To this day i have no idea what “problematic media” is supposed to mean. Because i know what it would mean in terms of actual definition, “A piece of media that shows offensive or harmful attitudes/ideas”. But like. Literally every media probably shows some offensive or harmful idea at some point. My Little Pony had the episode with the buffalos, there’s a Marvel comic where Captain America is portrayed as old-fashioned and out of touch for not being understanding of an incestuous relationship, Percy Jackson has an guy in his early 20s admitting his love to a 16 year old (that he’s known since she was 7 and he was 14), DC has a lot of stuff that either gets retconned or only exists in one continuity (ex: Hal and Arisia, Bruce and Babs, Bueno Excellente, etc), and way more but I’ve never seen anyone call these media problematic, even though all these things are very well known in their communities or outside of them. So is it just like. Vibes?? Or is there a benchmark of “It can have X amount of bad things before it itself is Bad”

i wish there was a way to block someone on tumblr and never see their posts, even when reblogged by someone else. like if i block someone for being racist, why tf would i want to see their posts at all??
