At Wanxians first meeting, Wei Wuxian already revealed himself to be a top notch Cultivator (and I personally think this is how he got Lan Zhans attention!)

It is this scene:

They are carrying a man, whilst Jiang Chen believes he’s dead, Wei Wuxian knows he is not. 

But what does he see?

In Taoist Cultivation there is a special technique to see energies. Depending on the training and the cultivation method there are different types of energies one can see if the awareness is vast enough (in easier terms: it depends on the level of the Cultivator). Wei Wuxian can see if there is a flowing energy in ones body (as in all living things) or a stagnant or dead energy. He sees the energy of that man is still flowing, but it’s stagnant. Which reveals to him that this man is still living, but his energy is halted by Sorcery.

It again shows Wei Wuxians high Cultivation. He can even see the source of why this mans energy is halted. It is wicked Sorcery. He can’t put a name to it (and he probably doesn’t even bother to do so), but he knows the reason for the state the man is in. 

So he is able to not only see energies, he can distinguish the different energies and even find their source of the differences with just one look. 

Whilst it takes most Cultivators to touch that person, meditate on it or use different inquiry methods to find this truth, Wei Wuxian can just see it. 

But this isn’t innate talent, this takes a lot of practice. He definitely shows he’s a genius and I think that attracts Lan Zhan. Or at least Lan Zhans attention in that moment. 

I think this is why Lan Zhan stares at Wei Wuxian. He’s trying to find out if that was a lucky guess or if he really knows (despite the fact the he probably thinks Wei Wuxian is an absolute beauty).

I also think all the following events are carefully planned by Lan Zhan. 

I don’t see a clue in the series, but I personally think Lan Zhan checked on them leaving and also saw Wei Wuxian leaving to get the invitations. He waited till the guard shift changed and let the Jiangs in. He knew Wei Wuxian would go on search for them. 

I also think he tested Wei Wuxian with the gate. I mean, Lan Zhan knew Wei Wuxian would search for them and would eventually try to get into CR. WWX had the invitations with him, so it would have been easy if he would let someone guard the gate (and they said they change shift, so there should definitely be a guard!). But no, he left the gate with just a ban, and waited till WWX will just break that ban to get in. I’m sure Lan Zhan wanted to know if he can or if he’s just words. 

Breaking such gate bans aren’t the easiest thing. One gonna need to know a lot about Sorcery (and the use of Talismans) to be able to do so. Wei Wuxian proved himself that he’s easily capable of that. 

THE UNTAMED BTS

-before the band came on man in a movie was playing as the house music and the crowd all sang along really loudly

-all the members spoke in English at some point! Dowon and Wonpil both said they wanted to live in Australia for a few months

-jae said that it was the first time he had let his mind be this free during a concert-he said he wasn’t worrying about anything he was just playing and enjoying the music

-the crowd did so many fan chants! And sang all the songs!

-jae said that they were a little worried before the show that people wouldn’t sing along but they ended it being amazed by the audience, and he said that the crowd was wild

-youngk talked about how singing songs in another language is really hard, and congratulated mydays on learning the songs <3

-jae told us to sing congratulations, and the audience chose to sing it in Korean even though the set was supposed to have the English version

-in the last song, jae jumped into the mosh pit at the front and youngk went upstairs to the people sitting (me!!!)

-the fan project during I like you was so beautiful (everyone had a banner)
