ok, so! Iโve done way too much testing for this. the best place for diamond is lvl -58, because theyโre most frequent at -59- if you do a 3-wide 2-high stripmine you can get at *least* half a stack of diamonds as well as some iron, gold, lapis and redstone. since diamond spawns are now only partially exposed to air as well as lapis having barely any exposed to air, i think itโll be on-par with caving though possibly about as safe. (though you need to watch out for lava lakes because theyโre at -55 now and they generate most below them)
