it took me an embarassingly long time to finally sit down and scribble this garbage (/j). Happy Pride Month everyone i hope my contributions only enrich our community

It’s just so refreshing and wonderful and the amount of positivity and whimsy is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before

Examples:

- It’s a beautiful platonic story, we often like to headcanon the main character as aroace because of the symbolism that entails, and yet we have fun shipping him with everyone under the sun (and the suns of other universes)(and one universe that doesn’t have any suns)

- the woman who doesn’t have an easily digestible, “friendly” personality is almost universally loved. The general lack of misogyny and the understanding for her (very reasonable) actions makes me so happy

- we’ve created a widely loved character based on a name, three mentions of said character, and a few patches of green rock on said character’s mate

- we’ve somehow merged fandoms with iron lung

-Coltland twins. Is it because many of us are retired gravity falls fans? Probably!

- We basically created a fandom for an extremely underrated movie (fall guy) and also merged it with this one

- There’s so little fighting among the fans! Almost everyone agrees that yes, we CAN have fun and go wild with headcanons! We can have fun doing whatever the hell we want and no one is going to tear anyone apart for it!

like. what do you mean 'so much ash fell on Kodiak Island -- which is 100 miles away -- that it collapsed roofs'. what do you mean 'the explosion of the eruption was heard in Juneau, Alaska, which is over 750 miles away, an hour after it occured'. what do you mean 'it was the largest volcanic eruption of the 20th century and has not been matched since'.

what do you mean 'The Valley Of 10,000 Smokes has ash deposits 700ft deep at the deepest points'. what do you mean 'the reason it is called The Valley Of 10,000 Smokes is because that ash steamed until the 1940s'. what do you mean 'they used that valley to train apollo astronauts to recognize volcanic structures on the moon'. what do you mean 'there is still no plant life in The Valley Of 10,000 Smokes'.

so for whatever reason (con? one of his 5 bijintillion hospital stays? the world may never know!) simon can't stream, but worry not! after adjusting the camera to exclude his face, Papa Star is ready to take over! he then plays Chants of Senaar (game where you have to decode several languages as you climb the tower of babel) (cmon this man decoded eridian, I think he'd have fun with that) and then charity spore, where basically if you donate enough papa star will change some stuff up per request (like the features or species name or amount of violence)

in the end the fans (do they have a collective fanbase name???) end up begging simon for more Papa Star streams occasionally. Grace's students get ever so slightly suspicious when not only does the voice sound lwk high-key like their science teacher, but also their science teacher seems to really enjoy whatever game Papa Star's playing on stream

oh and also every time he goes on stream he wears a different stupid science pun shirt. first one is the "Ah! - element of suprise" shirt. the fans eat that shit up

Ooo yes!!! Grace is EXTREMELY nervous the first time and he tries to do everything like reading chat and playing the game and he mumbles how it’s harder than it looks but chat is really understanding!

After seeing all the nerdy ass science shirts Grace wears, fans send links to other nerdy shirts for Grace to Simon and that’s where he gets the idea to do a “viewers pick out outfits for me and my husband” and if Simon so happens to make all the shirts he buys Grace one size too small then that’s for him and him only!

One viewer sends a link to a harness and Simon is like that sonic gif and puts Grace in it and the camera is only on Simon’s face and he turns bright red and his jaw drops and he mumbles “fuck that’s not going in camera.” Because Grace looks hot as shit!

People do draw some art of what they suspect grace to look like wearing it and Simon jokingly does the “I’ve seen it now, please delete-“ thing.

but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs
