Why does no one talk about devaki? It's always "maiya yashoda", but never "devaki maa". If you see krishna's entire life span, he spent only 11 years with yashoda and the rest of his 125.8 years of life with devaki.
I know some idiots will claim "oh but yashoda had to be separated from krishna", you do realize devaki went through the same thing? Separated from krishna for years?
I'm not saying yashoda shouldn't be revered as a mother. I'm saying devaki should get equal importance.
There is a dance video well actually a abhinaya performance on the same topic. It delves into Devaki's feelings on Krishna. Like she thinks about how Krishna would be growing up in Gokul far away from her.
It was very beautiful and emotional because devaki is very less talked about even in classical dance.
It must've been heartbreaking for both moms. Krishna had to leave them at a point of time...

a bit off topic, but nanda was vasudev's first cousin, so when jarasandh attacked mathura and the yadavs had to leave, nanda (and yashoda) realistically would've left for dwarka too. they would've been more at risk of being targetted since they raised krishna, so its not really wrong to assume they would also migrate along with the rest of their kin. so im gonna hc that yashoda and devaki were co-moming krishna for the rest of his life
and yes, devaki is very underrated in the mom aspect. i feel bad for her in that. devaki and yashoda serve two types of doomed mom and i think culturally yashoda has been made far more important than devaki because apparently paalne wali maa>>>paida karne wali maa. yeah no. i refuse to believe that.

Gen 3: au 3 β Chitrangada's son whom he had before dying and was too young to rule (supported by Bhishma) vs Vichitraveerya's sons β Dhritarashtra and Pandu (supported by Satyavati)*
*[Chitrangada's son is biologically a Kuru, while Vichitraveerya's sons are born through Niyog with Vyasa making them only be related to Satyavati. But, they are by the societal norms and law the sons of the previous king so...]
Gen 3: au 3: possibility 1 β Shantanu and Satyavati married and had Chitrangada and Vichitraveerya
Gen 3: au 3: possibility 2 β Bhishma and Satyavati were the ones married and had Chitrangada and Vichitraveerya (making each support the team with their own blood relation) [This is my least favourite one actually but it would be an interesting au if they were married instead]
Gen 4: au 1 β Kauravas vs Pandavas (the usual I mean)
Gen 4: au 2 β Kauravas (100 born to Gandhari) vs Dhritarashtra's bastard sons including Yuyutsu*
*[Dhritarashtra had a few numbers of bastard kids with different women other than Yuyutsu (because be honest guys the possibility of that is not that low). Pandavas in this AU don't interfere, they are settled well in Indraprastha without any Dyut and feud with the Kauravas]
Gen 4: au 3 β Three way battle between Bhurishrava (who suddenly appears claiming the throne through the ancestry of Bahlika) vs Kauravas vs Pandavas
Gen 4: au 4 β Kaunteyas vs Madreyas* (it would be the most traumatic and farfetched au tbh but well... Ehhh not the worst a person can imagine ig)
*[No intervenes from the Kauravas as the throne is passed down to the Pandavas smoothly, and fued happens among the brothers]
Gen 4: au 5 β fight among the Kauravas with all 100 β or some other than Duryodhan β wanting the throne for themselves and rebelling against Duryodhan*
*[The brothers divide into half with Duryodhan's team having the support of Dhritarashtra and Jayadrath and Vikarna's team having the support of Gandhari and Shakuni??]
Gen 5: β Upapandavas with support of Panchalas vs Abhimanyu with support of Yadus
Gen 5: possibility 1 β The Kurukshetra doesn't takes place in gen 4 and the throne was passed easily to Yudhishthir
Gen 5: possibility 2 β Post Kurukshetra feud between the Upapandavas and Abhimanyu for the throne after Yudhishthir
Gen 6: au 1 β Yuyutsu's kids/grandkids (could be born post or pre Kurukshetra) causing a rebellion against Parikshit (putting claim on the throne from Dhritarashtra's lineage)
Gen 6: au 2 β Yaudheya's kids (who were born before he died) vs Parikshit
Gen 7 β Honesty Idt anything can happen in this generation except maybe Janmajeya doing something bigger than what he did in canon and causing a bigger disaster with the Yajnas (ft. Astika the chaddest), ending the lineage once and for all with his death

Gen 8 β Each kingdom (who were related to Kuru family in any ways) quarrelling over who gets the throne after Janmajeya's death and fighting with Shatanika [this just would be hilarious]
