“I want you to be safe.”

“Because I’m yours,” Stiles said. Derek straightened, eyes snapping back up, and his jaw clenched. But then wordlessly, he nodded. Stiles smiled, a shiver running down his spine. "I'm yours."

Stiles brandishes a bunch of daisies at Derek, “Saw these and thought of you.”

In college, Stiles stumbled into a gig on YouTube as an activist for supernatural rights. Now in his early twenties, he loves the work he does - that is, until someone wants to kill him for it.

“When did I become pack?”

The words slipped out before Stiles could stop them. He was asking because he needed confirmation that he wasn’t making this all up, but mostly because he was curious and needed to know when Derek had first started thinking of him as someone worth saving, as someone he wanted by his side, as someone he might even trust, as-

“Stiles.” His name had always sounded better when it came from Derek, but something about his tone made this time different. It made it sound like his name itself was something to be cherished.

“I want him to pound me into the ground.”

Scott, being the complete and utter wimp and metaphorical blushing virgin that he is, predictably sprays coffee all over the notes laid out in front of him.

Stiles Stilinski decides that he’s going to be Derek Hale’s best friend the moment he lays eyes on him at recess during his first day at Beacon Hills Elementary School.

He also thinks—somewhere between spotting the other boy and marching up to the tree he’s huddled under—that Derek Hale is the most beautiful boy he’s ever seen, with gorgeous gold eyes that flare like rays of sunrise, and Stiles would very much like to marry him one day so he can stare into them forever.

“Holy shit, this is a date!” he blurted out, turning back to Derek wide-eyed. “This is a date! You intended for this to be a date, this was supposed to be a date!” He figured if he said it enough times, maybe he would believe it, but so far, no dice.

Derek was scowling again—seriously, did he want wrinkles?—but he just reached into one of the bags and pulled out a burger, checking what was written on the foil in sharpie before handing it over to Stiles.

Isaac is the one who first catches sight of the ring, an entire two months after the captain had joined the 14th precinct. It’s somewhat pathetic, really, considering the fact that an entire floor full of detectives hadn’t noticed right off the bat.

But when he does see it—a thin, silver band so innocuous that it could have just been a trick of the light—he trips headfirst into a recycling bin, earning a dirty glance from his boss through the window of the man’s office and Isaac kind of wants to sink into the ground and never come back out, but he has a duty to fulfill: spreading the news to every floor of the precinct that the captain is married.
