we know that aerion was a glad child once but what if so was daeron, have we thought of that? what if daeron was a brilliant child, the perfect heir who everyone complimented and told maekar how lucky he is to have an eldest like him? what if he was great both at his studies and at his training? what if he was the original "why can't you be more like him" child? what if he changed so young that other than maekar and aerion no one even remembers that he was going to be someone great? what if maekar is trying to push him so hard because he knows that daeron has it in him to be more than a drunkard? what if maekar wanted him to change because he knew who he would change into? what if aerion resents his brother because he looked up to him as a child and wanted nothing more than to be like him, just for daeron to turn out the way he did, making aerion feel like he misplaced and wasted his admiration?
