i NEED people to realise foreshadowing is. in fact. a literary device. and not a Bad Thing. the audience picking up on your hints is a Good Thing. because. it makes the story and it’s conclusion make sense. and some people will not see those but enjoy seeing them on a second read through. red herrings are one thing but if your novel consists of nothing but red herrings it’s not a coherent story it’s just a collection of paragraphs that don’t actually plausibly link to one another. you're not fighting with the audience you don’t look clever you look like you don’t know how basic fiction works. be vulnerable for once in your goddamn life and don't treat writing like a game to be won where the audience losing is a good thing.

Once again recommending the book The Body Double by Emily Beyda because I guessed the twist REALLY early on but I was engrossed in the story because I wanted to see how the main character would react when SHE found out.

And this is why Hans being an antagonist in Frozen (2012) didn't work! We saw nothing except for a really nice, kind, gentle, and polite character who happened to be a prince. When he stabbed Anna in the back, we were stunned, and then pissed off. The ONLY clues that this might have been coming was that he mentioned having a lot of brothers, once, who weren't so nice to him, and that his horse wasn't sassy. AND THAT IS VETERAN DISNEY FANS CATCHING THIS. Honestly, they should have leaned more into him being vulnerable with Anna, making statements about how he is often alone and looked over, shoved to the side ... win our hearts a little more and make his betrayal make a little more sense. He just took over a kingdom in three days, almost all by himself, maybe less. Who would overlook him now?

Happy Pride everyone, today is the tenth anniversary of the nationwide right to gay Marriage in the United States and the 22nd anniversary of nationwide legalization of Gay Sex. In 2 days is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

We have won nothing without fighting and we have everything to lose, there is no gay liberation without trans liberation, none of us are free till all of us are free, we have won so much and come so far but the road ahead is still long, we must continue to fight for both our liberation and the liberation of all people

The gay liberation movement is young, everything we have fought for and won happened over the course of less than a human lifetime, and there are forces at play that wish to claw back at these hard fought for rights, we must be prepared to defend what we have fought for and we must continue to fight for improvement

We have to celebrate how far things have come, because we never would have made it this far without joy and hope, and while we can and must fight, we also must remain hopeful
