saylor doesn't remember anything about his life before his moms; abandoned at a local fire station and placed into foster care from then on, his mother is qualified as missing only a few days later — though no one really makes the connection between baby and woman until later, and by then it's already too late.

he's placed with his mama's from infancy and is their youngest child – treated like such because of course he's doted on. a motor mouth by the time he realizes people listen to him, saylor doesn't know any better than to crave that attention. it's like he was born to perform (or, that's what he tells his mamas). he's placed into every activity they have time to drive him to or can think of by the time he enters school age. grows bored quickly, but makes friends easily.

there's the typical things in the house — spats between siblings, the constant in and outs of foster siblings, worries about money and generally about the aspect of gay parents in the 2000s. the house was chaotic, but it was never without love; saylor never felt othered or different, and his moms instilled things in him like kindness and humility. 

flies through life like everyone loves him (and it's true a bit but actually not – ) and he's playing this shit on easy mode. high school was a breeze. class clown and a football player (wasn't any good, mostly for show) and helped around his moms when they needed it. tried to be a good role model to his various little cousins and shit – though he's not exactly someone they look up to.

goes to college, joins a frat bc of course lolol and studies computer science. honestly, he's kind of just there for the parties and not because of any true interest in a career (he learns midway thru that this is NOT his passion despite his 12 year old self whispering in his ear at the time, but he's not a QUITTER) and finishes it but disregards it in general and instead goes to work not in the field. because of course.

gets a job at rewind when he's just about ready to graduate, and over the years he's able to work up to assistant manager because he's kind of just the only guy left there to do it. he knows it in and out because he's never had any other job, and at this point, he's too scared to switch careers (to what???).  at a certain point, saylor wonders if they're going to be metaphorically stuck in cascade forever. there's far worse places they could be.

tidbits and miscellaneous.

currently lives with his 3 best friends and they kind of have a weird polycule vibe going on — lifelong friends since middle school and it's a whole thing. idk how to explain it (also a wanted connection i haven't submitted). he worries about them wanting to ‘move on without him’  and sinks his claws in any way they can to keep 'em round.

in lieu, extremely clingy and needy as a person when he feels insecure (which is becoming more often). often needs reassurance people still fuck w/ him and tends to be all up in his favorite people's space (your personal space is his personal space, thanks) which often gets taken as flirting. which it is sometimes. but also sometimes not. he's mutlifacted. 

incredibly introspective, and tends to read people pretty well (but also misses the mark when he's too anxious to see red flags). tends to feed off vibes and isn't exactly graceful with his words but he tries his best. 

huuuuge mamas boy. entirely grateful for the life they provided for him and kind of envies how much they seem to still (at least, from his perspective) are still in love. he's kind of obsessed w/ the concept of love, but has never had a long-standing relationship for more than a year. 

does not believe in the mysterious but also doesn't not not believe in it. to be entirely honest saylor hasn't really cared or thought about it beyond old ghost stories his oldest sister told him as a kid to spook him into leaving her alone — but he's open to being convinced by the right person.

a general puppy dog demeanor, and doesn't tend to be mean except by accident. he's very passive; unless you truly upset him, hurt his family or friends, you're fine. unless you're an absolute dickhead, then he hates you (and holds grudges. for forever.)

his mamas + his siblings!!!!! the moms are on the wanted connection page, but the family is extremely close. saylor is the baby; i imagine the rest of them are likely a small bit older (30+) and he was vvvv doted on (maybe they hated it). extremely close – vacations and trips and he's babysitting their kids or what not.  i'd also  like to see past foster siblings, as i imagine a few had crossed through the doors of their home. 

his besties / roommates / ummm something.  this one would require some extensive plotting, but he currently lives with 3 of his besties – and they're so close they kind of blur the lines of just best friends with besties who are so close they have dating allegations and it doesn't help they kiss when they're drunk or whatever. i'm kind of picky about this one (25 - 28 yr/old fc + character just for me #comfort). i imagine they've been best friends since middle school and have never left each others side since. lots of messy feelings and dynamics afoot.

birth mama. she was best friends with his moms (not planned that he would be adopted by them, but likely due to location) and disappeared for one reason or another. saylor has no idea who she is, but he's always been curious. #need extensive plotting.
