I'm still so fascinated by Vox's sinner anatomy and what is implied about it. Blood flowing through cables (implied his whole body is made up of them btw), head has adjustable settings that he has to obey (ie volume), Can connect himself directly to other technology no problem, head functions as a phone, can replace his own head (despite regeneration), etc.
He is FASCINATING.
I wanna know how much is biological and how much is mechanical. How 'machine' is he truly. How he feels about replacing his head, what the process is like. What does being a demon like this for 70 years do to your psyche. How human does he truly perceive himself as. What other mechanical aspects are there. What else is different. HHHHHHHHHH
I can't get over how it's the perfect torture for him, too. Vox is a perfectionist who is constantly striving to be the absolute best, to always be on top. But technology is constantly evolving, so he can never be content with how he is, because there will always be room to upgrade.
He sees being mechanical as a perk because it means he can easily tweak himself to make sure he's perfect, but he doesn't realize that the constantly bending over backwards to keep with the times is actually slowly chipping away at his psyche and driving him insane.

So like, the only real choice Varian has in S1 is to fight back, right?
He can't contact Rapunzel, can't count on any help from any authority figures, can't get help from the general populous, so his two options are Fight or Flight.
Now leaving the country sounds like a better option, but keep in mind that he's a freshly traumatized orphan with some burgeoning mental illnesses, who in this scenario just had to completely abandon everything he's ever known. And given his general... everything, his chances of falling in with a bad crowd or getting manipulated by basically anyone who can fill a parental role are astronomical. Provided he doesn't just starve on the side of the road or get taken out by a random bandit, of course.
But the thing is that'd be the least of his worries, because Varian is far more of a threat to Corona outside of it than in. Imagine what happens if he finds his way into, say, Equis or Pttsford? His firsthand account of not just the rocks, but how he was treated and why he had to leave could destroy Corona's reputation on a massive scale. Because him leaving means he knows that the masked men work for the government, otherwise leaving the country is pointless unless the goal is to leave the seven kingdoms altogether. And depending on the timing he might still have the graphtyc on him, putting another target on his back.
All of that would probably result in an even more dogged manhunt than before to prevent him from talking, so running would only make things far worse for him.
So paradoxically deciding to stay and throw hands is the option that keeps him safer than running.
I don’t think Varian could have even made it over the wall without being spotted, which means the closest exit wasn’t exactly feasible.
And then there’s the roads, and we see Varian is terrified of highwaymen
This is either because of their reputation (fair) or maybe he did try to leave and had a run in and managed to escape but not without another new trauma
Like I can’t get over how he did not have any other choice. He just didn’t, not the way things were shaping up. Sure he could have tried to give Rapunzel another chance, but let’s be honest, Frederic would have had him locked away anyway.
vivziepop confirming vox wouldve been happier if alastor accepted his proposal to work together as partners
amir saying alastor was most likely the reason vox branched off to wanting to take over heaven in the first place (he also says alastor caused his “bruised ego and maybe something more”!!!???!!!)
christian saying if alastor and vincent met when they were alive theyd probably be kindred spirits??
they want them to be canon so bad

Ya know, that soft sense of familiarity between Alastor and Vox was really understated.
Vox is annoyed with Alastor's constant rambling and doesn't react at all to his weird chair yoga. He knows his favorite drink and keeps him around without actually needing him rolling around the tower like a little freak.
Alastor is not surprised by anything Vox does. He's annoyed, but never caught off guard by the victory lap or weird smoothie date outing.
They get on each other's nerves, but they are way more comfortable around each other than they let on.
These ‘find the difference’ games are getting more and more difficult smh
What if Vox and Alastor never had a falling-out and were actually super close?
And the Vees and the Radio Family got along perfectly as well?

In another universe they got to rest together after all that </3
Shock.wav geting Alastor had nothing to do with the Lazer. If Vox had simply not shot the lazer shock.wav would have brought Alastor right to him.
And we know the state Alastor would have been him when he got there if Shock.wav had delivered him.
Like Vox you fucking got him put the gun down.

Been reposting these on twitter for filler posts and thought it'd also be a good way to introduce the Sitcom AU on here. Well, not really introduce, we have an info post planned for that, just... Show... I guess. Texts above are songs that inspired the gifs (These were also originally for Radiostatic Week and StaticApple Week)

the ending scene of it's a deal (including don't you forget reprise) from val's perspective
it is so fucking funny to me that vox and alastor were just doing all that shit right in front of him when he was in THE SAME FUCKING ROOM the whole time lying in vox's bed
I love that Vox brings out Alastor's humanity. I love that Vox allows the audience to see who Alastor really is behind his perfectly poised charade - the man behind the mask Alastor wears. The unhinged, witty, psychotic freak.
Just compare Alastor in season 1 to Alastor in season 2. The way he interacts with almost all of the other hotel members. Always maintaining a show of poise and power, posture erect, chest out, projecting an indifferent or unreadable expression. He is vague, indirect, polite but impersonal.
The only major exceptions to this are either when he is around Mimzy or Niffty, or, if he is using the appearance of affection for the benefit of manipulation. Even then though his posture and appearance is rigid and clearly insincere.
Now compare that to season 2 as soon as Vox shows up. Almost immediately pretense falls, he doesn’t need to play the role of the perfect hotel host or the scary Radio Demon. It’s just Vox.
It’s the first time that he can just say what he wants and do what he wants because Vox already has seen all these facets of Alastor. He knows who the guy is and Alastor already knows he has Vox’s respect and admiration. What’s the point of overselling his persona bullshit?
It literally gives the feeling of Alastor, the professional out in public vs. Alastor who is coming home at the end of the day and can finally let loose.
He shows his anger, his annoyance, his fear, his displeasure, his obvious discomfort around Vox. Even in Season 2 during his confrontation with Lucifer, despite how angry and uncomfortable he was he HAD to maintain the perception of control.
Where with Vox, he doesn't care if he shows any level of vulnerability. In part because he doesn't need Vox's respect or to pretend he's superior to him (he already knows he is). But also because it's Vox. The two have 70 years worth of history. There's a familiarity there that breeds easeful rapport whether either would care to admit it.
The fact that Alastor feels comfortable enough around Vox to even lose his shit. In Season 1 during the infamous "Fuck you" scene between Alastor and Lucifer, Alastor despite his rage is still trying to maintain a semblance of control over the situation. His posture his straight, his ears are pointed forward, he isn't allowing himself to physically show his unhappiness in his face or form.
But in season 2 we see a moment where Alastor genuinely is telling someone, "I hate when you do that! That thing you do actually upsets me and pushes my buttons!" Yeah, it's funny and it makes Vox look like a creep, but it is also one of the few instances of Alastor showing vulnerability and admitting to someone else that their behavior actually got under his skin.
I can't think of a single other instance in which Alastor has willing admitted out loud that someone actually got to him. Especially not in public in front of an entire audience.
It's just so delightful to see Alastor actually show emotion and express what he's thinking for once out loud!
