Many of us have complained about this before, but the Erasermic tag on Ao3 is a mess. It’s so hard to just find Erasermic-centric fics at all, nonetheless good ones! But, I’m stubborn, and sometimes I’ll scroll through pages and pages to find both well-loved fics and hidden gems. Here’s a list of some of my personal favorites, fics that not only have amazing plots but exhibit amazing craft as well. (Definitely NOT a full list!!!! I always takes recs!!!!) 

In the Early Morning by missydogblog

This looks like the first Erasermic fic I ever loved on Ao3??? Honestly, the quality of this fic is the reason I won’t do any major bait-and-switch dream fics for Erasermic; I can’t imagine doing it better than this. 

Blood and Liquor Stains by KuriKuri (rated M)

My favorite KuriKuri fic. Maybe I just have a thing for vampire Shouta, but I think this fic shows off a lot of KuriKuri’s skills as a writer. KuriKuri is plenty popular without my boost, but I can’t deny an excellent fic when I see one.

Story Time by MikeWritesThings

This fic, without fail, always leaves me dying from laughter. The execution of the written narration is what really sells the comedy and I just love this fic to pieces. I’ve actually read it out loud to friends before because it reads so well as a comedy monologue. 

oh, darling, darling by ObscureReference

Look, I know there are tons and tons of post-USJ comfort fics, but this one is CRIMINALLY underrated. It deals wonderfully with Hizashi processing his feelings of having almost lost Shouta and Shouta allowing him to break down for a moment. (You should all know by now that I am a weak bitch for fics with Hizashi getting comforted. If you’re also a weak bitch, then this fic is for you.)

Don’t Kid Yourself by SayJay (rated E, sex scenes)

SayJay didn’t mean to, but they wrote this fic as a direct attack on me and all my worst emotional coping habits. I feel like Hizashi is written as a beautifully real person who fucks up and tries to fix those fuck ups while still kind of fucking up. It’s 77,000 words of DRAMA and I love it. 

Kogane no Kami by LieutenantLiv (rated M, sex scene)

WHY ARE Y’ALL SLEEPING ON THIS FIC IT’S SO GOOD?????? It has one of the most tasteful sex scenes I’ve ever read including a non-binary character and the plot is so dang high-concept and executed BRILLIANTLY. Shouta is a SAMURAI. Hizashi is a SUN GOD. LieutenantLiv has given us a 10 chapter GIFT, and yet it only has 2600 hits?!?!?!!? I say again: CRIMINAL!!!!!
