Man, your parents named you that? They must be pretty stupid. No wonder you hate humanity.
You can't fuck up your lines while I'm killing myself, it ruins the dramatic tension.
I'm still a touch sick and am taking comfort in writing things where I don't have to draw backgrounds. Does anyone else also habitually draw characters as left handed? It just works so much better for left -> right reading order.

âEhhh, ya do realize thatâs itâs in my nature to like⌠give everyone a chance?â Magolor shrugs. âJust like that?â Meta Knight was confused, and surprised that his apology was⌠just accepted. Magolor seems to have sensed his confusion. But what was more notable was how he reacted to the flowerbed they were on.
âYa know..â Magolor yanks the knight off the flowerbed. âLetâs chit-talk as we go.â He says, a mournful look on his face. âAnd hopefully not defile a grave.â
Meta blinks, slightly adjusting his mask to see better. âWait..â he glanced at the field. âA GR-â
He was hushed immediately by a hand and a twitch of Magolorâs ears. âHush.. I hear a certain nuisance.â
Sure enough, there was a sound. One that Meta soon discerned to be a menacing voice.
âYou idiot. In this world, itâs kill or be killed! Why would ANYONE pass up an opportunity like this?!â
Magolor grumbles. He sped up, forcing Meta to follow.
âHey, dumbass!â He calls out as soon as he enters the archway, Meta trailing behind. âWhat did I say about what Iâll do when I see you tormenting someone again?!â
Meta Knight knew this will end badly. He just did. Now, donât get him wrong, his Magolorâs anger was justified, despite him not knowing where they were or who was that, the whole torment was only for those whoâd deserve it.
At least thatâs how heâll counter it, but once he saw what was going on, Meta Knight thought that maybe the human who looks too weak mustâve disturbed the⌠talking flower???
That was certainly a puzzling thing.
Although Magolor and the other being, a tall bipedal goat?, knew what must have happened, because the goat just⌠healed the human, while Magsi- err, Magolor, he corrects himself mentally, had fired a Gem Apple Bomb on the flower, lit by thr goat beingâs magic.
thereâs swears but itâs replaced with fack (not that it changes it much but-) but I didnât mute dumbass so ya
TW: mentioned manipulation
Wet Grass
âMagolor.â
âM?â Said mage was at the control station, figuring and somewhat solving the currently still broken and crash landed Lor to the best of his capabilities.
I mean, of course he knew how, this was his ship after all! Totally!
âYo hey- what up Meta Knight!â His ear flicked when he heard him approach, glancing over. âThough you were with the others collecting those energy spheres?â
The star warrior hummed at the earlier goal. âWeâve decided to take a break. After painstakingly finding ten of those spheres, we settled outside on the grass, using the Lor for shade.â
The stranded traveler snickered. âCoulda just said yâall were on break.â
Meta Knights eyes flickered a color Magolor didnât get to recognize quickly as the knight glanced away, forcing himself to hold back another snicker at the realization that the other seemed embarrassed.Â
âMy apologies, I am rather used to speaking in depth.â
âHaha-! No need to worry, I find it intriguing and amusing!â They were about to direct their focus back to the computer when he passed in thought. âYou guys want to rest in here? Itâs no completely comfortable lounge but itâs not on the dirt outside.â
Meta Knight shook his head. âNo, we are well and comfortable outside. And the grass is particularly fresh at this time of year with all the rain.â
âIs there a difference?â Magolor found himself thinking as he tried to differentiate grass from wet grass. Though to be fair he doesnât exactly have wet grass in Halacandra, especially not now.
ââŚCare to join us?â
The mages ears perked up at the idea, but shook his head. âOh, thank ya but I need to fix the Lor, I still wanna get back home after all!â
âYouâve been here since weâve first found you, have you even gone out at all?â The masks knight inquired.
ââŚNo- BUT this is something I need to get done! What if something happens to her if Iâm not looking?â
âHer?â
âThe Lor dumbass.â
âI-I know-â The other sighed, taking a deep breath. âBack to the point, you should atleast get rest Magolor, and not just with sleep. Iâm sure becoming stranded here has been quite stressful for you, and while weâve been doing the heavy lifting you yourself need to step back and rest as well.â
âWay to turn a concern for my well being into a speech.â
They paused, letting out a quiet sigh. ââŚ. Fine. But only for a moment! I donât want anything bad happening!!â
Meta Knight offered his gloved hand to Magolor, the cat-like alien glancing at it.
âI can assure you, your ship will be safe in the grasslands.â
They stood there for a hot second, Magolor hesitantly taking his hand as he was led out by the brave knight. âWhy did I hesitate? Itâs standard hand guiding!â
The mage let out a small hiss at the sudden light of the sun, further evidence that their new friend needed to touch some grass. He glared at Meta Knight for obviously holding back a chuckle, or well, only he noticed it because his hand shook in a subtle rhythm.Â
He looked around at the world around him, wanting to look anywhere but the sun nor the warrior ahead of him. He noticed the soft grass, the tall trees, subtle colorful spots of flowers, a mountain in the distance, it was certainly different compared to Halacandra. He swears he only got used to extreme heat thanks to that ovenâŚ
âHaa! Mahgie!!â
Magolor looked over, feeling Meta Knightâs hand slip away (ignoring the feeling of missing it)Â and watching as Kirby waved him over, smiling at his three friends in the grass and shade. King Dedede was fully relaxed in the shade, only cracking an eye open to see him, smile then wave. Bandanna he dared to assume was asleep in the plush grass while Kirby smiled towards him, simply sitting in it.
The traveler walked over while the knight as they both sat in the grass next to each other, Kirby happily chirping his new found nickname as if it were his favorite word.
âMahgie! Mahgie! Mahgie-!â
He couldnât help but laugh, feeling the puffballs starry eyes on him as he did.Â
âHi Kirby!â
Magolor watched as Kirby giggled in return, soon changing his attention to King Dedede. He jumped and pounced on the kings stomach, shouting âcomfyy!,â as said king gasped sharply at the sudden landing in his gut, hand slamming into anything but the wet grass Bandanna Waddle Dee was squishing by his firm hand. Between Kirbyâs giggling, Dededeâs gasping and Bandannas squirming and panicked âWanya-!âs, Magolor was having a blast with this performance, hearing chuckling from beside him as well.
While the three pretty much experienced a thrash of many things at once, Magolor noticed Meta Knight leaning back into the grass, staring at the bright blue sky with a soft, content sigh. The mage followed suit as he laid back into the grass more carefully, shivering as felt the unfamiliar feeling of squishy wet grass against his back, a rather new feeling. He groaned as he covered his eyes, still not on good terms with the sun, even if most of it was blocked by a tree.Â
Meta Knightâs eyes trailed every cloud, gazing enough that the could see a few bright stars in the sky, a thought crossing his mind as he spoke softly. âThink weâre able to see your home from here?â
Magolor didnât even spare a glance upward. âNah- Halacandra is so far away weâd need to use the Lor and her special portal magic thingy.â
The knight raised a brow, but nodded.
âThat is quite far indeed. Is that how you got here?â
âMhm!â
âWhat was your purpose for traveling here if I may ask? Especially while in such bad shape?â He inquired once more, looking over to him.
The traveler paused, shrugging. âEh, just got caught up in something I wasnât a part of.â
âMmmâŚ. Understandable.â
The two laid there, Magolor becoming more relaxed as he soon realized why they like their wet grass so much.
â⌠hey Meta Knight..?â
âm?â
ââŚThanks.â
~~~
Looking back, safe to say Magolor figured he was screwy from the start.
 If he didnât have the broken ship billowing smoke and an unfortunately stranded outlook, Those four would have definitely just left him to his own devices. At least thatâs how he pictured it.
They were nice company, some nicer than others, heâd give them that. He was still a bit rattled when trying to escape Landia and Halcandra altogether so it did serve as some sort of therapy, and he appreciated it.
âWell, it doesnât matter now. I got my arse kicked to oblivion, possessed, and lost the Lor. Safe to say I wonât try and realize that experience again.â
âAnd safe to say he probably doesnât want to see my stupid face again.â
*KNOCK KNOCK*
âHey! You still open?â
Ah right, customers.
âOf course, my fine customer! Something that catches your eye?â
Ever since he quite literally went through hell and back to just up in dreamland again, heâs been trying to bring a more positive outlook to his life, and to try and not repeat the last one.
âMm.. whatâs that?â
âAh! That my dear adventurer is a sort of strength potion, it will temporarily strengthen you if you use it before battle!â
âWow, sweet! How much for three?â
âAbout 40 Gem Apples!â
Magolor cherished every scent of freshness in this non twisty world. Was very glad that the townspeople allowed and even helped him plant that apple seed. Even if they didnât know of his earlier escapades, he decided itâd be easier to start fresh without any more issues, lest he be stranded once again but without a home to go to.
They gawked, â40?! Shouldnât it be 30 if I may ask?â
âNope!â
The mage internally sighed as he could smell the rest of this conversation from miles away, ready to unearth his inner swindl- merchant.
They were left to ponder to themselves as Magolor polished one of the swords with a trusty cloth, (and a recent protection spell on his gloves, he learned that the hard way.)Â
While his customer pondered, he couldnât help but quietly think back to that first day of rest when he was still a stranded traveler who was honestly ready to throw in the towel as soon as he learned he was crashed landed and without energy, and without vital parts at that! The wet grass, dewy and green, the fluffy clouds in the sky, the blinding sun, the trees, the relaxed feeling, Meta Knight-
â..can I bargain?â
Magolor internally sighed again at the interruption, his customers have recently tried to bargain him out of the original price. âYou can try! But Iâll be stern.â
The suddenly now confident customer called out a number. â34!â
â37.â
â..35?â
â36 and we have a deal.â
ââŚfine.â
âYippee! Thank you for your patronage!â
ââŚAnd there they go.â
The alien continued this âsell and argueâ campaign for the rest of his day, causing him to yawn and lean against his small wooden counter thing. There werenât any entertaining arguments or town square fights out there today, but one could call that as a good thing. ââŚI guess.â
They turned around, deciding to check on his stock when he heard an oh so familiar voice.
âPoyo!â
âŚ
âAw fack.â
He took a slow turn, praying to every star in the sky that someone just sneezed weirdly, called out and fumbled, or were even just throwing slander! But nope. There he was, wooden sword in his hand (nub?), along with a wooden helm on his head.
The puff ball seem just as surprised to see him as he was to see him.
How long had it been since their eyes last met? It had to be a while, right? Time didnât necessarily pass differently in that separate dimension, but it definitely mess with his internal sense of time. For all he knew, he couldâve been in there for years!
.. ok thatâs a stretch, months at most. But if Kirbyâs mostly the same, then maybe he wasnât gone too long.Â
Magolor brought his hands together nervously, his smile bright, but a little too bright. âKIRBY! Oh my old friend oh pal! Hehe- uh,-! How ya been?!â
âŚ
Silence.
âŚ
âOh Iâm certified fvcked.â
Kirby pointed at the mage, mouth agape. âMAHGGIE?!â
Oh stars above the once traveler had no idea how much he missed that cute and adorable nickname Kirby kept calling him since he had a hard time pronouncing his own. Even if he was basically dead he was honestly heart filled that Kirby called him such again. Somewhere in his imagination he was somewhat certain that some part of Kirby would try to say his full name to never call him âMaggieâ again out of spite.
Though, then again that didnât sound like Kirby.
âY-Yah itâs meââ
âMahgie! Mahgie! Mahgie! Mahgie!â
The childlike deity killer cheered, surprisingly very pleased to see him as he puffed and floated over the counter and into Magolorâs arms.
âAHH-â
The puffball continued to cheer as the mage gasped as he hopped over and partially inside his shop, catching him and looking into his beautiful, big blue eyes. âMahgie! Mahgie!â
âUhh.. yah. Itâs me. Mahgie! Uhm.. glad you missed me Kirby, itâs nice.â
He spoke, smiling a-bit more genuinely at the pure joy the other expressed, patting the kids head.
âNice to know at least someone missed me..â They muttered quietly to themself, assuming Kirby wouldnât necessarily hear in their excitement, which he didnât. But it was apparently clear as day on his face, with theyâre bittersweet smile, yet the content in their eyes didnât speak let the expression and creases take all the credit.
Kirby stopped and glared at the cat-like alien, hopping on the counter and pointing at the now more shocked merchant.
âStayh!â
And ran off where he came.
âŚ
âOk now am I dead? I donât know at this point.â
The merchants ears twitched as he heard another customer approach with a smug grin.
âHehe, Mahgie?â
âI will murder you.â
~~~
The next two days felt rather stressful, especially now knowing Kirby knew he was back and alive. What was taking them so long anyway? He didnât run off to tell everyone on this whole planet did he???
The merchant let out a sigh and sagged into the wooden counter. At this point he should be just counting his daysâŚ
âMagolor?â
His ears twitched at the sound of a familiar voice, looking up to see a familiar waddle dee and his blue bandana, taking a deep breath as he knew this could mean Meta Knight and the king not taking long to find out either.
â..hhhHeeeyyyy Bandana Waddle DeeâŚ! Been a while..!â
âWhat the fack Magolor that was not chill!!â
â..it hasâŚâ The waddle dee stood there awkwardly, kicking the dirt into the stone bricked floor as the moment tensed, the mage swearing if it got any thicker Kirby could probably suck it up.
He heard the waddle dee speak again.
â..Iâm glad youâre alive.â
ââŚ. Thanks.â
The atmosphere got quiet again, Bandana breaking the tension once more as he coaxing with one of their nubs.
âCould you⌠come down you for a moment..?â
ââŚsure.â
Magolor floated over the counter carefully, landing before the spear warrior in usual and casual grace.
He continued to get surprises this week as he felt the waddle dee hug him suddenly, letting out a small gasp of shock as his eyes widened.
ââŚI mean itâŚ. Iâm glad youâre aliveâŚâ
Hearing the shaky whisper, Magolor tensed and hugged him back, voice cracking abit as he did. ââŚIâm appreciate your worry.. Iâm okâŚâ
The two stood there in each otherâs embraces for a while, the subtle sounds footsteps walking by and people chattering about their daily lives. It felt⌠relaxing and mundane.
Eventually Bandana pulled back, sniffling as he smiled towards the other. âHehe, sorry bout that, got a lil emotionalâŚâ
The mage laughed weakly, âHahaha-! Itâs fine, I mean, it kinda technically⌠looked like i kicked da bucket soâŚ.â
âHeheâŚ.. yahâŚâ
. . .
Well this was awkward. Again.
âOh!â Magolor looked up in confusion to Bandana Deeâs sudden exclamation. âI didnât come alone Magolor! Kirby, Meta Knight and Dedede came with me too- Iâm sure theyâd be somewhat glad to see you alive and ok!â
Magolor had to visibly pause at the mere thought of the idea. Seeing them all again? Heâs already seen Kirby and Bandana one on one, but all at once? And speaking with that optimism in their voice, do they even remember what he did to them? What he did to him.
âI⌠I donâtâŚâ
He mentally paused, speaking this time.
ââŚ. I donât get it Bandana⌠why so hopeful..? Iâm touched-! But-, I just donât know ifââ
He froze when he heard the familiar happy stimming of the puffball from somewhere close, yet also just beyond the square, including the laughs of a familiar king. Thereâs no doubt heâs here.
âOh stars.â
The alien very quickly, before the waddle dee could even question him with concern, used magic to put up a âOut for Lunch!â sign and used a small vanish spell to disappear from the square.
While he cursed himself for fleeing like a coward, he un-vanished and slipped out of the town with careful skill, panting as he realized he had been holding his breath, flying out further until he collapsed in the grass with a sigh, sprawled out like he just ran a marathon through many miles of fields.
ââŚ.sighâŚ..â
He exhaustively laid in the soft grass, thankful that it was slightly cloudy today as the said clouds graciously blocked the sun from this moment. He took it his surroundings as he saw dots of flowers, hills in the distance, and could even see a couple splotches of color of what he assumed was a picnic.
Hell, even the grass was soft and wet.
Just like before..
â. . .â
He let out a quiet groan, eyes shutting as he rested an arm over his eyes.
âDamn you Meta Knight..â
The guilty mage laid there for a while, wallowing in his own thoughts till he realized he could hear soft, clinking footsteps getting closer to him, recognizing the subtle clinking to be armor.
He didnât move his arm to see who it was, not giving them much thought as he just laid there, letting the breeze just brush and carry his chocolate fur and tug and pull at his merchant wears with gentle glides in the wind. He expected to hear the footsteps fade away as they past his relaxed form, but instead realized that they stopped behind him, the shuffling he heard after soon piecing together that they decided to lay down with him.
After some curiosity, Magolor moved his arm to rest on the grass above his head as he looked above and behind him, eyes widening almost immediately.
Of course It was Meta Knight.
The merchant felt his eyes widen and his ears shrink into his head slightly, both in fear and confusion of why this knight hasnât impaled him yet, and in slight awe and relief of seeing his dear friend again. Though the fear did over shadow his sighing heart.
âSo⌠how have you been..?â
He could only lay there frozen, feeling more hyper aware of his surroundings as he bit back a stutter.
ââŚgood..â
â..good.â
âOh my stars this is suffocating-! Why hasnât he killed me yet?!â
â.. fortunate to see your financially doing well.â
ââŚthanksâŚâ
The two laid there in silence, grass swaying gently in the breeze. Distant laughter and happy chats in the distance of others walking by on the path, the only thing breaking the deafening silence.
â⌠Iâm sorry.â
Meta Knight didnât respond. The mage continued.
â⌠I used you guys, manipulated and attacked you. And⌠I also hurt you. You didnât deserve that, you deserve better. No apology could fix my mistakes but.. Iâd feel even more terrible if I didnât.â
Magolor finished, silently glad he did because he beginning to tear up, no more than ever grateful for his hood.
The honorable knight meanwhile continued to lay in silence, pondering his words before speaking himself.
â.. When you appeared before us after we had defeated Landia, I will admit, I was in fact hurt. The possible hypothesis that you manipulated us from the start so you could get what you wanted.. hurt a lot. Enough for me to wish and hope that maybe it was you, and yet I feared I would grief someone who wasnât real.â
Magolorâs heart broke at the thought, what if this was a facade? What if he was crueler than he actually was and faked infatuation friendship for their use? He knows his heart would be broken to pieces if he was in Meta Knightâs shoes..
He looked up at the other again, the fur around his eyes a little darkened from tears, wanting to desperately assure any thoughts in the knights mind that he was real, and that he wanted what they had.
Before he could though, the warrior continued. âAnd to see you fade into that light after were amalgamated into a monster by that thingâŚâ He paused, the heartbroken merchant swore he could hear hesitation and a hiccup. â.. I thought you died. We all did. That the crown was too much for you and you were torn apart by its power.
âI have every right to be angry, and I was for a long time, and yet I also grieved. For me you were a traitor, a manipulator, a liar, and as well a dead man. I knew my anger was justified, that I pretty should be cursing your name as of now,â The mage tensed when he felt a grasp at his wrist, the knight gripping it tightly as he voiced his feelings, voice cracking as Magolor could feel his emotions through the grasp alone.
 âI was angry, I, again, had every reason to be, yet I couldnât stop crying over you. That I lost someone I cared and bonded deeply over again and that there couldâve the painful possibility that it wasnât even real in the first place. The possible thought that I couldâve saved you instead of watching you fade and disappear haunts my mind. I-âÂ
He stopped. Magolor wanted so badly to hold his hand in turn but was admittedly afraid to. He could hear how much emotion every word carried, how much his heart hurt at the mental picture in his heard that his knight was probably crying, and that he was the one that caused it.
â..In something more short and less emotional..â He paused. â⌠Yes. You hurt me a lot. I was tossed in turmoil and left to crawl my way back out. And that hearing Kirby say you were alive was both seething yet relieving at the same time.â
The now more guilty than ever mage sniffled, his tears still running. âWhy havenât you just.. ended me off then? Mâ sure Galaxia would also like a word or two with me, and you wouldnât have to fuss over me anymore..â
âIâm not grieving enough for vengeance, Iâm smarter than that. Iâm glad youâre alive, and yes, Galaxia is actually more than ready give you a piece of her mind.â
âThen why are you stopping her? Iâm not that stupid either, but surely you must have some anger left in you? I wonât be upset, I know Iâve had this coming.â
âI wonât. Besides, I kinda feel exhausted from the earlier rant. But I still wouldnât.â
Magolor finally sat up, looking up at him incredulously. âYou canât be serious.â
He sat up with him. âI am.â
âArenât you mad?â
âI am.â
âThen act on it.â
âI wonât.â
âWhy?!â
âBecause I still love you.â
Magolor proceeded to cry further, sniffling and hiccuping more prominently. Why wonât he just give him what he deserves?! He paid for his sins in that inter dimensional rift, surely coming back didnât mean he was done??! Those stupid, three words..! No facking wonder this man is pretty much Kirbyâs dad-! Their not even related by blood a the stupid kindness thing still carries over!!
The mage continued to double over and sob, curling into himself as the subtle wind gave a slight chill to the tears on his face as they rained down.
He soon felt shade envelope his form as he realized equally soon after that there were now wings wrapped around him. He couldnât help but look up at him, only to be greeted with his now deep blue eyes. His hypothesis was right.
The knight firmly grasped his shoulder, grounding him as the sad cat as he watched the mage shake with his sobs, he couldnât lie, his own heart was braking at the sight.
âY⌠Iâve had time to think..â the knight began to stutter through his own tears. Hugging him around the shoulders. âA..And Iâve concluded that thereâs no point cursing a dead man, th-though since the option has n-now rose.. Iâd aâŚalso be glad that you lived⌠that we didnât lose someone s-so preciousâŚâ
Magolor sobbed loudly, gripping onto the knight as he hiccuped and cried. âI-It was all real-! I-I promise-!! âHicâ I-I loved you too-!! Iâ I love you now!â âHicâ
âAnd Iâm so glad you doâŚâ
The both huddled against each other, sobbing and clinging onto each others forms as the relieved traveler gripped that hope for a second chance, grasping it tightly with every shred of hope he had as they both huddled there on the wet grass.
âSniffle⌠Hehe.. You still monologue ya knowâŚâ
â.. hic Iâm well aware..â

One-Shot End!
