an UNDERTALE, and semi-DELTARUNE, alternate universe. It is canon divergent and slightly pre-canon. The story will contain in-game spoilers. I do not own either piece of media or its characters. Those rights are reserved to its creator, Toby Fox. This alternate universe is simply a fan story following many of my head canons, creative interpretations, and original characters.

STARTALE: The Final Contender is self-indulgent. It has a story and features the main cast (especially the Dreemurrs and Skeleton Brothers), but its main focus will always be Chara, and my selfship. Additionally, this alternate universe will contain one-sided Frisk/Sans that may make some readers uncomfortable.

* the waterfall episodes of startale: the final contender are actually really sweet. and also dramatic~ and i can’t wait to draw and share them. i love the waterfall area, it’s my favorite, so therefore it has really important scenes. it’s the area where the main shift in star and chara’s relationship starts.
* it’s also just a really beautiful area, that i really do have to make the climax of the first act there as well. it’s calming. swimming and kicking in water brings me back to my child self. that and, waterfall is such a good representation of all the memories, regrets, and wishes of monsterkind.. and therefore chara. the one’s they try to keep to themselves. the one’s they’re afraid to be vulnerable and share. and the the calm sadness of the area, that lets them share them.

* also, that tv panel is so visually appealing!!! and is such a beautiful touch to the page. the tv screen (i assume) being “new home,” story wise, contrasting undertale and deltarune’s home, and therefore the different between the two universes. but the grey color palette also helps both the tv screen, and chara and the player’s soul, pop out. the panels also flow together very well, with chara always being on the left, and the player the right.

* i constantly think about how there’s so many alternate universes, that the alternate characters get their own nicknames. anyways, if startale chara had a nickname in the UTMV it would be “rosey.”
* the nicknames comes from the fact i’ve always called chara “rosey cheeked gremlin” due to their humor and pink cheeks. don’t let the feminine aspect of the name fool you though. startale chara is a thing (they/it) and i will personally smite you down if you call it a women.
