I saw this meme going around on twitter and I think it'll be perfect for this account.
List 5 topics you can talk on for an hour without preparing any material.
Easy
1) Hozierâs music and all the various sources that inspired him. Itâs literally poetry. All of it. Every single one.
2) the 1999 US Womenâs National Soccer Team and how they changed the entire trajectory of womenâs sports across the world. How the team and coaching staff worked to find accommodations for Michelle Akersâ chronic illness, Brandi Chastain ripping off her shirt causing so much scandal yet publicity. Ugh I love them. The only time Iâm patriotic and itâs about women.
3) the entire plot of Steven Universe. Bonus hour for how the different crystals of the characters align with real world crystal metaphysical properties.
4) the Sarah J Maas fan-made multiverse. I clarify the FAN MADE multiverse because Sarah is basically the Taylor Swift of the literary world. Sheâs the epitome of white feminist who hasnât show grown in understanding intersectionality of social issues, and has made some decisions that are in poor taste due to lack of education. HOWEVER the fans have taken the rich soil of her three series and crafted something much better than anything. Sarah is a master at creating complex characters (yes I will die on this hill. Her characters are so fleshed out that they are almost human in their inconsistencies. You can trace any mistakes they make to something from their past) so the fans found ways to plug all the plot holes.
5) the many ways Christianity stole and/or borrowed mythology from the rest of the world to create the prevalent religion it is today. Like yâall, Jesus mythology is just old Dionysus repackaged.
HA okay
1) Harry Potter. I could probably answer every single trivia question about it and explain the completely fan made universe surrounding his parents. (I do not support jkr or any transphobic views)
2) the queer undertones of supernatural. It might be the worst show ever but itâs so badly written that I could talk about the complexity of it for hours.
3) the incorporation of paganism into Christian traditions. Nearly every Christian holiday can be traced back to having pagan aspects.
4) how history is repeating itself now. Ie: the fall of the us empire when compared to Rome.
5) the effect (affect?) of colonization and industrialization on global societies and the environment
