Easy Goer after the Derby
This line from the ESPN broadcast for the 1989 Preakness Stakes says it better than I could:
Two weeks ago, Ogden Phipps seemed on the verge of realizing the dream of achieving the Triple Crown: his horse, Easy Goer, the favorite in the Kentucky Derby. Charlie Whittingham dreamed on, too. His horse, Sunday Silence was the second favorite. Today, one dream still lives. The other died at Churchhill Downs.
