Aerial Bridge in Cape Town Allows Visitors to Walk Above The Trees

This surreal walkway was recently constructed in Cape Town, South Africa which permits visitors to take a stroll above the treetops of the rainforest. Made from steel and pinewood, the Kirstenbosch Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway starts on land and gradually slopes upward giving its guest a stunning, surreal view of the South African forest. Along the pathway, benches are placed to meditate, take photographs and admire the beauty of the view.

Measuring 130 meters long, about 1.5 football fields, the Kirstenbosch Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway was built in over two years with a budge of $400,000 of private donations. Mark Thomas Architects and Engineers Henry Fagan & Partners consulting engineers have given people from around the world an opportunity to appreciate the forest in a unique way without disrupting its natural environment.
