hey remember in the famine horseman episode where everyone was succumbing to gluttony except dean, and cass was more expressively happy than we'd ever seen him stuffing his face with burgers (coincidentally dean's favourite food other than pie, which. could mean nothing.) and "caving" to human appetites/pleasure that he was embarrassed by/ashamed of, and dean was just there by his side, concerned but assured he simply "had himself under control," and when he rushes in to save cass famine reveals to dean he wasn't affected because he was too broken to indulge in anything? to truly desire things? that's pretty much destiel I think

literally the only way dean could've survived a situation where his own guilt decides whether a manifestation of said guilt will kill him or not is for sam to race against the clock to kill the god weighing his brother's soul. no other tactic would have a two brother survival rate. you're putting dean "guilt man" winchester on soul trial and expecting him to do anything other than accept and desire punishment? this man only knows peace when he's on death row or dying for his sins and not even then
