Holographic Lust. When JD was approached for his original work of 'Holgraphic Lust' he was adamant that he should remake it. An old project that the team at SAYL stumbled across on a well know musically social media based site that uses a cloud as it's logo :) JD was asked for his consent to consider the track for release, what were were not expecting was the utterly brilliant level of professionalism that then followed from JD. The Toronto based producer then went away and remade his track with aplomb and brought with it - four remixes fully mastered sound digitally upper level. The 'Holographic Lust e.p' was born and it's mediator Soundasyoulike. The JD version has a raw feel and is tech-deep. Listen to this one as if you were gearing up for a battle with your deadliest foe or if you were readying yourself for an ultimately life changing night out somewhere. Sounds deep right? Listen to the track, you will see what we mean. The remixes that follow are all with their own take on this wonderfully chest thumping tech-deep material. The Night Vision version takes somewhere futuristic while the Chicaiza remix belongs deep under the surface of all commercial based nightlife, imagine a basement built club you stumbled upon whilst exploring the streets of Prague and you know that this version is not out of place here. The Yuri version is right up to date, it has a deep/future/garage/tech/yes feel to it. Aptly titled 'Yuri's Abstract Mix' this version is non-conventional, very original and properly decent. Which brings us to the Christian Orlo version. This one has a future deep chill feel and has width and an eerie background to it. Thought provoking and magic. This shit is magic. A remix of a classic. It's been done a million times :/ Nonetheless a remix well worth putting my hand to. I hope i did the original some justice. Influences for the remix include the original track 7" album version which people actually forget about and they usually end up playing the single release which is wack and has no piano. Also the likes of Robin Mood, MK, Monkey Safari and Haim i had on loud in the studio whilst looking for some inspiration. Not an easy tune to remix if i am honest and total hours taken with this one exceeds 50 which is way too long for a remix. Was actually a really good track to master and the process of mixing down my own music and mastering it is becoming more of an accomplished skill nowadays. The aim is to keep making music that i love and mastering it myself until i am ready for making hits. With each production and each hour in the studio comes a bit more knowledge and i could not think of better ways to spend my time. Big ups to the guys who are smashing it at a young age and just simply have the studio knowledge and constant flow of creativity. This is something that i wish i had but to be honest it just doesn't go like that. Studio work and knowledge does not come natural to me so i really have to work at it and study and put the hours in. Sometimes it's a fuckin' struggle for sure. Sometimes 3 hours can be spent in the studio with nothing happening at all (we call this 'button pressin'). Creativity is key in the studio and creativity is good for the mind and for the soul. But personally, creativity does not free flow like the waterfall, it sometimes is just like being in a desolate land waiting for the rains to come.
