I don't use bran as a substrate nor am I consistent with upkeep. My mealworms suffered a decline in the colony due to neglect but the super worms and dubias are doing ok so far.

There are many types of substrates that can be used to raise meal worms in.

I've started using oat hay that I've cut up a bit with scissors. I've used shredded paper before just cause and they did ok in that.

I've been having issues with pantry moths so I got this mini green house to see if it could help
