audeline wasn’t entirely convinced she wanted to come to the party at all. her best friend had been trying to convince her all day. it wasn’t that she didn’t love a party, in fact she loved to attract any trouble she could, it was the fact that most of these hotel parties turned to shit quickly. still, she figured she may as well go for a few bottles of free beer at least. yet at the door she was stopped by two men. her brown eyes flickered to the first one to speak to her, offering a little head tilt. “booze…was i supposed to rsvp first?” she teased him with a little grin before her eyes flickered to his friend. “is it actually real fun in there? last time it was just a bunch of hicks playing beer pong.” she asked, reaching out to steal the cigarette from between the blond’s fingers. she took a long puff, looking between the two. “i’ll take a drink before you two try to get me to take my clothes off.” she said with a wink, handing the cigarette back. she was probably coming on too strong, but she figured she’d follow their lead.
jude immediately smirked at her response, he liked this one. there weren’t many who could throw back what he and wesley gave. glancing over his shoulder for a moment, he looked back at her and nodded. “well no, but i would have definitely set some of the good stuff aside. i can’t promise there isn’t just a few old english’s left. and no wine coolers i’m afraid.” he teased, eyes going to wes when she set her sights on him and spoke, already backing toward the entrance of the room to grab drinks.
wes had kept his eyes on the girl the entire time, offering her a smile as she met his eyes and stole the cigarette from his grasp. sniffing quickly, he glanced at the other man and tilted his chin toward the door for him to go grab some drinks. “well, depends on what you think is fun. you seem to be...second base in the back of the theater and being a whole two minutes past your curfew is a rush kinda fun. ours is a bit...different.” almost like clockwork, you could hear the sound of something breaking followed by a chorus of yells and jude pushing his way out with a laugh and three beers in his hand. “there went the incidental deposit.” he murmured, catching the beer jude tossed at him and twisting off the lid before offering it to her. “don’t worry, by the time we’re done, your clothes comin’ off will be all your idea. huh jude?” he chuckled, looking over to him as he caught his own beer and cracked it open, playfully clinking it to hers.

meeting her gaze over his cup, he slowly lowered it as she stepped closer, feeling her touch against his chest and lifting his brows. “sure i still care about you. but that doesn’t mean i...just don’t like him.” he murmured, shaking his head. “i don’t think he has your best intentions...in mind...” he started, the tips of his fingers ghosting over her hip now that she was close enough to him.

there were a few benefits to coming home for the summer for jude, one of which being that he could be reunited with his best friend wesley. they had been inseparable all through high school, but when it came time to graduate and move on, wesley had decided to stay home and make sure his mom was taken care of. jude’s family wasn’t very close, and they had certainly not begged him to stay. but he liked coming back anyways, he missed the trouble he and wes got into whenever they were together, and this summer was going to be no different. music blared through the hotel room that jude had rented for the night, people yelling and laughing and drinking as the man stood outside with wesley. they both had their eyes set on the other individual across from them, smirks toying at their lips as their gazes flicked to each other and back. tilting his head, jude was the first to step forward, bringing the lighter up and flicking the flame to life while also blocking her path to the entrance. “whoa, hey...what brings you out to this neck of the woods...” he wondered, hand moving inches away from the others face to light the cigarette wesley had in his mouth.
wesley enjoyed the summers he got to spend with his best friend, and he especially enjoyed when it was like this. throwing parties and getting into trouble, things that they were good at. it wasn’t hard though, trouble seemed to find them, just like it had as they stood outside jude’s hotel room. he watched the girl slowly make her way up to the doorway, gaze flickering to jude as he winked before stepping forward as the other man zeroed in on her. reaching into his pocket, he pulled his pack of smokes out and pulled one from it with his lips before leaning past the girls shoulder for the light jude held out. meeting her gaze, he winked at her now as he blew the smoke from his nose slowly and smirked. “get brave enough to come on over to where the real fun is?” he murmured, leaning back to pull his cigarette from his lips.

ajax kept his eyes on the screen in front of them, shrugging at her question when she asked it at first. “i know who you’re dating, i’m well aware. i also know he’s a royal dickhead and you don’t deserve that.” he set his controller down in his lap, finally looking over at her and lifting his brows as he waited for her reaction. “is this you saying that you didn’t like me kissing you?”

“i need you…to let me go…” the words were the hardest ones to leave the mans mouth as nathan stared at the other across from the dinner table. it was something that had dragged on far too long, something that was preventing them from living real lives. from finding true happiness, whether that even existed or not nathan wasn’t quite sure. but he knew the other could and should do better than him.
She knew he was right. Of course he was right. But that didn’t mean she had to agree with the words that were falling from his lips. She tilted her head, looking into his eyes as she allowed the following words to fall from her lips. ‘’What if I don’t want to let you go?’’ She questioned, raising her eyebrows. ‘’Can you really tell me you would want to miss out on the many amazing nights we had? What we could have again?’’ She added, looking into his eyes. Why did the thought of losing whatever the hell this was, hurt? She knew they weren’t meant to last, so why was she trying to hold onto this so desperately?
nathan stayed silent for a long moment, his gaze not cutting from hers at all as he weighed the options once more. not like he hadn’t multiple times, each and every time landing him at the same conclusion. but there was something about the way she was looking at him, the memories that she pulled right out from the deepest parts of his brain that he had tried to hide them away in. he knew they could be good, they could be amazing. but they could also be destructive. “it’s not about what we could have...it’s about what we are now. and what we are right now is miserable. this isn’t fair to either of us. just sitting and trying over and over again, acting like crazy people...” he shook his head, letting it fall so his eyes could focus on the woodgrain of the table. “it’s not that i don’t want you...or that i don’t want us...it’s that i can’t keep you from going out there and finding something better than us anymore. because we both know there is a lot better than me waiting for you out there.” he swallowed, lips pressing together as he pushed himself away from the table and stood, grabbing his empty glass and heading for the liquor bottle that sat on the kitchen island a few feet away.

nobody had expected thomas to come back, in their small town it was pretty much like someone never existed once they left. people didn’t talk about or question those that managed to get out, but eliza had thought of him often. wondered what had happened to him, if he had gone on to better or worse. though she never thought one day she would find him in her living room going on about some kind of community. “thomas, really, it’s late. i think maybe you’ve just had a long day of traveling and need some rest...do your mom and dad know you’re here?” she wondered, pulling in a slow breath as his hand reached out and ghosted over her jaw. it had been an impossibly long time since she felt that, the blood rushing to the trail his touch left on her skin. “i’m not scared i just...i don’t understand. can we...talk about this outside?” she wondered softly, eyes glancing back over her shoulder, knowing her fiance was at the table eating the dinner she had prepared for him. another side effect of their small town.

lola was gasping as she practically threw herself into the car, stuffing handfuls of white tulle and silk from her wedding dress into the small space as she tried to get in as fast as possible. “drive, please just drive!” she demanded from the backseat, slamming the door shut and locking it before anyone could catch up and try to bring her back. she had made a huge mistake. this was all a huge mistake and it hadn’t hit her just how big it was until the doors had opened at the church and she looked in to see everyone staring back at her. the wedding march hadn’t even started and she was already turning and bolting for the exit. feeling the car lurch to a quick start away from the curb, she leaned back against the seat, pulling in lungfuls of air. “oh my god...i just did that. i really just ran away. holy shit...” she couldn’t help but laugh in what she thought to be shock, hands coming up to run through her perfectly curled locks.

“a ba--a baby? you want us to have a baby?” maisie blinked but then quickly let out a small laugh, fiddling with her keys in her hand as she looked up at him. “gray, we were just talking about how we can barely take care of ourselves, and now you want us to have a baby?” her smile started to fade as she realized he didn’t seem to be teasing. clearing her throat, she glanced down, lips pressed together in thought. “i mean, i am flattered. but i don’t think i’m...ready for that, you know? i don’t think we’re ready for that.” she tried to reason, taking a small step back from him.

nolan held tightly to the gauze that covered the deep, bleeding wound across his arm. eyes held a (mostly) feigned contempt for the other as he could feel the fabric becoming more and more soaked. “no, no! fuck you. you missed my cool fucking jump that i dedicated entirely to YOU and you weren’t even there. i broke a table again. it was all for nothing.” could only assume that on the way down that the glass he’d taken down with him had sliced his arm open. didn’t even feel embarrassed about the fall, only that they had been in the corner with someone else the entire night and nolan had still failed to get their attention. even through his drunken state, nolan still wondered when he would finally give up on this as he stared up at them from the cement step in front of the house party. “fuck you, for real. don’t you have that dude inside to worry about?”
casey was still rifling through the weak excuse for a first aid kit found in the bathroom of whoever’s house they were at when she heard him start to yell at her. “nolan, there was no need to dedicate some stupid evel knievel jump to me just for you to end up hurting yourself. a song would have sufficed.” she huffed as she let the lid fall on the box after grabbing another gauze and turning to him. she paused though, hearing him talk about the person she was talking to. “what are you talking about? we were just having a conversation. don’t do this shit right now..” she shook her head, reaching out to pull the soaked gauze from his arm and replacing it with a fresh one. “we need to get you to the fucking hospital, this needs more than a band-aid.”

She’s always been the kind to think that if she ignores it, it might eventually go away. “Don’t go”. She tugs them back down the hallway. “Tell me what you want to get off your chest and I promise this time, I’ll listen”.
everett had been busy, sure, but not as busy as his partner. it was his dream to be as successful as her, but the man hadn’t quite gotten his big break yet, and was still just booking mediocre pilot episodes that never really went anywhere, and side characters that were usually done for by the finale. nothing like sofia. he’d be lying if he said it never got to him, because of course it did, to see her living the life he wanted so badly for himself. he was proud of her, but that didn’t stop him from wanting to be her equal as well. it was one of these moments that sofia had caught him in, and after watching her all out ignore him for what he assumed was responding to one of her big shot co-stars as well, he had gotten up to go grab some air. that is, until she grabbed him and asked him to stay. “i just...miss you, sof. i get you’re busy and all, but...we don’t get a lot of time here. even less as of late, and when you come back home and can’t seem to be bothered to stop entertaining your costars for even five minutes to talk, i don’t see the point in me sitting here and talking to myself.” he shrugged, leaning against the doorjam as his gaze dropped to her hand on his.

"i mean that we're cool and all but...i'm not looking for anything serious. and you...are a bit too intense for me. so i think taking some space would be good." his hand came up to scratch his head nervously, a small scoff leaving his lips at her saying she didn't want him to. "and you can feel that way verity, but...that's not going to stop me. you don't scare me. i don't know what this...fit is, but it doesn't make me want to change my mind. if that's what you're going for."
