Me, please, I'd like a poem! ⼠Congrats on the amazing milestone!!
Whatever you like, writing partner of mine. <3 And thank you. I never would have even tried without you. So, hereâs the first specialized poem for the one that encouraged me to start it all.
 Mountains of distant blues,
 And swirling mists,
They call for you, beacon you.
 But theyâll have to wait,
Until the fairies have finished leading you,
Through the rich scent of the forest,
And the elves twirl you through the trees,
Just like they had to wait,
For the sirens to finish singing for you,
And the mermaids to finish showing you their reefs.
Youâll climb the mountains when youâre ready,
Not a moment sooner, not a moment later.
The dragons will greet you with gold and fireworks,
oops. well. itâs been like a month since I logged on :â) My energy for logging into Tumblr has been really low (thanks depression), so yeah. Thatâs why Iâve been majorly inactive. Sorry about that, chief!
For your shades of purple ask game, Lilac, Lavender, and Wine.
Thank you for sending in! :D
Lavender- Describe your best friend(s).
I have two. One is my amazing writing partner! (Hint, itâs you âĽ) Sheâs a fantastic writer, always willing to help and give advice, is ambitious, and unfortunately lives so far away so we canât visit each other 3: but we talk every chance we get and I always look forward to it âĽ
My other best friend is someone who is fantastic at art. We like to share memes a lot, she has a great sense of humor, and is even a really good writer despite not being seriously into that aspect. I adore her with all my heart. (but she also lives super far away, sob)
Lilac- If you knew you couldnât fail, what is one thing you would do?
Work on one of my WIPâs and actually FINISH the damn thing. I swear, I canât complete a project for the life of me >.>
Wine- Give a random fact about yourself.
I can cross each eye individually (and both at once if I want).

âItâs you or them, darling, now whoâs it going to be?âÂ
The whumpeeâs eyes flitted between the whumper holding a knife at their friendâs throat and the own knife in their hands, pressed against their stomach. They wavered.
The whumperâs gaze hardened. âClockâs ticking.â
TW: self inflicted injuries, character death (suicide
Continuation of this drabble.
Altyr searched tirelessly for two months to find Kaiden. Heâd barely slept, barely eaten, and had put all his energy toward saving her from Aarid. He promised her he would make it right, and every day that passed tore himself up inside even more.
Rheld was often busy defending the border, and hadnât been available to help for the past month now. But Altyr wasnât in the army and he abandoned his work and was barely at home longer than it took him to eat and sleep for a few hours before he was back out there again, looking for her.
The thought of what that man was doing to her was unbearable, and that was what kept him going.
But now, seeing Kaiden after all this time, almost felt like a dream. She was here, standing in front of him. His joy and confusion was so great that he barely registered that Aarid held a knife to his throat from behind, barely registered the blade in Kaidenâs hand. Until Aarid spoke.
âI hoped to run into you.â Aarid snarled into Altyrâs ear, a grin on his face. âWe had so much fun last time that I thought we should get together again.â
âKaiden, run.â Altyr ordered her.Â
She was half poised to run, half poised to charge Aarid with the knife in her hands. But she didnât move. Her eyes flickered between her friends and her tormentors, unsure what to do.
âRun!â
âSheâs not going anywhere.â
âKai, please.â
âItâs you or him, darling.â Aarid said.
Altyrâs heart clenched inside his chest when he saw her turn the blade and place it against her own stomach.
âWhat are you doing?!â He shouted. âGo on, get out of here! Get back to Shira where youâll be safe!â
Kaidenâs eyes flitted between the knife tight against Altyrâs throat and the own knife in her hands, pressed against her stomach. She wavered, hesitating. Her hands trembled and her chest heaved.
A look of horror crossed over Altyrâs face and he could barely catch his breath. He shook his head.Â
âDonât do this! Iâll die, choose for him to kill me. Please.â He begged her. âNot you, please not you.â
"You and Rheld have done so much for me.â Kaiden started, voice shaking as much as her hands. âYou saved me and gave me a life when I thought mine was over. I owe you so much.â
âKai.â Altyrâs voice broke and he tried lurching himself into the knife, trying to make the decision for her, but Aarid wouldnât make it that easy. He pulled the knife away and then returned it, wrapping his arm tighter around Altyrâs chest to keep him in place.
âKai please. You canât do this.â
âI owe you everything.â She whispered. Then, taking a few deep breaths to gather her courage and strength, jerked the knife into her stomach with a quick motion.Â
The gasp that came out of her felt like the knife pierced Altyrâs own heart and he shouted.Â
Kaiden collapsed to her knees, holding tight to the knife and making sure to pull it as deep as she could inside her. A cry escaped her throat as the pain settled in and she grit her teeth together, using the last of her strength to jerk the knife out. It fell from her bloodied hands to fall upon the dirt.
âKai!â Altyr screamed, tears filling his eyes and rolling down his face. âNo!â
âI was just-just returning...the favor.â Kaiden managed to gasp before falling sideways to the ground, coming to a rest on her back. Her eyes started to lose focus and stared up at the sky, a tear slipping down her temple as she heard Altyr calling to her.
Blood soaked the ground underneath her and Aarid waited until he saw her chest stop moving. Then he let Altyr go.Â
The elf ran to Kaiden to collapse by her side, hands hovering over her would as the tears blurred his vision. He swept them away with the back of his arm and then gently scooped her up into his arms.Â
âNo, no, no. Come on, breathe. Open your eyes.â He begged her. âIt canât end, not like this. You werenât meant to do this. It was meant to be me. Why did you have to be so foolish?!â
Her limp body lay heavy in his arms and his shoulders shook as he held her close to his chest where she would be safe. Aarid would never touch her again.Â
Altyr looked up and saw his enemy was gone. The coward. He would be dealt with later. Right now he had to get Kaiden to the healer.
He stood and ran as fast as he was able to toward Shira. There was no time to spare. Kaiden was depending on him.Â
Rheld was there and saw him coming, running to meet him. At this time Altyr was almost ready to collapse.
âShe needs a healer!â Altyr said. âHelp me with her, please!â
Rheld took Kaiden into his arms, heart sinking low when he saw she was already gone. He looked up at his friend. âAltyr...â
âWhat are you standing there for?!â Altyr pulled on his arm. âGet her to the healer! We can still save her.â
âAltyr, sheâs gone.â Rheld said gently, fighting his own tears. âIâll take her to the healers, but to be prepared for a burial. Itâs too late.â
âYou-youâre wrong.â Altyr angrily swept away his tears, furiously shaking his head. âItâs not too late. She just needs the healer, please.â His voice cracked as the realization set in.Â
Deep down he knew, but ignored it because she couldnât be dead. He refused to believe it, couldnât believe it. He couldnât face the fact that he watched her kill herself for him, that he failed his promise to her that things would turn out all right. But Rheldâs confirmation broke though his facade, the wall he put up to protect himself, and it was too much.
Altyr turned and ran down the beach.Â
-
Hours later Rheld found his friend sitting by the waters edge, the tide coming up to lap at his feet before retreating. He silently sat before Altyr, setting a hand on his shoulder. Both their hearts were heavy with grief and for a while, neither of them spoke.
âI couldnât save her.â Altyr said at last, staring blankly out at the waves in the ocean. âShe killed herself to save me. I begged her not to, but I couldnât stop her.â
Rheld closed his eyes and inhaled a long breath to calm himself after hearing his words. They were more painful than he could have imagined.
âHow am I supposed to life with that fact?â
âI donât know.â Rheld whispered, longing for that answer himself.
âI feel empty. Iâm not sure I want this void in my heart to go away because then itâll hurt too much.â
Rheld wrapped an arm around Altyr and pulled him close.
âWeâll get through this. Together. And one day, Aarid will pay with his life. That I swear.â
So, my writing partner, @sorenfarwalker, and I decided to do something new. Each of us made a new character and then took turns writing the following drabble. We will be doing more drabbles like this in the future for this pair, because it was just too much fun to co-write it.
warnings: It includes breaking and entering, theft, implied torture and abuse, and is overall an angsty piece. My writing partner is a whump writer, and you all know I tend to lean heavily to angst. If we were expecting anything different from this, we were kidding ourselves.
This story does talk a bit about the death of a fictional character in passing, no details, no names, no context. Itâs just a little short story I did to practice the second person point of view.
âButâŚyouâre a hero?â The young villain struggled against their restraints, tugging more and more frantically. âYouâre a hero! You wouldnât- you wonât, you canât-â
âOh, I absolutely can.â The scientist stepped forward, the snap of their medical gloves too loud in the silent room. âWhen youâre a hero, everyone looks the other way. Other heroes, the government, even a few villains. How can they complain, when I bribe them all with slivers of my projectsâ powers?â
âYou canât steal powers, thatâs not possible-â
âYou seem very preoccupied with what I can and cannot do. I could argue, but instead, why I donât I just show you?â Their eyes glittered with amusement as they stepped forward.

They no longer remember what it was to see or hear. To smell or taste. There is touch, and there is nothing.
They crave it, when thereâs something soft like a hand or a blanket. A gentle pat on their head or the tug of their leash telling them where to go. Sometimes the floor is cold stone, or hard wood. Sometimes itâs soft, dense carpet.
They donât like when they feel the carpet pushing up between their fingers, because it means that pain is soon to come.
Theyâre sometimes left to wait on the carpet. They count the seconds by tapping their fingers. 600 taps, usually, is the longest they wait. It helps, usually, to keep them from crying.
It starts with someone turning their head this way and that. Touching their face. Itâs not gentle, not like the soft touches given other times. Rough hands, squeezing hard enough to cause pain.
But this isnât real pain. Not yet. Not until they feel sharp strikes that make their back burn, not until there are brutal blows that make their sides and chest ache. Sometimes there is a slow slicing, and that always seems to take the longest time, leaving hot blood and tears and sweat coursing down their skin.
But eventually, it always ends. They may be delirious with pain, unable to walk without strong hands holding them. They know theyâre safe, then. Thereâs only the burning sting of something in their wounds, the sudden and brutal pull of something re-aligned, and then, then, a bed, and a blanket, and water and pills, and sleep.
