Neither was he, he just so happen to be thrust into the role. It was not natural talent, there were stumbling mistakes, scars all of it tempered to recognize the signs of when to use those theories of leadership. 

These thoughts were cut off when he felt a pair of lips pressed against his. Smiling, he angled his head a little so he can deepen the kiss. One hand placed on the middle of his back as the other gentle cradle the back of his head in a tender touch. 

“I have faith in you…you have a good heart in the right place.” he murmured softly as they pulled apart, the hand that was on the back of Peter’s head drifted down to rest on his shoulder. 

“Don’t lose faith in others…and others won’t lose it in you.”  

he all but melts in helmuts arms as the kiss deepened, heart full of warmth and love for someone he never thought he’d fall for. not because of his history but because he’s not the usual kind of person he falls so deeply in love with and yet, here they are. he’s grateful for having him in his life. it’s almost disappointing when it ends but he keeps that quiet, smiling softly at his words.

the brit isn’t too sure when he’s mustered the courage to even say something like that, perhaps it due to the past few weeks, allowing himself to be more comfortable expressing his desires to peter. now facing him, he can’t help the way he almost shrinks in his hold, the intense gaze making him shiver. it’s however halted as he’s kissed lightly, almost chasing after his lips before settling himself and listening. oh. cheeks burn hot, breathing quickening as peter leans closer to his ear, speaking quietly. shivering where he stands, he suppresses the tiniest of a whine that wishes to slip past his lips.

swallowing thickly he clears his throat in the process, closing his eyes, steadying his breathing.  ❛  i  -  i think i’d like it if we went somewhere more private.. they might be preoccupied right now but they’ll s  -  see us soon enough and i’m not tryin’ to have us be caught.. doin’ something..  ❜   it was true, whilst they might’ve served the people not long ago, it wouldn’t take long before they start wondering around again and no doubt search for them. if the brit was honest, whilst semi-public things could be hot, that certainly wouldn’t  —  he would be mortified.  ❛  please  ?  ❜

his answer brings a smile forth, almost pleased he’d picked that one over a smoothie. the smoothie was nice, but god, there was just something about steven that makes him want to do so many sinful things to him.  ❝ i can do that. ❞  pulling back from steven, he takes hold of his hand and guides him upstairs, to the office that once belonged to martin li. now, just an empty office, rarely used. 

noting the small smile on peter’s face,   it makes him smile back just as softly.   he understands that neither of them really had time for a vacation,   not with their jobs but one could still try,   right   ?   with a small shrug of his shoulders,   he reaches and digs into one of his pockets to pull two tickets.   with the tickets between his pointer and middle fingers,   he waves them from side to side a little in front of peter’s face as he looks at them before back at peter.   ❛   i  don’t  know,   i  think  we  could  make  some  time  for  a  vacation.   i  mean   …   do  you  really  want  these  tickets  to  go  to  waste   ?   that  would  be  such  a  shame.   ❜   slowly,   that soft smile turns into one of almost mischief,   amusement evident on features.   ❛   i  spent  sooo  much  money  on  them  too.   ❜   in actuality,   he didn’t spend a cent but he needed to convince peter in some way.

that was not what he’d been expecting, at all. he’d only been half joking about a vacation but to have the tickets flashed before his face? it almost made him feel bad for even bringing it up, though... he must’ve had them before he joked about it. it was just a weirdly time coincidence. but then, it had come out of nowhere and -- when were they even for? did he have time to sort stuff out beforehand? 

❛     it’s  always  one  of  those  days     .     ❜      a sigh follows his words as he looks at peter     ,      eyes scanning his features     .      it seems in one way or another     ,      they’re always aching in some capacity     .      ❛     of  course     ,      you  don’t  have  to  worry  about  me     ,     i  always  get  back  up     .      i  should  be  asking  you  that  though     .      are  you  going  to  be  okay     ?     ❜       there’s concern that starts to take over his features     ,      of course he would be worried about peter     .      how couldn’t he be     ?
