He gently shook his head from his initial confusion lightly, Wes listened to his words, his concerns and want of the party not going into discord still firmly in his mind.

All they wanted was lovely, maybe lively party where no one was at risk of dying, though his friend always had other plans, probably of putting party  poppers near the throne, being a natural trouble maker.

The sudden arm around his shoulder made him smile, although his small, toothy grin faltered when the other mentioned him in lead, meaning that the mime was probably being offered a dance as well.

He worked around the arm sling and raised his hands, shaking his head with a nervous demeanour, inching towards the drink table. He was not very confident in dancing, especially in an environment like this, and with what was probably a very animated person. He’d be content in finding something to drink or something.

     Wortox cocked his head towards the side, his grin growing comically confused as Wes slipped out and most adamantly insisted against his request.

“ My, my, I’ll never understand mortals fascination with liquids where such ailments could be inflicted, ”   he murmured, mostly to himself. Though he nourished himself on the souls of the departed, so was he truly in position to pass such judgment?

     Still, his toothy smile returned within seconds and he urged the mime —  more circled and invaded the personal space of, a special talent of his, truly  — back towards the open floor.

“ Come on, my dear friend! Come dance, have a blast! Where’s the point in a party if we can’t be hearty? ”

     To emphasize his point he did a quick handstand, pushing himself into the air where he soul-hopped back upright besides Wes with a small spin. He did seem rather insistence on the whole ordeal, he was starting to get a little bored and this seemed like a perfect excuse to burn off some pent up energy. 

     Why, even the Queen herself seemed surprised by this change! Was this the work of those in disguise? With Their plentiful eyes? The ones he’d heard so much of throughout his travels? He had a feeling this was a mystery that was yet to unravel! 

     How very strange indeed.

     In the distance he heard ol’ Krampus’ hearty laughter, even fainter the cries of his nearly forgotten mother. Well, that's not a very nice prank to pull! Alas for Them, he’d long come to terms with his past. Still, he waved merrily to the shadows with a toothy grin before turning his back and returning to his mortal companions.

     While he had been anticipating something more interesting than a simple ball, and quite interesting indeed this would be, he would hate if things were to end in needless bloodshed. He’d rather been enjoying his time frolicking with others, thank you very kindly.

     Wortox snickered at the mime’s signs, pretending to take a sip from the empty cup he’d nabbed earlier   ( he had no intentions of upsetting his insides for the poison mortals considered a delicacy, no siree! ).   He’d been expecting something more flashy when he’d first heard of this quaint event. The few parties he’d seen and attended in past   ( though rarely invited )  had always been so colorful and loud! Still, it truly did seem as though his mortal companions seemed to prefer it simple. What a terrible shame.

“ Tu n'es pas drôle, mon cher ami! ”   he playfully complained, tsking with a wave of his claw,   “ Besides! I quite assure you that our most lovely of queen’s has nothing on me, that indeed I’ll guarantee! I, for one, think we could use some more excitement to brighten us all within our confinement. ” 

     His words were truth, but he knew that, ultimately, he wouldn’t do anything too drastic if it upset his friends. Carelessly, he dropped the empty cup onto a nearby table and with a twirl, Wortox draped an arm across Wes’ shoulder after their little display.

“ Hyuyu! ”

     Wortox snickered at the mime’s concern, perched on top a chest he kicked his legs and stretched out languidly without a care in the world. The whole ball ordeal had made him considerably cheery. Finally! Something delightful to look forward to within this odd, odd world.

     Quite a shame that his dear companion seemed to hesitant to agree with him.

“ Oh my, rest assured that you’ll be quite alright throughout the long night! ”   he sing-songed, “ I simply cannot foresee that our dear and lovely Queen would wish to ruin her own ball with such a massive brawl. ”

     ...though it would be a fairly amusing prank to pull, one that he would probably consider if he were the one in charge.

The Constant

After the... incident, with Krampus, Wortox left the world ( albeit unintentionally ). Eventually as he learned to fine tune his abilities and powers he Would return to the Constant but never stayed for too long, not quite sure where he stood with the odd world.
