âI guess itâs better to hit too hard than not hit hard enough,â Benji mused. âExceptâŚduring practice of course.â
Wouldnât do to break someoneâs nose or foil on his first day back but Clovisâ request caught him a little off guard. He had no idea where the other boy lived and what he wanted to ask himâŚbut-
âThatâs fine with me,â Benji said. âTruth be told I was wondering about two or three things myself but wasnât really sure about how to broach the topic with everybody else presentâŚâ
He had never been one to let on that he often didnât know as much as he claimed to (or would like to know) and especially in a situation where people were coming to depend on him in some way or anotherâŚwell, he didnât exactly want to look like the weak link so soon after joining the team.
âIâll answer your questions if you answer mine,â Benji said with a small nod in Clovisâ direction. âHow does that sound?â
âOh, sure!â Clovis grinned, relieved that he hadnât been brushed off.  He was sure Benji was probably going to ask him about the Shadows and whatnot; he didnât mind.  Heâd answer them as best as he could, and considering that he was the second person to have gotten a Persona, he was pretty sure heâd be able to answer them well.  ....Or maybe he was being overconfident  There was a lot they didnât know about the whole Persona Shadow stuff, after all.  Heck, Clovis didnât even know why Logan, of all people, was the only one of them who could summon different Personas.  Maybe he was getting ahead of himself after all.
Whatever....he just had to roll with it, now.
âUhhh, Iâll meet you in front of the gym after practice then, Senpai!â Clovis nodded affirmatively. Â He gave Benji a semi-awkward, not-thought-out thumbs up, then backed away, still smiling. Â âI have to head back to practice, I think Iâve been on break long enough,â he chuckled. Â âSo....see ya!â Â With that final goodbye, he jogged off, a pressure lifting from his chest.
Heâd have to look forward to dealing with that again later.

jeong/benji languages
âNo, mira, la cosa es que no puede poner la carne en el adobo antes de las papas,â Jeong said in an exaggerated whisper punctuated by snickers as Benjiâs eyes strained to keep his eyes focused on the page in front of him.
âNo entendido, pero supungo que el cerdo sera mas tierno si no cocinas del fuego,â Clovis said a little uncertainly as Jeong tried to contain what sounded like a small hissing earthquake of laughter as though what Clovis had just said was the funniest thing anyone had ever said.Â
Benji closed his textbook with a snap, turning around in the library chair to look at Jeong and Clovis.Â
âI know youâre talking about me,â Benji said, earning a look of confusion from Clovis and an innocent look from Jeong.Â
âWow, ego much?â Jeong snorted. âAs a matter of fact I was just giving Clovis here some advice about how to make the leftovers I brought for lunch yesterday.â
âAnd that was just the most hilarious thing in the world was it?â Benji said.Â
âPork is funny sometimes,â Jeong said with a toothy grin that set Benjiâs neck hairs standing on end. He thought of saying something and even opened his mouth to squeak something out before turning around, dropping his books in his bag and disappearing through the back door, muttering under his breath.Â
âButâŚthatâs exactly what we were talking about,â Clovis said.Â
âYeah I know,â Jeong said, leaning back and putting his foot up on the desk. âKnew he wouldnât believe me too.â
ALSO our dumb boys in pacsona B)c
DUMB BOYS YOU SAY??? ))
This was a bad idea. This was the worst idea. Why did he even have this idea? Was it to be cool? Maybe. Was he jealous? Probably. Was he somewhat desperate to find something he could be good at to make Jeong like him more?
âŚYes.
Heâd only sort of stumbled across the semi-surly, grumbling thug of a boy, but when Clovis looked at him he sawâŚsomeone heâd wanted to be a little more like. Someone who didnât seem to care, someone who followed his own beat, someone like his senpai. HisâŚreally cool senpai.
âCourse, he wouldnât say that out loud, especially not when heâd been focused on trying not to trip during one of the more complicated dance steps Jeong had been trying to show him.
âOkay, dude, itâs like this. Pay attention, aight? Itâs Left, step, right, step, one-two, step, back, step. See? Not too hard.â
Clovis nodded. Yes, it was too hardâŚbut he wasnât going to admit it. Instead, heâd tried the step for the fourth time, keeping his steps slow and deliberate so as not to trip over himself. Heâd seemed to get it the first time, and his heart fluttered slightly when Jeong gave him an approving smirk, but it was short-lived, as his friend had then requested from the top and all the way to where theyâd worked so far.
It had gone smoothly at first, Clovis being careful not to accidentally tangle his feet together as Jeong mirrored his steps to help him keep rhythm, but as the music moved faster, Clovisâ steps got sloppier and sloppier until both boys had ended up on the floor in a tangled heap. Clovis had to slap hands on either side of Jeong and hold himself up to keep from accidentally knocking heads with him.
âS-Sorry, Senpai!!â Clovis stammered, staring down at the older teen.
âUghnâŚsâokay, amigoâŚit was an accident, right? But uhâŚâ Jeong shifted slightly.
âUhâŚwh-what, Senpai?â
âYer kneeâs really close to my dickâŚâ
âFuckâ!! Sorry!â

"Is there? I should be okay then!" Logan was checking his wallet now and saw he had more than expected.
He quickly followed Clovis towards the exit, excited to have something to do and someone to talk to this early. âMe? I came from Johto. Azalea Town. Bigger than Floaroma, but not by too much. Pretty sure there isnât even an arcade there. Iâve been to Goldenrod a lot too, though, thatâs WAY bigger. What about you? You grow up here?â
"Wow, really? Â That's cool!" Clovis grinned. Â "I'm from Unova, Floccsey Town, but my family moved here a few years back. Â I miss Unova sometimes, but Floaroma is pretty nice, too. Â ...I say there's plenty to do here, but it's just enough to fight off your boredom, honestly," he chuckled wryly. Â "Other than that, it's just plants and plants. Â Allergies get bad during the spring..."
He turned to Logan, with a cheery smile. Â "But hey, it's not so bad when you have friends," he nodded approvingly. Â "So what Azalea Town like, then? Â It's gotta be more interesting that Floaroma, right?" He really hoped he hadn't set his expectations too high, already.

He felt his foil break in time and thankfully stopped short of skewering his partner through the padded jumpsuit.Â
Fortunately broken foils werenât all that uncommon but Benji had been whipping his sword around with an unusual amount of fervor, applying a little more pressure than strictly necessary and rending the thin metal in half.Â
"Take five!" Benji called, walking over to the trashcan and dumping the broken sword in the bin.Â
Working with the club had given him more clarity after school in the wake of his rescue. He found himself calmed by familiar patterns of attack and defense that didnât involve horrible monsters or bolts of elemental energy.
It took him a moment to realize someone was speaking to him and he turned around to face Clovis with his faceguard tucked under one arm.Â
"AhâŚClovis, right?" Benji asked, glancing at the team working across the gym. "I forgot you were on the boxing team as wellâŚ"
He wondered if punching monsters in the face differed from punching his fellow teammates and if it was possible to grow strong enough to beat them just by practicing with other students.Â
"IâmâŚmanaging, thank you," Benji said with a dry laugh, nodding to the weapon broken in the trash. "Though I might need to stop skimping on the practice foilsâŚdonât know how many more I can afford to break here."
Clovis' eyes lit up a little at the recognition. Â Oh, good, he wasn't about to be turned away, or at least he hoped not. Â "Yeah, that's me...!" he nodded, lips pulling into a shy smile. Â Sure, he'd been one of the members of a small group that had rescued Benji, but somehow, he hadn't expected to have his name remembered.
He looked at the broken stick-sword in the trash bin when prompted, smile fading a bit.  Hitting too hard, huh?  "Hah, I've been doing the same, lately.  Er, not breaking swords, but, uh, hitting a bit too hard."  Well, there wasn't really any 'hitting too hard' in boxing, but he had gotten some comments about it, at the very least.  "Never quite feels like I'll be able to get strong enough just training like this..."
He shook his head. Â "Anyway, uh....Senpai....I was wondering if you wanted to walk home together after school? Â Just for a bit," he frowned awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck with his towel. Â "There are some things I kinda wanna ask you about, if that's okay?"

Logan smiled as Clovis continued talking. Maybe they would get along well. What were the chances heâd meet a friend this early? âYeah, I think I get you,â he finally said once Clovis had finished.
"And Iâm definitely in for the arcade trip! That sounds like fun! I donât think I have much in the way of coins on me thoughâŚ" Logan checked his bag for his wallet. At least it was in there, but he still didnât know how much money he had.
"Well, we don't have to play anything if you don't want to," Clovis smiled. Â "We can just look! Â There's also a machine in there that turns dollars to quarters, if that helps. Â 'Sides! Â I could always just spot ya!"
He adjusted his bag on his shoulder and nodded towards the door. Â "Let's go, then! Â I'll lead. Â Oh, and if you need directions to get home, I can help you out with that, too," he chuckled, and walked towards the exit of the building. Â "Oh, by the way, man, where are you from? Â What was it like?"

Clovis had never really cared before, but the Boxing Team shared the gymnasium with the Fencing Team at practice.
He'd never really noticed before, but Benjamin Neith was captain of the Fencing Team.
Now that Benjamin Neith was a Persona User, Clovis Chevalier noticed and cared. Â A lot.
This was the first practice session Benji had shown up to since coming back to school, and Clovis kept glancing up at him, half-expecting him to walk over at any moment and demand to know more about Personas. Â Why on Earth did a guy like him want to join them? Â There was only so much he could glean from one's Shadow, and the answer to that question certainly wasn't apparent.
"I'm taking a break," he told his sparring partner, panting and shaking out his wrapped fists. Â He grabbed his water bottle and a towel to wipe away his sweat, and much to the surprise of most people in the Gymnasium - himself included - he walked right over to the Fencing Team.
About halfway through his awkward walk over, he realized he had no clue what he was doing, and became aware of all the eyes on him.  Shit.
"H-hey, Senpai....you gotta minute?" he asked, hearing his voice waver out of nervousness. Â "I was uh...wondering if you were um. Â Holding up alright." Â Yes. Â Perfect.

Logan visibly perked up at the sound of an arcade. âReally? Cool! Iâm sure there was one back home, but I was never able to stop by very often.â
He shrugged at the next question. âI dunno, lots. Just about everything except fighting games, but I have a few anyway. I only brought one console with me though, and it was tough getting that over here anyway. Brought all my handhelds though! A-As for books, itâs mostly sci-fi or fantasy, Iâm kind of all over the place, I guessâŚâ
"Logan," Clovis grinned, "I think we're gonna get along just fine. Â I'm usually all over the board with that kinda stuff too. Â I like strategy games a lot, I think, and RPG's. Â And I dunno about sci-fi, but fantasy's pretty great!" He nodded in approval, crossing his arms and shifting his weight to his hip. Â "Actually....I still stick to young adult novels, when I do read," he chuckled sheepishly. Â "Anything past that is like....too condensed for me," he sighed. Â "It's like, I'm too stupid for that, y'know?"
He shrugged and shook his head. Â "Anyway, if you want, I could show you where the arcade is! Â I have my wallet on me, we could play a few if you want, too," he nodded. Â "Feeling up for it?"

Logan was about to question the statement about Boxing Club until Clovis waved it off as a joke. âUhh⌠That would be great, actually, since I just moved. And I donât really do much⌠Mostly video games, books⌠Not very interesting, I guess.â
He shrugged. He really didnât do much. Liked keeping to himself, really.
"Games are cool!" Clovis grinned, though it wasn't as wide as he would have liked. Â "We have an arcade around here, that interest you? Â Oh, and we've got loads of bookstores," he nodded.
"Actually, what kinda games do you play?" he asked curiously. Â "I've got a few consoles at home and my handheld on me, I play that stuff when I've got free time. Â Ooh, and what sorta books do you read? Â I haven't read anything not for school in a while," he chuckled, a little embarrassed. Â "I could do with a new series."
Clovis: Would you rather your depression be cured but lose your friends, or never have it get better but be surrounded by people who care about you?
IfâŚ.if I lose my friends, the depression would just come back, wouldnât it?  Iâd rather stay as I am now, and keep my friends.  I mean, at least itâs bearable.

Clovis, that was the name. He had stuck out compared to the rest of the students, considering he looked pretty different from the rest.
"Uh⌠sorry," Logan apologized, taking his hand and shaking it a little. "Yeah, Logan. Nice to meet you."
It didnât seem he was upset, so maybe he was like a welcoming committee member or something? Either way, it felt nice that someone had come by to say hi to him.
"Uh⌠did you need something?"
"No need to be sorry," Clovis said with a shake of his head.  "I'm just here to say hi, and maybe try to recruit you to the Boxing Club" he smiled, chuckling at the latter half of his statement.  "Kidding, of course.  That's not my duty.  So, new kid, what sorta stuff do you like doing?  If you're feeling up to it, I could show you around some time."  It'd take a lot of effort, but he could do it.  It wouldn't be hard, just...difficult.

Transfer Student Welcome
The first day of school hadnât been very eventful. Logan been introduced to the class, and had heard a few names but heâd forgotten them all almost immediately. Heâd probably recognize their faces though, it was just names he had a problem with. Either way, it had pretty much been a normal day at school for him, even if the building was different.
Nothing had really come up worth mentioning, really, so Logan was on his way out. At least he was, until he saw someone he recognized from class - at least he was pretty sure it was someone from his class - heading his way. He hoped he hadnât done something wrong alreadyâŚ
Today had been an interesting day! Â A new transfer student had been introduced to Clovis' class and...well, there wasn't much else, he supposed. Â But whatever, transfer student! Â New person! Â Clovis wanted to talk to him, and so that was what he did.
He hadn't managed to stop the kid from exiting the classroom, but he did manage to catch him before he left the school building.  "Hey, transfer student, wait up!" he called out, jogging over with his bag over his shoulder and his shoes already changed.  "Man, you move fast, don'tcha?  I'm Clovis, from your class, welcome to Floaroma," he smiled, holding a hand out for a handshake.  "You said your name was Logan, right?"
