This homemade Chicken Chow Mein is quick and easy to make, better than takeout, and ready in just 30 minutes! It's a flavorful stir-fry loaded with tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and savory sauce.
Ingredients: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts about 12 oz, thinly sliced. 8 oz chow mein noodles. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced. 1 cup broccoli florets. 1 cup snap peas, trimmed. 1/2 cup carrots, julienned. 3 tablespoons soy sauce. 2 tablespoons oyster sauce. 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce. 1 teaspoon sesame oil. 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Salt and pepper to taste. Green onions, for garnish.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to prepare the chow mein noodles. After draining, set aside. Combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar in a small bowl. Put aside. In a big skillet or wok, heat up one tablespoon of vegetable oil on high heat. Stir-fry the chicken slices for three to four minutes, or until they are cooked through. Take out and place aside from the skillet. To the skillet, add the final tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the thinly sliced onion and minced garlic for two minutes, or until the onion becomes slightly soft and fragrant. Carrots, snap peas, broccoli, and red bell pepper should all be added to the skillet. The veggies should be crisp-tender after another three to four minutes of stir-frying. After the chicken has finished cooking, add the vegetables and sauce to the skillet. Make sure the noodles are thoroughly covered in sauce by adding the cooked chow mein noodles to the skillet and tossing everything together. To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning. Stir-fry for two to three more minutes, or until thoroughly heated. Before serving, garnish with sliced green onions. Enjoy your hot 30-Minute Chicken Chow Mein after serving it!
