HunterxHunter PJO demigod au headcanons
Gon: Pan (legacy of Hermes)
Gon is a child of the wild, both literally and figuratively. He's well loved by animals and the forest. He's honest as nature always is, but he is also capable of uncontrolled explosive violence and seen in the chimera ant arc.
Killua: Zeus (legacy of lots).
Of course, there's the lightning part, which makes for an easy choice. But what interests me more is that Killua is a rebel. He felt like his family was eating away at him, so he fought and left. Later, he went back for his sibling, who was still stuck in the belly of the beast, and brought her to create a better place for themselves. I just thought that was a really neat parallel to Zeus.
He is not a son of a god of medicine, but he is compassionate for humanity, smart, and doesn't shy away from a bit of trickery. He inherited his godly father's desire to help humanity. If anything else had happened, he would have wanted a career to fix that.
Justitia is the goddess of justice, and justice is blind to status. If justice is not enforced by civic law, he will enforce it himself. There is a reason Justitia doesn't just carry scales, but also a sword.
He may be after revenge, but Kurapika will never pursue and unlawful and unjust revenge. He has no quarrel with the innocent or those who have already been sentenced by the legal system and won't touch them. But those who run free and deserve punishment, he will hunt down.
Hisoka is now Gon's creepy uncle. He's a trickster and a liar; he's quick with his hands and with his wit.
He may not get explosively angry like his godly father, but he does share other traits. Illumi is ice cold. He doesn't understand other people's feelings and relationships, nor does he care to. His love is obsessive, and without regard for others, he does what he thinks is best. And what he thinks is best is for Killua to return home.
His use of needles as a connection to the feeling of a freezing northern wind, sharp and piercing.
Alluka/Nanika: Still and Ai from the dark continent.
I really like the idea of her being something completely different, even among the demigod population. I feel like if she was a regular demigod her parents wouldn't have any reason to be so freaked out by her. But now they're absolutely sure this child is theirs, no deities involved, and she's still insanely powerful, more than most demigods and no one can control it. Even though I don't headcanon her a demigod, I still wanted to include her.
Apollo is the god of music, arts, healing and knowledge. Melody is curious and a lover of music, she heals with it and hears it in every aspect of life.
Ging is witty and intelligent. He's always been drawn to travel and has his bearings, he was always the only one who was able to find Mito when she hid. He loves journeys, both his and those of others, he loves the journeys that have been made in the past, which is why he hunts ruins. He tells and preserves their stories, functioning as a sort of messenger of the past.
Pokkle is a legacy of Apollo, a great-grandson to be exact. He has a talent with a bow and arrow which he inherited this way.
Kikyo Zoldyck: Granddaughter of Venus
Venus is the mother of Rome. With Kikyo that for her children is just as strong but became twisted and posessive.
He's smart and fast. Killing is a job for him, just business.
Silva Zoldyck has to win. He doesn't fight unless he knows he'll win.
I'd love to do chairman Netero and some of the other Hunters, but I just can't place them right now. I might do them later.
The Zoldyck family family is a family that prides itself in common visits of gods. All children are either demigods or close legacies. Either partner in marriage is encouraged to have a child with a god if the oppurtunity presents itself. And as a family with many connections to the divine, they are watched by the gods, and the oppurtunity will present itself.
Initially, Illumi was the new Zoldyck heir, since gods rarely visit more than once, but then Killua was born to a far more powerful god. Illumi is the son of their mother, while Killua is Silva's, making him the more prospective heir on both counts.
Ging either stumbled across Pan by accident or went looking for him for kicks as Pan is a god that hasn't been seen in a long time.
The hunter exam isn't specifically for demigods, but the fact is that those are usually the ones who end up being able to complete it. Just like nen, demigods aren't really known among the general public, and many don't even know what they are
I considered Illumi being the child of a love god since he gives total yandere vibes, as a strong, obsessive form of love. But after some more digging, I thought Boreas was a better fit. Though, through Kikyo he is a legacy of a love god.
Out of our main four, Killua was the only one who was fully aware of his status as a demigod. But he could immediately tell there was something about the other three as well. Killua both takes pride in being the son of Zeus and resents it. He likes being powerful and talented, but he hates the pressure that comes with it.
Kurapika knew as well, but he wasn't raised with it like Killua was. Justitia made herself known to him after the Kurta massacre so he wouldn't be completely alone. He knows he still has a mother who cares for him, even though he has trouble with the fact that she isn't a very present parent. She guided him and kept him safe untill he didn't need her anymore.
Leorio and Gon had no idea about their godly parentage until much later. Kurapika and Killua insist that they're definitely demigods, but neither believes them at first. It's after learning nen and talking to their teachers that being a demigod doesn't sound so out there anymore.
Everybody was sure Gon had to be the child of a nature god, but nobody could put their finger which one. Gon was claimed when he got back to Whale Island with Killua. He immediately went to tell Mito, who hadn't quite gotten over the fact that Ging left a child with her, and when she asked who and where the mother was and left with the anecdote 'I fucked god'. She thought he was insane.
Leorio, even after learning nen, didn't really believe in the gods. Untill he was claimed by Prometheus right in the middle of the Hunter association chairman elections. Everybody was staring at the fennel stalk symbol above his head. He himself swore at it once he noticed it. Even with the knowledge that the gods exist, he still thinks they're bullshit and considers himself an atheist. Que proud daddy Prometheus.
Well, that's just about it for now. As my first post on Tumblr, I figured I'd start with a bang. I might add to this later while rewatching HxH and let me know what you guys think.
