¤Iāve always been an odd one out in a camp of other āoddā kids. Eyes distant and seeing more than anyone else there, unclaimed yet never having even stepped foot in Hermes. Others questioned what made me so special, to be placed in another cabin despite not being a child of itās god. Many speculated it was only due to my adoptive brother belonging to the cabin, not wanting to separate siblings with one so young. Others believed it was just because Apollo claimed me as his, with my being a seer and didnāt want me in another godās cabin. Few knew the real reason. We both belonged, one a child of Apollo, ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā and the other his prophet.
There is a vast difference between a Seer and a Prophet.
After centuries, the differences have blended, with less known between the differences, on how prophets were treated versus seers. These days, the only difference known between seers and prophets, are that seers see and interpret the omens that are presented to them by their godly patron, and prophets were directly connected to the fates and had the ability to see The tapestry of the Fates itself, to make decisions and make changes to the tapestry of the fates, based on what they did with their visions. The only other distinction is that seers saw glimpses of the future and only Oracles and Prophets gave actual prophecies, along with the fact that every Oracle was a prophet, but not every prophet was an oracle.
In ancient times, seers were regarded as normal. They saw glimpses here and there and could help you make a quick decision for something simple. Prophets on the other hand were closely guarded by their patron god, and never easily accessible to mortals. Oracles were closely guarded as well, but were typically accessible to whole cities, giving prophecy and advice to anyone they wished to with little restriction.
Itās probably from that missing knowledge, that the other campers accepted it was normal, how acknowledged by the gods as I am despite just being a seer. But, that was never the whole truth. The campers were never told due to a prophecy I gave soon after arriving at camp, that if it was well known knowledge I was a prophet, I would go missing before I was even 10 years old. As it was, Apollo decided that only his cabin and The Olympians would be told.
I was born in California, to three parents. My father, A demigod, a son of Brizo; A minor sea goddess of Prophetic Dreams & Mariners. My mother, a mortal, but a mortal with a hint of ichor in her veins allowing her to see beyond the mist, the remnants of a god far up in her family tree. Lastly, My Godly Parent. A god who dwells in the underworld with no other children, of any kind.
I was born to an atypical family, 4 years before my birth, my father adopted another demigod, a two year old son of Apollo whose family passed away and the camp wouldnāt be able to care for, volunteering to raise him to keep the fellow demigod out of the foster system.
I started having visions by the time I was 4 years old, and by 6 years of age, both my mortal parents had passed. My older brother and I made our way to Camp soon afterwards, and upon stepping foot past the perimeter we were both claimed respectively by Apollo and Brizo. Apollo arrived to speak to us after we had spoken to Dionysus. It took one look in my eyes for him to tell I was a prophet, and he had claimed me as his own within a moment. Shortly afterwards, we were both placed in Cabin 7. We became year roundersāand grew up in camp. By age 12, I had stayed in camp longer than most other demigods with few exceptions. I grew up alongside multiple friends, Castor, Pollux, Drew, and Clarisse.
But all throughout my years as a prophet after I settled in camp, a single boy plagued my visions. Pitch black hair but with a single grey streak, eyes green as the sea and a ruthless smile. He was older in most of themāwhich felt wrong. I found that to be true, when at the age of 12 I stepped outside my cabin and dragged my eldest honorary sibling out of bed to walk to the barrier. It was a random night, a few days past when summer began. My body moved on its own, the fates themselves guiding my actions. Soon, I saw three figures running, but with a hulking figure behind them. My sibling immediately stood upright, with their bow, reaching out to me to send me for help but unfortunately the fates had different plans. I let one of my rings transform into its true form, a sword, and ran to help.
Percy and I took down the minotaur together, him getting the final blow. His mother was still lost to us, some things woven too deep into the tapestry to undo, but with witnesses who could tell him she wasnāt dead. this time. other roads of fate took much crueler paths.
A month later, Percy, Clarisse and myself left on a quest to find a stolen lightning bolt and find Percyās mother.
A DEMIGOD PROPHETāS POWER
ļ¹āāĖ ā Prophetic visions ā“ Iāve had many visions over the years, some being just of what will happen in training in a few minutes, enough to prevent an unnecessary injury, and others long enough to live through the entirety of a greek heroās story. But outside of how long visions feel for me, in the actual moment to others, my visions only seem to last from a few moments to a few minutes.
ļ¹āāĖ ā Side Effects of a Prophet ā“ Though Iāve gotten into the habit of closing my eyes during a vision, it doesnāt change the fact that my eyes turn completely gold whenever one starts. Itās a wonder that it never gave away my powers as a kid. or is it? the fates are methodical in their work after all
ļ¹āāĖ ā A Prophetās Purpose ā“ While Iām sure The Fates dislike it immensely, I have always used my powers to redirect fate when I can. From nudging people aside so they donāt get injured by a rogue arrow, to demanding the gods bless the cabins to expand magically to fit all the demigods belonging to one in it. no demigod would sleep on the floor of their own cabin if I could help it.
ļ¹āāĖ ā Apolloās Blessing ā“ As his sole living prophet, Apollo tends to be protective. By the age of 8, he had given me a blessing to heal under sunlight after an incident where I tripped and sprained my ankle.
ļ¹āāĖ ā Excess Ichor ā“ Being born to a demigod, legacy and a god does have side affects despite what most would tell you. While it doesnāt necessarily make me less mortal, it does leave extra traces of godly power, Ichor, which I typically use to enhance my body. It doesnāt really have much other use, I can coat my bones in it and make them more durable, or create a layer of it under my skin to stop myself from getting any extreme injuries.
ļ¹āāĖ ā Brizoās Best ā“ As a grandchild of Brizo, I shouldnāt have much power from her, but as she claimed me, it gave me a small boost. I can manipulate water fairly well after years of practice, control most marine vessels with a thought, and on occasion give protective blessings to those at sea.
ļ¹āāĖ ā Detection of Death ā“ Though my godly parent is hidden from view at camp, as nobody but myself and my brother know their identity, my powers do still come out in odd ways despite my lack of use. Iām often drawn to death, not dead people, but rather old spirits, entrances to the underworld, and on occasion hellhounds, which tend to like me and ignore Iām a demigod in favor of being scratched behind the ears. Another aspect is I can tell when someoneās string is close to being cut by The Fates, though I suspect thats partially from my connection to them as a prophet as well.
āI will welcome my mortality, Let me goā

ā¹ ļ¹ļ¹āāĖāøāø ā“ ā ā ā dappled sunlight, gleam of a blade At the age of 8, I was gifted twin rings by Apollo and theyāve rested on my middle fingers ever since. The right, a golden ring that transforms into a celestial white gold sword, with a sun on the hilt and pommel. Itās name is Luz. The left, a white ring that transforms into a celestial white gold spear, with a golden rope hung from its lashing and base so I can wear it when not in use. Itās name is Lux.
ā¾ ļ¹ļ¹āāĖāøāø ā“ ā ā ā ā ā ā ā cotton, cardigans & colors My wardrobe isnāt very large, due to living at a summer camp year round. However it does have a good selection, I wear many colorful cardigans, jeans and skirts. A mix of shoes from hiking boots to mary janes, and all of it made from natural materials. And along with the rest of my wardrobe, my burnt orange camp shirt, faded and with sewn up holes in it after 6 years.
šÆ ļ¹ļ¹āāĖāøāø ā“ ā ā ā trailing grape vines & sharp claws Given to me by Dionysus himself as a form of protection, a pantheress, Luna. She used to be one of Dionysusās favored companions, an immortal feline with a blessing allowing her to shift between any kind of feline form, but was placed with me as a child to protect me once my visions started lasting longer, a guard for when my visions took my sight and mind away to another time, and I could not protect myself.

©ļ¹ļ¹āāĖāøāø ā“ ā ā ā ā leather strings & wooden beads Two necklaces Iāve adorned since I was 6, one shorter with 6 wooden beads and a peridot pendant. My first bead, black with a golden laurel, black for a new child of the underworld to arrive at camp, and a laurel for the year the camp started implementing a new game we could win laurels in, to be able to venture outside of camp for any chosen occasion if won. The second, a medallion crafted specifically for me by Apollo that works both as a visible symbol of his claim on me, and a magical token that works to help me direct and keep control of my visions.

āHi!ā . . . āYeah Iāve met Sol, theyāre nice. Iām not really friends with them though, they tend to keep to themself outside of their small group of friends and siblings.ā . . . āOh! Yeah theyāre a seer, I kind of forgot. They donāt really broadcast it, but sometimes theyāll nudge someone one way and prevent an injury here and there that way. From what I know theyāre not all that powerful in prophecy so!ā . . . āEh, its a little odd theyāre in Cabin 7, but I mean its better that way. Hermes cabin has a lot of kids already, even with the magical expansion so they all fit a few years ago. And their brother is in cabin 7, those two are always checking up on each other so itās better off to have them there, especially since they both got here so young.ā
āSol? Whyāre you asking, are they okay?ā . . . āOh! Yeah sure. Solās my kid sibling, kind of. Theyāre not actually a child of Apollo but theyāve been in the cabin for 6 years and might as well be. Theyāve been openly claimed as a pr-seer! as a seer by Apollo. um.ā . . . āYeah, theyāre pretty good at pretty much anything actual children of Apollo are, other than healing. Itās definitely not their strongest skill.ā
āHuh? Oh hi! Yeah Iām friends with Solis, whatās up?ā . . . āOh their godly parent? dunno. Theyāve never actually been claimed, all they know from my knowledge is that itās an underworld god.ā . . . āYeah, theyāre not really bothered by it though, they have enough on their plate with being claimed by just Apollo and Brizo already. At least those two get along since theyāre both connected through Delos, so they donāt fight over who has more of a claim on them. I wouldnāt wanna imagine what would happen if they did get claimed by a more possessive god, imagine that? Iām glad me and Pollux just have to deal with dad.ā
this took FARR too long to make. I love my pjo dr though itās so very special to me. I donāt think Iāll be sharing who my godly parent is, as i do want to keep some things to myself, and putting it out there for others to see and possibly copy just feels wrong tbh. Theres a lot I didnāt include in this post cause of that so it was a serious struggle to work on lol, but!! its finished so!!! ALSO donāt know if anyone noticed but i said a month passes before we go on the quest, thats cause I actually scripted summer is 4 months long so weāre not always spending our entire summer on quests and get to have fun at camp and actually train before and after said quests too.
anyways, happy shifting everyone!
