Fantasy Of Spades

So I’d been begging my friends for a novel idea because shit has been falling apart with my other job (long story short, I had two jobs, I’m back down to one job) and I’ve had a bunch of time on my hands. The thing is… I’d have these ideas but I never really liked them enough to stick with it past the character development stage. With that said, there’s this idea that I’ve been all “I don’t wanna share it yet because I see it as a television show for when I become a producer.” *rolls eyes*

But it’s been an idea I had for years. It’s also the one main idea I’ve had that’s been consistent even with all the other back and forth with other possible ideas (ehh that sounds like a mouthful in itself).

For years I let only a small collective group of people read my stuff in (un)rationalized fear of it getting out and having people steal said ideas (I’ve heard horror stories, okay??). And it’s been a major reason why I haven’t shared it completely with people outside of the selective group.

But now that I’ve been thoroughly bitching about “needing a solid, liveable novel idea” to these people, they finally said, “Why don’t you make it into a series of books?”

“How?” Is my question to them (to which they drew a complete blank… THAAANKS!). And finally, my friend Ebony gave me the eureka moment I needed:

“You have some of the shorts done, right?”

Me: yeah?

Her: so… don’t worry about length. Make each short a chapter.

Me: what if they’re too long?

Her: please, as if we haven’t read the…

Me: Oh gawd yeah! The Harry Potter series!!! Duuhhh!!

And thus now I’m gonna take the plunge and write the damn thing… I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAD A NOVEL IDEA SITTING IN MY FREAKING LAP FOR A LITTLE OVER A DECADE AND I HAVEN’T ACTED UPON IT YET!!! Jeeze, I need to get my paranoia in check.

And with that said… I’m off to start from the absolute beginning… and write the damn thing already! I mean, I’m technically half way done with it in my notebooks so I mean besides doing a few more tweaks to some characters and such, I’m already 50% done??

I’ll be updating these adventures as I move along with it. And possibly have some snippets to share tentatively!! Anyone up for it? :)

P.S I’m not giving up on my fanfics either. I need to re-read my own stuff before I can pick up both fanfics where I left off.

Well, okay, there’s two things wrong. First, I think the gadgetry and stuff is all overdone. Sonic didn’t even have this many things at the end of Sonic Adventure 2.

And then, I think what’s really throwing me off is the fact that Sonic’s hedgehog proportions were kept here. In a universe with humans who have, save for Eggman, of course (and his grandfather Gerald, come to think), consistently and repeatedly been shown to be exactly like us.
