huh for the valentine thing love letter glimmadora
The queen of Brightmoon takes a stroller through one of the many gardens of the castle. She walks along the paths, not wanting to step on any of the beautiful flowers that poke out of the grass. Finally, some down time to herself. So much busy work, having time to be alone hasn't been seen in over a week. It doesn't help that her wife, Adora, is out on a mission as She-ra. While travels to the far corners of Etheria have slowed over the years, they continue to crop up.
She will be back soon but not soon enough. Glimmer sighs as she stops near a bed of golden sunflowers, blooming in the light of their namesake. Come night, they will close up for rest and the purple moonflowers will open up and take their place. The queen reaches down to brush her hand against one of the petals of the sunflower, one of Adora's favorites.
"Excuse me, Your Highness," a voice says.
Glimmer turns her head up, her eyes landing on a fresh out of boot camp guard. They look nervous as they speak to their ruler. In one hand, their staff, even planted on the ground, shakes. There is a piece of parchment in their other hand.
"You don't have to be so nervous," Glimmer tells them, "I won't bite."
The guard clears their throat. "I...uh...have been informed to give this to you." They stick their hand out with the paper. Glimmer takes it.
"Thank you." Glimmer nods to dismiss them. The guard snaps a salute before spinning on their heels and walking away. The queen chuckles a little to herself. It always is interesting the rookies that come through.
"Now what are you?" Glimmer looks down at the paper. Written on the front in blocky letters is her name. Her heart skips in her chest as she turns it around. A sun sticker keeps the letter inside safe and sound.
The queen carefully opens it up and pulls out the hidden scarp paper. In the same blocky handwriting there is a small message that reads:
I hope you are not missing me too much. I know I am having a hard time trying not to miss you that much. As much as I love exploring, I miss cuddling close with you and sitting besides you on the throne. The second I get home, I am going to hug you so damn tight and not let you go.
Anyway, this is all the paper I could find so I can't say much and there is so much I want to say. But I love you so, so, so very much, Glim. I think of you everyday I wake and you are the last thought I have before I sleep. I can't wait to be with you again.
Glimmer holds the paper close to her, smelling the hint of Adora and the woods that always are on her. In the far reaches of the world, this must have been incredibly hard to send here. Tears threaten to spill out of the queen's eyes, longing to be with her wife again. For now, though, this little piece of her will have to hold her over.
