These designs are based on my previous designs. I have selected the three ideas I liked the most, and developed them as three separate garments. I have included comments on each design from my target market, as well as clear labels for each one. The illustrations show off a front and back view of each idea.

These are the next batch of designs, narrowing down and adapting the first group. On the left side of the page are some examples of my 3D modelling work. I attempted to reproduce my initial designs on a stand, using pins and newspaper. Not only does this help me see how my designs will behave and look on a model, but using the newspaper also prevents me wasting fabric! I drew on any pieces I couldn't model myself, labeling what was being shown, and adding notes as to how well it worked, and how Ii thought it looked. This really helped me come up with the designs shown on the right. These designs take my favorite aspects of the designs, as well as the ones that had the most pleasing aesthetic. They will come in handy on my next page!

These are my initial designs! I went wild on this page, trying to incorporate fun and original ideas based around the things I’d collected on my mood board. The designs are a little out there, and some aren’t particularly suitable for my target market, I will admit. but they will be worked on, I guarantee that. The drawings include close ups of details, and detailed labels explaining what things are, and how they will fit into the design.

There’s not much to explain on this one, other than the fact that this whole page is one big, bright mood board! Its a way of collecting things to spark ideas for my design work. Some things here include usable colors, fabrics and patterns that all fit the theme of bees. Its quite bright! The things on this page come from lots of sources, including magazines, the internet, newspapers, posters and even my own artwork! Honey is such a pain to draw

This page is here to sum up all my work and research so far, summarizing what I've learnt from my findings, and how it will influence the next stage of my work. The page also has my design specifications. Which, in short, is a list of all of the stuff my product HAS TO HAVE. NO EXCUSES. This list stems from what I have learnt about my target market, and my objective to produce a sustainable product.

the left side of the page is research on sustainability, explaining what it is and how it applies to textiles. I also decided to research the history of Letterman jackets, including their production, what they are typically made of and what they represent in american team sports. The other half of the page is dedicated to research on my theme, and is assembled like a small mood board for things fitting my theme of bees.

This page contains a customer profile (left) which gives me information on who I’m designing a product for. This helps me look for styles of clothing I could consider making. The information I used for this came from a survey Ii sent out to my target market. The shop report (centre) gives me information on what the NHM shop already sells. This could show me possible gaps in the market, or products that are already popular and will sell well. and the product analysis lets me look at what Jackets are already being made, and what I liked about each one. This really helped my design work!

All very valid, and necessary, questions!But eventually, this page was compiled, and proved to be of great use throughout my course.

This is my front page! I have blacked out my name and school details for obvious reasons, but the main text sets up what I am beings set to do in this course. I was happy when I found out we were using nature, as I have been studying aspects of nature in my art classes for months now, so I had lots of references.
