The concept of a "high mobility heavy" machine is so funny but like, it is a fun thing to play in both 5th gen AC and in machine clad
Pincer missiles, energy cannon, machine gun, energy blade. Heavy biped with high speed.
I think machine clad has better clad on clad combat than AC fights usually are in AC games. The game does fall a bit short in presentation for the story unfortunately, but I think the dev team is one person big so I am pretty forgiving.
If I were to give a criticism to the balance of weapons in machine clad (although I am not on the most recent build so this may be better by now) it is that i find weapons with both low damage per shot and low piercing very inconvenient. I get their intended use is to tear up enemies in SC break or to quickly SC break. But SC breaking is much less convenient than staggering in ACVI (which is overall a good thing). Which encourages using more reliable weapons that can do damage past SC instead:
Fast projectile speed and reliable damage like the merkmal S and tsunugui are just more convenient and allows for consistent damage at mid range, which I do like and works well alongside the sword as a counter if the enemy tries to close the gap. I enjoy this playstyle, but I do think the alternative playstyle with weapons like machineguns and shotguns might need a slight buff. But as I said, for all I know that has already happened.
(Loadout now is still a high mobility heavy biped, but now with a rifle, missile... barrage... thingie, laser cannon and a kinetic sword.)
Companies that rushed to replace human labor with AI are now shelling out to have IRL workers to fix the technology's screwups.
Delicious. We love to see it.
@ralfmaximus
Ultimately, she spent 20 hours redoing the copy from scratch — and with her $100-per-hour rate, that meant her client was shelling out $2,000 for copy that likely would have ended up being far cheaper had a human just written it in the first place.
I love stories like this.

I really enjoy the cyborg flesh mecha of Evangelion, but I can't really think of any other examples of that.
So I am turning to the wider mecha community for wisdom from those more experienced than me.
If you have any examples like that, or adjacent to it, please share. I would greatly appreciate more examples.
A couple of answers I can think of off the top of my head include the Vermilion from RahXephon (basically a giant monster bound up in armor to control it) and the Antibodies from Brain Powerd.
Antibodies (either Brain Powerds or Grand Chers) are living creatures, fully organic and independently conscious. They aren't piloted but rather rode, intended to be analogous to horses and their relationship with humans throughout history. The characters can even ride them with or without cockpit controls (similar to riding with a saddle or bareback), they like being brushed and groomed by their "pilots," and even express very strong responses depending on the rider's emotional state.
Fun fact: RahXephon and Brain Powerd were essentially developed around the same time, and neither was specifically made to be a response to Evangelion. They just happened to enter production at the right time to be seen that way. RahXephon was created as a spiritual successor to Raideen, while Brain Powerd was essentially a warm-up series that led into Turn A Gundam. Both have elements that are definitely "of the era" though, with RahXephon having some similar thematic elements to Eva, and Brain Powerd being an attempt at a meditation on how relationships in culture seem to have changed over time in what sometimes feels like an "old man Tomino yells at cloud" situation. I love both series though, and recommend checking them out.
Thank you for these detailed suggestions! I appreciate it and will look into it.

I feel like so much official zombieland saga art having them in makeup has the funny effect of implying this is staged photos. Which is kinda funny for some of them.
Oh look, Nr 3 caught unaware in a dishevelled state she would never have been seen in around fans what a special picture that got snapped in this normal domestic moment of her life giving the fans a view into it.
Probably took Kotaro and Ai like 30 minutes of prep time to prepare and that only because Kotaro is a makeup god. (Sidenote i love her nr 3 mug).
Kotaro blew so much money on waterproofing spray here that food for Kotaro and franchouchou for the foreseeable future is whatever rations they had stocked up.
But I think the best one for that is christmas morning:
Assuming this is their first christmas there, this also can't be morning as we see that in the drama CD. Also if you look it is clearly dark outside. But, well, they have different pajamas here than normal, so it was clothing for the shoot, and they have the makeup on. Kotaro turned opening their christmas presents into work.
Which is a very Kotaro thing, he is very tsundere, so I could totally buy that he would get them christmas presents they would actually want, but also he would turn it into work because something something lazy zombies and they should just think about saving Saga and he did not get them anything because he thinks they deserve it or he cares about them, no its just a marketing thing.
It is pretty similar to how he was on new years in the manga. He makes them work all day and refuses to help them with the makeup so they can go outside and have fun at night, but he does get them fancy food he prepped.
I’m not falling for the propaganda trying to tear apart the LGBTQ acronym, you can pry this community out of my cold dead hands. I love lesbians I love gay men I love bisexuals I love trans people I love nonbinaries and drag queens and kings I love asexuals I love the kinky people at pride I love all queerness get that divisive shit away from me I’m so serious
My biggest tinfoil hat conspiracy that I believe with my whole chest and will NOT be convinced otherwise is that a significant portion of modern queer community infighting is a scheme by Big Homophobia to weaken us from the inside and it pisses me off sm that it’s working
I legit think the Great Watchdog fight is harder than the final boss or Fallen Samurai fights. Id say the most fun one is probably the Fallen Samurai fight though, but Great Watchdog is pretty close.
But it took me until today to beat the Great Watchdog without using any of Kushinada's dango. While I can pretty comfortably beat all the other bosses without.
I think the main thing is honestly that the bullet hell segment at the end is just really intense and lasts really long, so it is easy to slip up. Discounting the bullet hell sections I think the Great Watchdog is only a little tougher than the Twin Watchdogs.
I really enjoy the cyborg flesh mecha of Evangelion, but I can't really think of any other examples of that.
So I am turning to the wider mecha community for wisdom from those more experienced than me.

I really need to get some of my drafts out of there and into actual posts.
Post detailing all the various Amiya compare/contrast characters in arknights and how I think they do with those (with bonus Vi^3 and Perlica from HGs other games). This one should be not that hard to finish up since i won't go that in depth on any.
Amiya and Wis'adel relationship deep dive from chapter 1 to chapter 14 (and its aftermath) with some extra bonus speculations I had which turned out to be untrue (and speculation on my part which of those I think were at some point intended and which I was just wrong on). This one is running way too long already and I am still talking about chapter 3. Probably gonna have to split into multiple.
Post talking about how things like clothing and makeup plays into Wis'adel´s themes of identity and connects her to the people important to her like Theresa (rewriting this one because I originally wrote it while complaining about something only tangentially related before being sidetracked and I wanna scrub traces of my bitterness).
Post talking about some of my favorite paragons. Specifically focusing on ones I think are slightly atypical. This one is already getting long despite not having talked about all the ones I planned to yet. Might split into 3 posts, one for each.
Post talking about a smut fic that is one of the best things I have ever read and I absolutely love and that rewired my creative brain a bit, but is about a ship that is so cursed I read it in the first place out of morbid curiosity (I still do not think those two characters would ever bone but the fic is such a good character exploration on aspects that kinda never will get spotlighted in that way due to the tone of canon). This one I am mostly worried nobody will care but me and I struggle on some word choices.
Post explaining why I think Yan/Vi^3 reminds me of Kal/Theresa which is really just an excuse to talk about two ships I love. But I do also think there are interesting parallels to draw. Just, there is a lot to go through.
Post trying to explain why Alea Iacta Est is the most narratively satisfying ending and the one that makes most sense for 621 and Ayre as characters even if most players think liberator is more of a "good ending".
Complaining about that one gamepress article attempting to character analyse Wis'adel (well this was written pre name so W) via misunderstanding the wiremom and clothmom experiment and also using tarot theming for some reason (please pick one framework gamepress). I should probably delete that one too because nothing good comes from gamepress arknights articles.
And more! Well, I trimmed some while writing this. So that is good.

I feel like most arknights fans don't know that Wis'adel is a caster and has arts. Another example of fans falling for her deliberate trickery, although this one I think is a lot more justified than people taking her "Oh I hate everyone and care about nothing but blowing stuff up" thing at face value.
Because in game they actually never spell it out. There are a few instances in the shadow of a dying sun arc where she causes explosions from supposedly buried mines that she should not have been able to place at all because she had never been in that location before (most notably of the top of my head she does this in chapter 13). It is also mentioned how she blew up something that should not be possible to blow up with the amount of explosives she had at the time (there is the possibility thrown in that maybe with extremely precise usage of it could work, but still odd).
And obviously these could easily be chalked up to just, the writers not explaining how she planted those explosives because they couldn't think of how (but then they could have just chosen to not have that happen) or that she is some sort of once in a lifetime math and physics genius (she is actually good at this stuff we are shown, but she seems to just be, better than most and not like some super genius). But in the Dagger's Inheritors we are directly shown that she can turn rocks (I assume rocks with high enough amount of originium particles in them since it does seem like she can't freely turn just anything into a bomb) into bombs by touching them.
Which would also explain why she does not do this in Londinium, Lungmen or Chernobog, not enough originium in the concrete and steel that makes up the landship (and doing it to the massive originium shards would probably be unwise for "not dying" reasons so using regular explosives she can know for a fact how strong of a blast they give off after building them is probably just safer and smarter). But she can do it in the caves the lifebone was hidden in.
Some more random neat stuff I noticed in yumeginga paradise.
When Saki is eating two yumeginga bars at once and Ai is like "hey Saki stop stuffing your face with those yumeginga bars!" she is the only other person than Saki actually eating them in that scene.
Ai finding the octopus balloon cute.
"He is a zombie! Everyone knows zombies grow up fast!"
Lily, Sakura and Junko just being face down in the fluff of big Romero.
Yugiri and Lily riding Big Romero instead of using bikes because no bike small enough for Lily and Yugiri can't bike.
Kotaro packing 3 extra spare sunglasses with him when going to tokyo. Considering this, and how he always seems to have makeup on him for emergencies, maybe his reason for being annoyed they keep messing up with the makeup is slightly justified as he actually does take a lot of precautions for this kinda stuff.
The aliens being able to see them at the end of the movie by drastically raising the ambient temperature in their ship. Showing they are pretty smart and very quickly recognized why they could not see the zombies.
"We are really lucky those beams never hit the audience"
The first foreshadowing of the aliens seeing by heat being when Policeman A falls into the mud and is ignored, which is not obvious at the time as you think they just thought he was not a threat.
Junko worrying her license would be expired.
Junko ramming the alien with the van.

these 2 posts are essential ato texts to me like i can't think about hoshi/haruka without remembering them
I have not played the most recent abyssal hunter event yet and I did not play that much IS3 so there may be information contradicting this, but I always assumed Skadi was older than Gladiia. Since it is emphasized Gladiia is the youngest to ever achieve her rank while Skadi worked as an engineer for (unclear period of time) before she became an abyssal hunter.
So I always assumed the age of the hunters went like Ulpianus>Skadi>Gladiia>Laurentina.
But I feel like no one else views it this way, so idk if I missed something. It just always made the most sense to me, I just feel like everybody else headcanons Gladiia as older than Skadi. And I get it is cause she is more confident and has more authority and feels a sense of responsibility for the other hunters, but like she is still the most experienced hunter so that checks out regardless. Plus higher rank.
