There should be at least one moment during the events of em1 where Oswald is short and snappy and impatient with Mickey, while Mickey zones tf out bc he's sleep deprived and does Not have the energy to pay attention when he's being berated, and as Oswald storms off Mickey just instinctively goes "have a magical Disney day!"

And he PANICS bc "oh my gosh why in the world would I say that to him that was rude and it's going to make him even more angry" but Oswald is just like "??? Thanks, I guess?" and Mickey remembers oh yeah, this is Wasteland, there's no reason anyone would be familiar with that phrase, and he relaxes. He didn't mean to say it, it just slipped out, but so long as Oswald doesn't know what it means, no harm done, right?

Years later, Mickey is in the middle of a Very Important Meeting with some Very Important Businessmen when Oswald bursts through the door and yells at the top of his lungs "YOU WERE TELLING ME TO FUCK OFF???"

I don't have any particular shipping preferences but I listened to a Song the other day and was struck with the mental image of Mickey being the kind of toon who will start singing when he feels a Lot of emotions, and being around Bugs makes him feel So Much and he finds himself singing more and more around him because it's the most natural way to express his feelings

What I'm saying is Mickey should keep accidentally serenading Bugs

(Full disclosure this is hugely inspired by this post by @nicheydrabbles, specifically the last headcanon bc I have Thoughts about music and singing being important to disney toons, and how many disney movies are very often musicals and the purpose of songs in musicals and how that would translate to disney toons and tie into why those things would be important to them and. Point is. I love this headcanon and I have adopted it. And I would be remiss to not credit the person who gave me a huge part of the inspiration for this)

#mickey mouse #bugs bunny #overworked mascots #is that their ship name? i thought it was the name of an au at first but the more i looked into it the more i think it's their ship name #but i'm not 100% sure #squeaking hours #anyways if u are interested in the specifics the specific song i was listening to was Free from kpop demon hunters #'but that's a duet how does that work for mickey singing to bugs' well u see i was listening to a Cover #and when it's one guy singing both parts it's very easy to imagine the whole song as only one person's thoughts #if u are good at ignoring the original duet context. which i am x #and my specific train of thought is 'mickey singing about the stress of the pressure he faces under disney #and how he's pressured to be nothing but happy all the time. but bugs makes him feel like he can freely be himself. feel freely #and he's yearning for them to run away together and escape the pressure of their respective studios'#very important to me that while he is doing All This bugs is watching him as he sings his lil mouse heart out on a roof in the moonlight #with a gentle breeze blowing and the stars shining making him look ethereal #and thinking about how pretty he is and how lovely his voice is #he will Not be participating in the singing but he WILL be appreciating everything mickey is doing #if u wanted to take the headcanon further u could also go with bugs trying very hard to learn how to improv songs #specifically so he can join in and have a proper duet with mickey #this would naturally make mickey Light Up with delight to see bugs trying sooo hard to speak his language #but i will also take bugs Not Participating in the singing but still being delighted whenever mickey does it #i do not talk much about the looney tunes toons bc i am. simply not that familiar with them. and because mickey is my fave #but i cannot get this mental image out of my head so here

House of Mouse sort of AU where the Disney Core and many of the Disney Mains join together to reopen the House of Mouse club once again after years had passed.

Pete would be the general manager in this AU, preferring to work in the background and help Minnie with the more stressful responsibilities. Especially since he doesn’t trust Mickey in the slightest when it comes to the club’s money. Oswald would be the head engineer and help Horace with the tech since he’s really good at it. Everyone else sort of has the same roles as they did in the show.
