Ok so, pirate gaster, what the hell is that?
For those that aren't. Well chronically online like some big chunk of the fandom, might have just woken up one day and went to Tumblr, twitter or Reddit and got jumpscared by . Fucking pirate Gaster yeah IKNOW. It sounds ridiculous.
But! I personally believe it can get to be a *slightly* solid theory, even though I also believe it's not even truly plausible
I will try to explain it as best as I can, but if you prefer to read something well. A completely BETTER explanation there's a reddit post that explains it very well with the same proof that I'm trying to cite here!!
This comes from a mixture of various, various deltarune theories:
Water is darkness -> texture that appears in background of goner maker is an edited image of the ocean/water, not to mention the water connection extends to the dark fountains.
So if Gaster has or had any connection with creating dark, and we have already the association that water is darkness, then Gaster fell onto the water, which means he's now underwater
Onion also talks about a song coming from the water, and that will tell us a secret soon, of course we're not supposed to know that, which is why later in chapter 5, it's heavily implied (if not it's quite literal) that onion got KILLED and cooked into food
Which leads us to the OTHER theory
Normal npc -> gaster's parrot (I think that's the name????)
So, the one that POSSIBLY. killed onion is normalNpc (or the bird/parrot guy), that in the festival sells us onion to try for only 2G, then later changing the statement to only for free. Normal npc is mentioning the currency that appears in Undertale, so if Gaster is from Undertale, normal npc only repeats what Gaster tells them to say.
Roulxs kaard is Gaster's self insert character:
The title is pretty self explanatory, but basically this theory implies that Gaster is self inserting in deltarune with roulxs kaard as his self insert sona. With proof being his design (if you invert roulxs kaard his face looks very similar to Gaster), sharing traits such as literally, speaking with hands (this can be seen in chapter 3), also with roulxs kaard appearing as a pirate in chapter 2, while riding what appears at the start a gray boat. Or maybe... a goner vessel? (Essi if you see this yes I stole this line from you #sorry) and interfering with the deltarune world by seeking constant attention and approval, maybe as a way to be seen after his disappearance and shattering across time and space
Now, mix all that, and also add the fact that the fandom goes completely crazy after a new chapter release, and you get pirate gaster. Wow.
Even though if you don't believe in any of these theories at all or find them ridiculous, I think it's fun regardless to get some new kind of brainrot after the fandom got completely obsessed with friend inside me and the whole idea of a cowboy secret boss, now the fandom moves to . Well pirates and succeeds in the new pirate induced brainrot because #joy and #fun
