Yoichi always gets characterized as the victim but I love the idea that he matches Zen's energy to a scary degree. He's good at being cheerfully passive aggressive and unhelpful when Zen is asking for literally anything. It always becomes a snarky Death Note or Kaguya-sama mind game because neither of them can communicate like human beings. Even away from his brother, Yoichi was definitely batting his eyelashes at Kudou and using his helpless first impression to his advantage.

i absolutely need a very specific reason why seeing yoichi hold someone else's hand set AFO off the way it did. i mean AFO thinking that yoichi's hand is only for his to hold is a very solid reason too but i think, personally, that that's surface level rationalization on AFO's part. i hc that when they were growing up, yoichi would hold his hand to feel a semblance of safety and yoichi holding his hand is a very physical display of yoichi's need for zen and zen revels in this, but i would also like to think that there's a small voice inside zen that would also like to say 'don't let go' too but he can't let himself say it or even think it. the hand-holding happens often enough that zen would just snatch yoichi's hand when they go outside or go to sleep when they were young. then, after the killing-of-the-luminescent-baby incident, yoichi starts pulling away when zen would take his hand, and that does something to zen that he didn't like but acknowledging that feeling would give yoichi power over him so he just laughs it off. but then he sees this: yoichi desperately holding onto someone else's hand... the jealousy he felt shocked him like nothing else so he did an oopsie lol

i don't think it has ever crossed afo's mind that he and yoichi are "brothers" in the sense that he doesn't know what being siblings is. bc how he sees yoichi is as an object or a precious thing he possesses the moment he was born. But when the day comes that he finds out that they have a relation bound by blood, twisting its meaning and further solidifying to him that they are indeed connected by something so undeniable, that yoichi was meant to be his—and being twins no less—then that would just be his favorite day now wouldn't it.
