Happy FMA day guys!! NOW LISTEN. I can’t even explain what this show means to me in so many aspects of my life. I was introduced to FMA a billion years ago, back when my infant weeb ass attended anime club at a new high school my sophomore year. That’s where I saw @crabbykurisu and @jaiijuu in cosplay performing Ame No Ho Wa No Thank You for one of their friends. She’s gonna have to kill me now, now that I’ve mentioned our -dark- past, but THAT was my introduction to the wonderful world of FMA. That’s how I ended up befriending my amazing friend Jay and my now fiancée and how she got me to watch the show, and needless to say it became my all time favorite. Through her, I met her role play FMA family, @shelby_catalano and @losermachinejunkie (who we still call Al and Winry 😂) and they’re like some of the actual best people I’ve been lucky enough to call my friends and I’m so grateful they adopted me into their family unit. We still get together for reunions 10+ years later even though we are hundreds of miles apart and it’s SO hard because of jobs and adulting and all that crap, but we always find a way because that’s the type of family this show created for us. Like, FMA means all that to me and still more. Not even touching on what an amazing story it is because if you’ve seen/read it, you already know. Driving back to Orlando today, I was reminded of how grateful I am to be surrounded by such an inclusive community. This city is strong and resilient and refuses to let senseless acts of violence smother it’s light. To watch so much love and unity pour from the cracks that hateful acts create, couldn’t make me prouder to be a part of this LGBTQ+ family. I will remember the ones who lost their lives two years ago. I choose to honor them by living my life however I damn well please. I will love hard, I will love fearlessly, I will love without prejudice, and I will love with pride.
