When you hear an Interpol song, that’s me working as a vocalist to contribute to a composition Daniel has written by himself. And then he’s brought it to the band. And we all contribute music to it and that’s how Interpol writes. I say it’s his baby because he created the band, he found all the members to the band and the band played songs he introduced. He also runs behind-the-scenes of the band. He’s the strategist in business stuff. He’s a very talented guy in many facets. The songs I introduce go to Banks.

Hola!, ustedes saben que dice la el tatuaje de paul banks, es de Henry Miller?
Hola, estás en lo correcto, el tatuaje es una cita de Henry Miller, autor favorito del cantante. En concreto el tatuaje que Paul Banks tiene en las costillas dice lo siguiente: “Not wholly wrong, but deeply erring.”
El pasaje completo de Miller aparece en la obra Nexus (1959) y dice lo siguiente: “Accept me, O ancient ones, accept me as a penitent, one not wholly lost but deeply erring, a wanderer who from birth was made to stray from the sight of his brothers and sisters, his guides, his mentors, his comforters.”
El propio Banks admitió en una entrevista que dicho tatuaje tiene como motivación el reconocimiento de haber superado algunos errores cometidos y vivencias de su pasado.

The artist said about his artwork: "This one is in my top 5 most requested prints and is still one of my favorites after all these years. I remember being focused on creating an image that dealt with travel because I saw that as Interpol’s biggest theme at the time. The arrow is printed with 2 shades of metallic gold which would become a trademark of mine in the coming years. The images inside the arrow make a collage of vintage hotel advertisements. "
