The game Iāve worked on - DICE SOCCER CITY - is now out on the APP STORE!
Build your Town. Pick your Squad. Roll the Dice, and Score!! As the manager of a tiny colonyās soccer club, you must assemble a team of local residents, use whatever skills they may possess, and bring home the glory you deserve.
This game look so fuggin cute. Iām downloading it right now, Iāll probably do a review on it soon.
Concept emotes for my youtube sona, The Space Champ!Ā

GORN, which I think is the past tense of Gore because the game is violent and bloody and Gored doesnāt sound right because it sounds like Gourd and I didnāt fucking pumpkin someone.
Yeah, that was my title buckle in or get out.
Hereās my submission for @nitwzine, with some details too! This was a lot of fun and I canāt wait to see what everyone else created!
I really need to review this game, which means I need to finish it.
I need to finish this game, which means I need to get my life together.
I need to get my life together...
SUPAH HOT FI-R (like vr and fire combined do you get it? Yes? Oh I just asked because you didnāt laugh...)
Super Hot VR is the most anticipated VR game of The Ever. Ā Most VR games are announced so soon to their release, if they are pre-announced at all, there is very little time to really anticipate anything. But I remember people thinking this game would make for a perfect VR game back when I first found it in the yesteryear of 2013. Back then it was just a 7 Day FPS game jam project, it was pretty popular and well received as a proof of concept with one kind of weapon and only a handful of levels. The last level took place in a square room surrounded with doors that would spawn a lot of baddies, the level only ended when you killed so many of them. I could not tell you how much time I spent getting to the last kill and letting myself die so I could replay the level like some sort of jerry rigged endless mode. When the full game came out in 2016 I fell back in love and could not put it down, new weapons, new levels, a full story, and an actual endless mode and I was in bichrome heaven.
If you canāt tell I love this game, and if you are defiant enough not to find it as amazing for me, let me explains what makes this game stand out from your average one man rampage FPS. As the game tells you at the start, time only moves when you do. Meaning whenever you walk around, attack, shoot or even turn, time flows endlessly into oblivion as it is want to do allowing death to reach is warm friendly hand ever closer to you. But if you stay still for once in your goddAM LIFE everything freezes like the game is making a Matrix reference. When played like a traditional game, itās cool mechanic that makes you feel empowered. But in VR, it makes you feel like a goddamn super hero.
So this is a Hardcore style shooter where both you and your attackers take one hit of anything before hitting the ground like a sack of dead body. This makes for intense split second decision making that lets you be the action hero you always wanted to be by making that split second last as long as you need. But moving your head or swaying slowly inches the clock forward. This leads to intense moments where you have to ask yourself if you want to eat that bullet like a jalapeno chicken popper from your local gas station or do you want dive while wearing a thousand dollar VR setup. Trust me this is a question I legitly find myself asking deep into a Endless session.
The minimal color pallet of #ffffff white,Ā 255,0,0 red, and my darkest fears black makes a chaotic hoard of people coming to murder you an almost artistic and easy to digest puzzle for you to solve. You can block bullets with other weapons, duck and jive your way to live another day, or you can even snipe bullets out of the air with your own bullets. This all combines into an experience that is half action hero and half The Flash.
The gameplay is fun, it was fun as a full traditional game in 2016, and it was fun as a demo in 2013. That isnāt in question here, nor is it the point of this lil ramble of mine. Fun isnāt enough in VR for me, I also crave an unique experience to make it worth my time and dime. This game delivers in a way I have yet to see any other game. You really get into the action and invest in a way that no single player FPS has ever gotten me to before. Super Hot VR is now my favorite VR game, and it probably will be for a looong time.
Bods are trash, minds are apps, real spicey.

They expected me to die and I had a great time doing it
I Expect You to Die is an award winning super spy simulator from Schell Games that makes me think spyās do a lot more sitting on their asses than I do in a weekās worth of standing. By that I mean it was a VR game developed for Oculus and PS4 VR that was ported over to the Vive recently, meaning it is a game designed to be played while stationary. This is the biggest separation in the platforms available today on the market and this is the first game I really noticed it in. The first game that uses it is Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but I feel the sitting position in that game is less... forced.
Before I get into that let me say what I loved about this game because there is a lot. Starting with the narrator, a delightful combination of Moneypenny and Q all wrapped up into one smooth british voice guiding you through the gameās less intuitive bits and sprinkling in enough funny quips without feeling like he is trying too hard. The way that almost everything in the environment is interactive in the way I expect them to is perfect to help immerse yourself in the world of high stakes espionage. The puzzles are a decent difficulty that manages to be challenging without being unfair or confusing. The "Telekinesis implantā mechanic the game uses to let the play reach things beyond their sitting position is intuitive and fun, Iād love to see it used in other games beyond a solution for a lack of Room Scale or mobility in VR games, such as a superpower or something. Now for where I feel the game lacked. I stand by my theory that a hero is only as good as their villain, this goes double for spies. This is why James Bond is the golden eye standard, the Lord of the Rings of the spy genre if you will. Jimmy Bond is just a smarmy drunk who does a lot of the sex. But his villains are so fucking rad. Theyāre all properly themed with big world scaled plans all presented in well put together in this huge grandiose manner. Itās the showmanship that makes you want to see their plans get to the very last second if not just to see what nonsense theyāll pull next. This is something this game lacks. I wouldnāt be able to tell you the name of the supervillain Iām thwarting, he doesnāt seem to have a theme beyond generic spy villain. His plans for world domination are vague and the threats donāt seem potent. I hope that this is what they focus on if they decide to expand on this game. Make any dlc or sequels based around a villain with a strong theme and one big doomsday we have to advert. Beyond that the game is a well made puzzle solver that could use a little love and work in the story department, Iām excited to see new things from Schell Games. I give I Expect You to Die a 00 out of 7.
Rick & Morty do a VR
As a huge fan of VR and Rick and Morty I was stoked to play this game, and after playing it I can, unsurprisingly, say it is in my opinion the new benchmark of what a great VR game is. I was worried at first that my love for the show would skew my judgement of the actual game apart from the IP it's tied to, so in an attempt to come from a less biased perspective I had one of my friends play the game first, I didn't listen to the audio and I only checked into what he was doing and if he understood what he was supposed to do. I believe that a good VR game should be intuitive to the player, as complex controls can take away from the immersion of the experience. From what he told me and what I saw the game does a good job of keeping its actions simple, with out making it's puzzles or challenges feel condescending. After playing it myself I feel like the the game doesn't overshadow the source material and vice versa, they work well together and the humor of the show's aloof nihilism really comes through in the game play. From the way you respawn after deaths to the ultimate goal of the game, and thus your life as the character, you understand how the writers care a lot about not caring about anything. Another positive I'll give the game is having it's more gratuitous references be more than just references. For example one of the more creatives mechanics is the Youseeks. In the game you can only exist in your playspace which can be in one of three places of the main setting, Rick's garage. This leaves a lot of space impossible to enter and items out of the reach of your creepy floating hands. The game works around this by giving you this Pokeball like device that you can toss anywhere and spawn a Meeseeks that is, like the player, just two floating hands and a head, with a vr headset fused to its face called a Youseeks. It mirrors your movements allowing you to access things that would otherwise be out of your reach. This game is joint venture between creators of Job Simulator, Owlchemy Labs, and Just Roilands game studio, Squanchtendo, who made the VR game Accounting. Both of those games are basically the opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of VR game play. Job Simulator is a full sandbox game with environments densely packed with different objects that all seem to have some special action or property, such as staplers that you can shoot staples from like an underwhelming pistol, or a two liter of soda you can shake up and let rocket around the room. But the game is void of any form of narrative, something I dislike despite understanding that it was probably done to drive home the mundane feeling one gets from a nine to five job. Where Accounting is a game that tells a really thought provoking, if not messed up, story that you are at the center of. While the story of the game is full the environments feel empty, mostly to not confuse or distract the player from progressing through the game. It's meant to be a 20-30 minute experience depending on how much you love hearing Justin Roiland squawk nonsense at you, something I am a huge fan of. I feel that Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality strikes a happy medium giving you a good story that showcases the very interactive environment and I would love to see more games follow in this one's footsteps. Build an environment with a toy-box worth of things to play with and then tie in an interesting story that encourages you to have fun with them. The new evolution of the Point and Click adventure game the ironically has no pointing or clicking. I hope to see more from these two studios both by themselves and together, maybe DLC for this game or perhaps a sequel, though I feel these two studios could probably knock an entirely new IP out of the park. My one complaint is that the story is a bit short, only about two to three hours long, and kind of leaves me wanting more when there is no indication of more coming. But where it lacks in story I feel like it more than makes up in environment and things to do, even if those things are pointless, just like our sad confusing lives. All in all great game, a good buy even if you don't know about Rick and Morty.
