Ah yes, there is your roommate's comforting voice again, pulling you back to reality. He heads to grab his mug and fills it with water, gulping it down in one go, "wanna talk about it?" 

You straightened your back with a silent huff, Baekhyun is nice and very welcoming, but you still haven't worked your way around your usual shyness whenever he's around. It's just that you weren't really good with new people in the first place but Baekhyun tried to make things comfortable for you from your first day there and up until the moment. 

"Were you crying?" Baekhyun sits quickly across from you, placing the apple on the table. "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry," Is what you uttered before full blown crying, tears streaming down your face uncontrollably. You can feel Baekhyun's stare on you before he rushes to your side, kneeling and immediately rubbing your back softly. You couldn't control the tears coming from your eyes, chest heaving from how hard you are crying. If on a normal day, you would've been embarrassed letting your roommate see you cry, well, today's not that day and you just let him console you, going as so far as Baekhyun laying your head on his shoulder until your sobs turned quiet.

"Shall we go get ice cream?" Baekhyun offers, smiling brightly. He stands up and offers a hand to you, an invitation for you to go with him. He looks expectant and you didn't really have the heart to say no and truth be told, you could use someone's company right now. So with a small smile, you reached for his hand and the smile on Baekhyun's face have never felt so rewarding.

Turns out, Baekhyun loves loves ice cream. The pure enjoyment on his face while choosing a flavor will be forever embedded in your mind, he looked so adorable, his smiling face lifting off some of the heavy feeling on your chest. 

"Do you want to talk about it?" Baekhyun asks not looking at you but on the road ahead. He'd proposed walking around on a nice evening like this while eating your ice creams, "you know you can talk to me about anything, right?" 

"Thank you for being so nice to me." You giggled when Baekhyun reacts dramatically, his hand on his chest as he gasps. "I guess I was just missing home, you know, the usual homesickness and stuff." 

Baekhyun leads you to a nearby playground, he points to the other swing as he sits on one and starts rocking himself back and forth. He's looking at you all this time, curiosity obvious in his eyes as he listens to you talk about all the things you miss back home. It's actually nice to let it all out, you noted, and for the first time since you moved here, you don't feel as heavy as you did. 

"So yeah, sorry for ugly crying on you a while ago," You said sheepishly, looking at the ground. 

"I don't mind," Baekhyun waves his hand dismissively, eyes crunching up and gosh, does he look cute. "I don't really know if I can help you with anything but I hope you enjoyed this mini ice cream trip...?" 

You snorts, "oh please, you letting me cry on your shoulder, buying me ice cream and listening to my rant is already a big help. I don't know what I'll be doing right now if you weren't there in the first place, Baekhyun."

"Baek," He utters, smiling at you softly. "Just call me Baek." 

It was the start of a really great friendship with him. Baekhyun is wonderful, he's funny and thoughtful, there are times he likes to lightly make fun of you but he never did anything that'd actually hurt your feelings. He's also a great support system, helping you out a lot whenever you're struggling. You might have or not have harbored a tiny weeny friendly crush on him, but that's something to be talked about later on. 

The trip to the ice cream shop has become some sort of a ritual for the both of you now, going in once in a week and trying out all the other flavors that you and Baekhyun haven't tried yet. The cashier would smile whenever he sees you two entering the shop, and there are occassions he'd ask his coworkers to give you both a free scoop. 

"You don't regret moving in here, do you?" 

"No," You mumbled, looking over to Baekhyun and grinning at the smile on his face. "I mean - at first yeah I did but then..." 

He pauses, waiting for you to finish what you were saying. "Then?" 

"I mean, you were there for me," Pushing away any feelings of embarrassment, you cleared your throat, looking anywhere but at Baekhyun. "It made everything easier, you know? I swore I would've bought a ticket back home if you didn't found me crying in the kitchen that time." 

"Well then," Baekhyun muses. "I'm glad you stayed." 

There's a feeling of warmth that makes your heart swell when Baekhyun turns to you and smiles, his eyes scrunching up adorably, tongue poking in between his lips when he catches you staring. 

It's when Baekhyun runs ahead of you, saying something about playing tag to burn off the calories that gives you the realization: this could be your new home.

“What are you doing here?” You whisper-yelled, looking around cautiously. It has become habit because well, after all, Mark is an idol. Any sort of rumors is a threat to his career and you’d loathe to be the cause of that.

He fiddles with his fingers, “...to talk to you, I guess?”

“You guess?”

“Fine.” He breathes deeply. “Can we talk, please Y/N?”

“I thought we were already over,” pursing your lips, you looked up to him to meet his eyes. They were a bit glossy and it took everything out of you to not take back what you said. “Remember what we talked over the phone?”

“That’s exactly what I don’t want to happen!” Mark exclaims, throwing his hands in the air out of frustration. He cards his hand through his hair, messily ruffling it in the process. “I know I was lacking a lot and it was really unfair for you, but...can we start all over again?”

“Are we really talking about this in the middle of the street?”

He lets out a big sigh, “fine. Can we go to your place then?”

The walk back to your place was excruciatingly painful, the awkwardness was so intense you’d actually thought of running in the opposite direction just to get away from the situation. Mark didn’t start a conversation either, so you just held on your plastic bag, looking at anywhere but him.

“I’m sorry,” Mark utters once you two have arrived in your place. It made you halt your movements. “And I know I’ve said this like a thousand times already but I realized how selfish I was. You went through a lot because of me and everything was really unfair for you Y/N, I’m sorry.”

Hearing him say those words made your walls crumble down a bit, happy memories of you two clouding your judgment. Removing him from your life was painful enough and now that he wants to come back again, your emotions are becoming a one big mess.

Sitting down on the seat across him, you started fiddling with your fingers. You know a big part of you wants him back as well but...are you willing to go through the pain all over again? It’s going to be a never ending cycle and you’re painfully aware of that.

“Mark I...I don’t know,” you started and Mark briefly looks up to you in surprise. “Isn’t this whole thing gonna hurt both of us more in the end?”

“That’s why I’d like to try again Y/N, I don’t want to hurt you more because I know you deserve better.” He states softly, standing up from his seat and kneeling down beside you to level your face with his. “I can’t promise that I’m going to be the perfect person to make you happy but I’ll do my best, okay?”

You couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed from the sudden turn of events, tears already forming in your eyes. Mark smiles a little and caresses the first tear away from your face, “I thought being an idol would give me everything that I ever needed but when you left...that’s when I realized I’ve been fooling myself all this time...”

“You’re such a big part of my life and I really can’t imagine continuing all of this if it weren’t for you. I know you were hurt a lot and that’s my fault but...will you please give me another chance?”

It won’t hurt to try again, right...?

“Okay,” you answered in a small voice. “On one condition.”

Mark’s smiling expression turned into that of a curious one, “what is it...?”

“Let’s do that date you promised me a long time ago.”

You love Chenle, that you can't deny. He's an absolute sweetheart and sunshine and he's the best boyfriend you could ever ask for, but beneath those smiles and sweet talks is an overprotective attitude. It doesn't help that Chenle gets jealous easily and sure, you may find it cute at times but it gets too much and it makes you annoyed.

"I'm just trying to protect you!"

Chenle's jealousy had taken over earlier that day. An old friend had approached you while you two were out and just like the old times, you were touchy with each other but there's no malice behind any of it. It was all friendly gestures and stuffs but when Chenle saw it, it was enough to drive him to jealousy and to cause a bit of a scene.

"Protect me from what?" You spat out, turning around. "I am capable of protecting myself, thank you very much."

"Stop being so childish," Chenle retaliates, crossing his arms as he watches you fix your things angrily. There isn't much that Chenle can do to ease your anger for now, so he decides it's best for him to step back and let you be as angry as you can.

Shocked, you pointed at yourself, "me? Childish? That's strong coming from someone who can't even keep their emotions in check."

"What?"

"You heard me."

He struts up to you, fire burning in his eyes. "Why don't you understand that I'm doing it for you?"

You scoff, "well then I'm not happy about it."

Chenle takes hold of you and spuns you around harshly, causing you to stumble in his arms. He has a death grip on your arm as he looks down on you, eyes narrowing from the closeness of your faces. "Just to remind you, he was a close friend," You uttered, using your free hand to shove his shoulder.

"Really? That's not how I saw it. Have you seen the way he looked at you?"

Something in you snapped. You broke free from his grasp and the next thing you know, you're walking out of the room but not before leaving a statement for Chenle.

"If you don't trust me at all, then what's the point of this relationship?"

You figured out a breath of fresh air would be nice to clear your head from all the thoughts, putting your phone on silent as you head out to the nearby park, seeking silence from the whirlwind of emotions you had to face a while ago.

Chenle is such a bubbly and joyful person, so to say that you were surprised from his sudden bouts of jealousy is an understatement. You tried your best to understand why he acts like that in the most specific times but no matter how hard you try to understand and explain that no, he doesn't have to worry about anything because it's only him you'll look at, it just wouldn't suffice.

You didn't really meant what you said earlier too, but it felt right at the moment to say so. If Chenle can't trust you enough to not get suspicious of anyone interacting with you, then there's no point in continuing everything. After all, trust is the basis of a relationship.

Letting out a big sigh, you stared across the horizon, heart empty and thoughts full of missing the old Chenle fills your mind as you closed your eyes, lying back on the grass.

"Hey Y/N."

"What?" You sat up, surprised from seeing Chenle sitting beside you. You're still in the park but Chenle has put an umbrella over you to protect you from the sunlight. "What are you doing here?" You asked a bit groggily.

Chenle fiddles with his fingers, "I don't know. I just felt like you'll be here so I went to check and here you are." He looks up to you, "are you alright?"

Chenle's voice is soft as he asks you and it makes your heart skip a beat, he looked so much like a child when he has that small pout on his face and it makes you smile unknowingly, you missed this. You missed him.

"Why are you smiling?"

"I missed you, you know."

His face scrunches up in confusion, mouth opening to interject but you beat him up to it, putting your hand on his arm.

"You know it'll always be you, right?" Chenle looks up in surprise. "I get jealous too when it comes to you but...i know you and I trust you, Chenle. Can't you do the same...?"

He takes in a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I just realized how childish I must've been these past few times, I was too unfair on you. It must've been hard dealing with me..."

This makes you chuckle, "it kinda was but you're worth it, I guess."

"I'll do better," Chenle utters quietly, looking into the distance. "I should've trusted you more, I'm sorry again."

Sure, dealing with feelings is hard; it's messy and sometimes ugly, but sitting there with Chenle beside you, his arms draped around you like a blanket of warmth reminds you of all the good times. It'll be tough but you know you'll grow together and as you lean your head on his shoulder, you just know that it'll always be worth it as long as it's Chenle.

"What about him?"

The older male shifts uncomfortably in his seat, "you see, he called earlier and turns out..." He coughs and looks at Sehun, as if asking for help. The younger raises his brow and lets out a big sigh, turning to you, "his release date got pushed back."

What.

"What?" You looked back and forth between the two, looking for any hint of joke but the seriousness of their faces gives it all away.

You felt a sinking feeling in your chest, it's as if all energy is drained out of you. You were very much looking forward to the day that Kyungsoo comes back because you missed him so much and then this happens? Slumping back in your own chair and trying not to cry anytime sooner, you glare bitterly at the surface of the desk in front of you.

"We're sorry Y/N," Minseok mutters.

Face palming, you sighed so deeply your entire body moved along. "We can't do anything about it, right?"

There's silence for a moment in the small meeting room, with you still trying to hold back the tears because it would be embarrassing to break down in front of your boyfriend's band mates so you held it in, not wanting to cause any scene. The sound of the chair scraping on the floor makes you look up, only to see Sehun and Minseok standing.

Sehun pulls Minseok along with him, "we're gonna get Kyungsoo hyung's manager to discuss things with you, is that alright?" You find yourself nodding, watching their backs as they left the room.

The moment the two left, you dropped your head on the table, entire body slumping forward and the first tears welled out of your eyes. The plan was, you're fetching Kyungsoo tomorrow with his parents, a bouquet in hand, ready to hug the living daylights out of him. His squishy cheeks, plump lips, his handsome grin, name it, you missed it all.

Mentally giving yourself a pep talk, you sat back, you've done this for months, a few more days won't hurt-

The lights went off.

You sat there, in the middle of a breakdown, alone in an empty meeting room, looking around wildly, trying to adjust your eyes to the darkness. What the hell. First, it was Kyungsoo's delayed release and now you're being haunted by a ghost? Fuck it.

Huffing out a breath, you turned your glare at the fluorescent lights above you, as if waiting for it to magically open. Seconds passed and your frustration grows even bigger, a loud sob ripping from your chest. You laid your head on the table as your composure broke down, tears continuously streaming on your face.

The thought of not seeing Kyungsoo for a while again breaks your heart, you've been longing to meet him again since your last visit, with Kyungsoo promising you that he'll meet you outside soon. It was a short moment, but Kyungsoo's soft smile had never failed to make your heart go haywire.

Maybe you were too busy crying that you didn't heard the door opening, but the next thing you knew, Kyungsoo's melancholic voice fills the room, his song 'That's Okay' blaring through the speakers. Out of nowhere, you see Chanyeol and Sehun pushing the man that you love - Kyungsoo - towards you, a bouquet in hand.

"W-what?" Standing up and moving away from him, you looked at him in disbelief, afraid that you're just having an all-too-realistic dream. "I-i thought...?"

"Are you...were you crying Y/N?" Kyungsoo asks, panic evident in his voice. He turns to Sehun and Minseok who both look guilty, trying to avoid eye contact with their bandmate. "What the hell did you say?"

It was Minseok who spoke up. "We said your release date got pushed back?"

Jongin's and Chanyeol's laugh first fills the room, followed by the chuckles of their managers who were all holding balloons in their hands. Kyungsoo shakes his head, coming closer to you, a small grin on his face. "Hi love."

"I hate you," You glared at him, crossing your arms and pouting a bit. "Was this really your plan? To surprise me?"

Kyungsoo's face turns a bit red as he looks down, scratching the back of his neck out of embarrassment. "Did it worked?"

You took the bouquet in his hands, "I should be the one getting you flowers, Soo." Grabbing his hand and holding it close to yours, you grinned widely, "welcome back, Soo. I missed you so much."

Kyungsoo pulls you closer to him, hugging you with you almost crying again because gosh, you missed his warmth so so much and to finally hug him again after months is such a surreal feeling. You buried your face in his neck, smiling against his skin.

The room went silent with the others watching the both of you exchange affection, "stop watching us, you creeps." Kyungsoo voices out, making you snort. He breaks free from your hold and turns around to face his bandmates, "you made Y/N cry,"

Sehun and Minseok laughs sheepishly, "we're sorry. We couldn't think of a better excuse."

"It's fine, don't worry." You gave them a thumbs up. "I appreciate you all for doing this with Soo, although it was a bit sloppy..." This earned a laugh from them. "But thank you for trying."

"What are we still doing here?" Chanyeol states, heading to the door. "Let's go and celebrate Kyungsoo's return!"

Kyungsoo pulls you softly towards him again, an arm wrapped your shoulders. You smiled up to him, "I love you, Soo."

He lands a peck on your forehead, "I love you too."
