Dear Fanfic Author,
Thank you. I literally couldn't have made it through some tough times without the absolute masterpieces I've devoured over the years, completely for free. Your imagination is beautiful, and the effort you put in so that you can share the wonders of it with the rest of us is such a gift. (And an often under-appreciated one.) I think of you often, Author. I think of the stories you have let loose into the ether, and I smile. I feel things I might not feel in my daily life otherwise. I forget, for a little while, that the world exists outside of your words. And sometimes, when those words hurt so good, I am thankful for my real life in ways I wasn't before. You are a treasure beyond measure. Please, never forget that.
