a smile breaks out across features, laughing as peter tells him not to take all the good candy. halloween was always the time of the year he enjoyed, just like christmas but then again, who didn't really enjoy those festivities. however, halloween was all about dressing up ( as if that wasn't something he did daily ) and having fun, scaring people and eating copious amounts of candy. it was the night of the year to have the most fun with your friends. shaking his head a little, a chuckle leaves him as he nudges peter with his elbow softly. ❛ too cool ? no way, man ! it'd be fun to hang out on halloween with you. ❜
while he loved his suit, it would be refreshing to wear a silly costume and act like his age, like a teenager. ❛ plus, who else is going to eat all the candy with me ? ❜ he almost forgets about the haunted house, brows lifting as he looks at peter and an almost mischievous smile settles on his lips. it's not like he's been told by mj that peter just so happened to be a scaredy cat ... no, not at all. ❛ that's gonna be so fun, i can't wait ! will i have to protect you from the scare actors if there's any ? ❜ teasing peter, he snickers at the very idea of having to protect his mentor.
most teenagers miles's age would be far too embarrassed to be around someone like him but miles isn't most teenagers. he was so selfless with a heart of gold that never turned away someone in need, and most teenagers these days were so preoccupied with themselves and social media to think about helping others. he couldn't have wished for a better person to become the second spider-man, or hell, the sole spider-man, at current. sure he suited up on occasion when needed or when he felt too antsy. it's a big change from doing it day in and day out to taking a break but he's getting there. he knows the city's in safe hands with miles.
and well, what better way is there to unwind than to dress up in dollar store costumes and be goofy for a night? he laughs at the jab, a hand on his chest. ❝ i'll have you know that i'm an expert at quality control for candy. i have to eat the candy to make sure it's good. ❞ he jokes with a teasing tone and a half grin on lips. just an excuse to steal a bar or two from him. ❝ whaaat? no way. i'm a big brave boy. i can handle scare actors. ❞
back pressed against the headboard, lips curl into a soft smile as he hears the other mention that he should be paying him for his cooking. it was a wonder that a blind man could cook so brilliantly and yet he could, though he could thank many other factors for it. using his fork to cut up the eggs on his plate, he scoops the contents onto his fork before bringing it to his mouth. a hum leaves him at the taste, not too much salt or pepper, just enough. it doesn't take him very long to finish up the food on his plate, though he savors every bite. once he's finished, he sets the plate to the side onto the nightstand, head turning to face peter. ❛ it's my pleasure, you did ask for breakfast in bed after all. ❜ that soft smile still graces him lips, a hand reaches out and searches for peter's until he's grabbing hold and bringing his hand up to his lips, kissing over his knuckles softly.
❛ i don't think you realize how incredibly happy you make me, i haven't been this happy in so long ... ❜ murmured against his skin, he holds onto peter's hand a little tighter, lacing fingers with his, similar to how they'd been doing earlier. kissing the back of his hand, matt lets their hands drop back down to the bed softly. peter was like a ray of sunshine in his life and despite not being able to see it, he could feel it in the way he acted, spoke. peter has a heart that is true and while he may have his moments of doubt, matt would always believe that ultimately at the end of the day, he wanted to help people and be loved. through the radiance that is his boyfriend's personality, matt is quite certain that he wouldn't want someone other than him by his side.
leaning in close, matt rests his forehead against peter's shoulder before kissing it. ❛ i love you so much, peter. promise me that you'll always be here with me ... because i don't think i could make it without you. ❜ his voice is soft, low in volume, almost as if worried that if someone else could hear them ( which nobody could ), it would break this moment between them.
❝ you could have said no. ❞ he points out, though he's glad and grateful that matt did cook him breakfast in bed. and a delicious breakfast at that. a lovely start to the day and he couldn't wish for anything better, or anyone better. lips press to knuckles and fingers intertwine with his, and peter holds onto the hand in his, even as their hands fall back onto the sheets. it's a rare quiet moment and peter wishes it could last forever.
the words fill him with love and warmth and he finds himself smiling at them. ❝ you make me happy too. ❞ and he means that. being the city's hero isn't easy but with matt at his side, it's more bearable, able to lean on him in times of need and fall into his arms when he needed someone to just hold him for a while. there's no problem too big to handle with matt, and he deeply appreciates that and all he's done for him. it's not easy most days but they make it work.
head turns to kiss the top of matt's head as lips press against his shoulder, a sadness in the smile that forms. ❝ i think you're strong enough to make it without me, you've gotten this far by yourself. ❞ matt was stronger than he believed. he just needed to have more faith in himself. ❝ but i promise. you're stuck with me now, for as long as you'll have me. ❞

After that last hard thrust that had the bed slam into the wall, he made it his personal goal to have every thrust be about as hard as that one, slamming into him time after time. he keeps reading even as he tugged a little closer and feels a tongue tease at him, even if he seems to need to take a breath half way through a sentence and then continues on. so far it's not too hard to keep his voice steady, but he knows that won't last long.
do you see yourself getting married and having a kid or kids with mj in the future? are you the type of guy who's willing to commit to a relationship like that when no doubt it could be stressful?
❝ oh. that's ... a big question. um ... i uh ... yeah. yeah i could see myself settling down with her one day. i don't know when or if it'll ever happen ... getting married is one thing but having kids is a big responsibility and with both of our works ... i dunno, that'd need a pretty lengthy conversation. if we were both down for that, then yeah, i could see us making that work somehow. i'm open to at least trying to make a relationship and all its stresses work, if the other is too. ❞

how long do you think you'll continue to be spider-man? you're still young yet but no doubt being your neighbourhood friendly spider-man is taxing on the body.
