āHurt By Fire, Heal By Fireā Is Complete!!!
Iāve just uploaded the last chapter of my first Super Mario Bros chaptered story on Archive Of Our Own. I feel so accomplished! Thank you to those who left feedback, kudos and/or bookmarks on this gem throughout this creative process. More feedback in the final chapter will be much appreciated as Iād like to see where my writing stands.
How did I get the inspiration for this story? This is how:
First the Fire Flower Fields has to be my most favourite place portrayed in the film and I was so taken back by the warmth and beauty of this placeā¦and seeing Princess Peach in her Fire Flower form is quite an ethereally beautiful sight. However I felt a bit cheated in seeing neither Mario or Luigi got a chance to use itā¦
Mario saving Luigi from falling into a boiling lake of lava had me edging in my seat with suspense and then happy cheers at how truly ecstatic they are in their reunion. This scene never fails to warm my heart and be so emotionally invested for both of them to finally be together as they should be. It also helps that they are just so tender with each otherā¦that forehead nuzzle was so sweet and reaffirming.
And finallyā¦Luigi returning the favour by saving Mario from Bowserās fire. I have to honestā¦I did not expect this! I was gasping with amazement when the camera panned back to see Luigi holding up that heavy manhole cover to protect his brother, repaying him for all the protection and love bestowed upon himā¦
Inspired by these sources, I began to see fire as a source of trauma and healing for both brothers as I believed that there is no way they came out of their first adventure unscathedā¦put Bowser in and everything else sort of fell into placeā¦and here you goā¦
