"Jaken was Rin's true father figure"
Let's see what the official site of Inuyasha states in the character profiles:
And what Romajidesu and Kanjikana translators say:
So this means he was Rin's nanny/babysitter. This is not meant to slander Jaken's role in Rin's upbringing; but SRs keep saying he was her father even though he was hostile towards her many times. And guess who orders babysitters? The parents or the person in charge of a child (hogosha if we need to be correct). So in conclusion; Sesshomaru put more effort in child Rin's upbringing than his own daughters.
i’ve been seeing the argument “canon doesn’t exist in Japan” and I think that’s… really such a strange argument, because canon exists whether or not its recognized — at least in any competently-written story.
without a canon, nothing in a story would actually matter. Character deaths, relationships, etc. and there can be multiple “canon” universes, but if two stories contradict each other, they can’t exist in the same continuity without plot holes.
as such, the anime canon is a separate canon from the manga canon because they contradict each other. the movies are far removed from the manga canon, and the audio dramas make the characters into caricatures of themselves for humour, because it’s meant to be entertaining.
if there is no canon then there is no continuity, and if there’s no continuity there’s no story so what are we here for?
Besides the fact Shiina called Yashahime a "what if", he went as far calling it as "official doujinshi". This is just like the Don Bluth sequels (save for the Bartok one): his name is shown as the original creator, BUT it was made by different people.
"But-But Rumiko supervised it! She draw them on a poster!" Rumiko also has drawn posters for UY, Ranma, and Inuyasha movies. All of them were written by others using her characters. And of course she'll check on people what are they doing with her handywork; not because the kindness of her heart, but prevent legal disputes and copyright infringment. And I've read somewhere that there were heated debates during the production of Yashahime. Pretty sure Rumiko was vocal about certain changes, but her a single creator can't do anything with the Studios creatives (See Naoko Takeuchi's dispute with Toei/Kodansha)
hey so I've obviously never read the yashahime manga, can someone explain to me why the cousins are drawn so romantically
I think its from a chapter when Moroha was blasted away and Towa caught her in time. Yeah weird incest comedy was inserted here.

10-year-old Sango | 11-year-old Miroku
“9-10”-year-old Rin
“13-14”-year-old Rin
Something doesn’t add up here…
You know the math doesn't work even when SRs are not sure either about Rin's height and age compared to the 10 year old Setsuna.
"Rin was 18" NOT when Kagome states she seen her family last time 14 years ago. I rather trust a woman who knows basic math calculations than a green imp who is not certain about numbers either.

This is always bugged me...
What was the entire point of Sesshomaru marrying and impregnating Rin if he decides to barely spend time with his family? In the anime he give up his Lord title so he have to attend much less duties and mostly depends on Sesshmom's money. He doesn't have the same issue like a commuting parent or someone serving in the military. Yet he chooses being an absent father, only to interfere when it's danger.
In the manga shortly after Towa and co return from the modern era, he immediatly leaves for "buying clothing", and come back days later... only to send them off to China for "training". I've seen Srins hoping him travelling with Rin again for a third baby (mostly a son, as they need to copy the Mirsan family badly). But what are the odds he would treat his 3rd child differently than the wondertwins? Leaving the baby and Rin in the village again and avoiding contact, like he did with Inuyasha during his childhood? Merely using Rin as babyfactoring machine in Zeus-style?
The more I look into it, Se***in as whole feels like a dystopian marriage under the guise of "wholesome and cute" cover.

it's been a hot minute for me, but this is such a weird answer (like the interview answer). "oh they may travel or come back. the possibilities are endless" which is... whatever... but like it really solidifies that this a fan fiction, to me. and sesshomaru reminds me of sasuke (dont come at me, i never finished boruto) where he just fucks off for like years and then just pops up again. useless absent father trope, to the max. it's so boring
I'm not a Naruto nor Boruto fan either, but from what I've heard Sasuke at least "tries" somehow owning up his mistakes as a father/husband. Sesshomaru? Absolutely not.

"But- But Kagura is a 6-8 months old, like a baby. Wouldn't this be creepier than Sessrin?"
Kagura is NOT a baby. Neither Kanna, or the Infant for that matter. They are the extensions (分身- bunshin =clones) of a 50+ Man named Naraku, who was infused with several yōkais. 70+ if you count his time as Onigumo too. That means they are as old as he BOTH physically and mentally. He conceived them by his own FLESH; nothing is related to traditional pregnancy or childbirth. What appearance they take (adult or child) is irrelevant. Their chronological age from how long were they seperate beings is a different matter. Does that mean I should ship Kanna or Hakudoshi with Sesshomaru? Nope. I either going with Kagura or Byakuya because they are closer to Sesshomaru's adult capacity.
Naraku even refers Kagura is his twin. The child part sound more like belittling her than someone using it for their own child lovingly.
The true definition of unemployed
Btw, where is this kind of energy to EXPOSE the child preds from your community? There is a growing list just sayin'. But of course Sessrincels would rather defend their pred buddies than actually calling them out.
Edit: I've found a proshipper called viruszeke who is friends with one of the creeps from my list. Not only they defended Sess*** as well, BUT there is a video about Zeke being disgusting towards minors.
This is why I always hate Sessr***: it's fans and their supporters eventually turning out to be friggin' cesspools.
Every masterpiece has its own cheap rip off
Btw if you can reach moonlichi, inform her about the blatant plagiarism 🙏
Edit: now she tries to defend herself she used a pose for reference, but it is clear she traced moonlichi's art.
If you notice the lines of Sesshomaru's sleeve or Rin's, it is evident it is traced.

Instead of what we have got....
Wouldn't be a better idea if Sesshomaru's lost arm somehow obtained by a random youkai/monk who decided to give life to it? The incarnation would go on adventures and shenangingas until they settle down with a human. The parents would be seperated from the twins still. Sesshomaru learns of the existence of his incarnation and 'daughters' and motivate him to find out what happened. Unfortunately Rin would remain cursed due to her being mistaken as the mother.
This not only would keep the premise of "half-demon twins searching for their parents" theme but it would pull the greatest plot twist in anime history. Without the creepiness factor.
Bonus: How they would look-like (First pic: pinterest, the last two are made with doshi's oc avatar maker on Piccrew)
Me when S***rins screaming it's just fiction even when they are exposed as real child predators for the 1000th time

Since Yashahime is officially over....
I've made a video complication abot S***srin shippers being gr**mers/ gr**mer defenders. Shut out to the people who took the time and effort to expose them. Content warning is at the begginning of the vid, click at 1:02 for the list. The video is beneath the cut.
ONLY WATCH IT FOR YOUR OWN RESPONSIBLITY.
Imagine being so embarrasing that even Lolicons expose them.
And probably my last post. I'm done with the Inuyasha fandom for good.
Farewell.
Well at least the live action remake of Lilo and Stitch didn't turn Jumba into a gr***er.
A new trend among sessrinners that they draw Rin as a demoness/succubus.
And now they are playing the insulted because people mistake her as Kagura due to her eyes are drawn red. They are the ones who say Sesskagus are envious for their ship but then they copy Kagura's traits into Rin. But Sunrise long ago did the same thing with the twins XD
via @quennie93
Even Rumiko Takahashi drew Rin in Kagura's kimono (sans the circles)
"Nobody likes/remembers Kagura" but even after her "death" she trolls them hard, and people will recognize her still.

Sota: "adopts and raises Towa"
S***Rins: He stole her !!!! >:(
Anyways, we stan the hardworking, loving husband and father ChadSota over Virginmaru, who literally left his newborn twins in a forest and let some idiot set fire on them.
So Shiina actually planned that Towa and Setsuna could go farther in the past and meet their adult father and (still) child mother. Given by Shiina's tendency, he would frame Child!Rin and Sesshomaru's moments romantic like he did in the earliest chapters in his manga🤢🤢
Yeah, that would be the twins' reaction too.
