiling softly at Laurent

he’s so beautoful and hot and kind and lovely… it’s UNFAIR

and Laurent can’t stop looking at his dimple… it’s so…. cute… fuck

and without thinking about it, he leans forward and kisses it, a soft brush of lips over Damen’s dimple

he startles back, already blushing, an apology frozen on his tongue, but Damen grabs his collar and pulls him back

“yes” he whispers to Laurent, eyes warm and excited and soft and Laurent feels safe and happy so he leans forward and kisses Damen

Damen sighs like he’s been waiting for this forever, like he doesn’t want to move from this moment, like they were meant to be  doing this and nothing else
