Why does this particular time feel so much like Trees. Not silent anymore but actually asking can you find me? Hello, are you out there? Can you please, please find me? Softer at first and getting louder and louder and will there be an answer this time? And they're asking each other and as they search for each other they're both found.
And. And. Trees doesn't have an answer. There's no point in the whole song where someone answers, and there's no point in this version of Drag Path where you're found. At first glance, on the first listen, it's a call to nobody. Words that no one will hear.
But if you look closer, there is an answer to Trees. We are. We answer each other every show, every time we sing it together. And if you look even closer there is an answer to Drag Path. There's a million answers. There's the hidden version, the one that's faded back into obscurity after they released this one, where you can find the words. And there's them, and there's us.
Can you find me? I want to say hello. And there's each other, saying hello. Saying I'm looking for you, just be patient for a little longer, I'm on my way. There's us, keeping it alive, taking it to a million different places. Hello. You're found.
