A very good momma found in my home the other night π₯°
Mama's been busy! The top two have been there a bit and I believe at this point might be empty (saw an ant crawl into the top one) but the lower one is fresh from last night. I'm torn because mom stays tucked into the door track during the day so she's out of the way (yes I know it's a brown widow. No I am not scared of bites or her coming after my indoor cats) but now she's starting to put her kids into my walking path. Is it because she's doing great at pest control and now she wants me to babysit in return? Their egg sacs are just so cool!
Millie did not want to hold still for photos. In the second one, she looks like a question mark :3
Goodnight from my millipede π

Lots of very happy trumpets over here π₯°
The top pick is the second time I've seen this cactus flower. I was a little worried that it wasn't doing well after the move but I think it's bounced back.
I brought that little domino cactus home, maybe about a month ago and it immediately started to flower for me.
Found a really strange raccoon in the warehouse today.
I'm sorry if you're scared of spiders but this was such an exciting catch for me! I thought this was another grass spider but upon looking at the spinnerets and the eye configuration, I think this has got to be a wolf spider! Perhaps even a lady? She was quickly relocated after these pics, lest the cats use her as a toy. She was so sweet and calm β€οΈ
A few months ago I bought my first hoya. I went with a variegated Heuschkeliana because I liked the little leaves with a pink tint. It's proven fairly easy to care for (I use the same mindset as with succulents) and now it's about to flower for me!
Yesterday I came home from work to find that dear Doctor Turkleton had passed away. His circumstances had me wondering when this day would come. Back in around 2009, some friends called and mentioned they had bought a huge bag of crawdads for a boil and found a tiny turtle inside. They knew I loved reptiles and said I could come get him if I wanted. His shell fit neatly inside of the palm of my hand and he never grew any larger. Because of how I got him, I never knew how old he already was. We got 16 good years together though. This little guy has been all around the country with me, from Texas to Oregon, Oregon to Washington and back, then all the way to Florida. He loved to dig and shuffle around the pebbles and decor of his tank and I would joke that he was doing his "very important Doctor paperwork." I hope there are lots of tasty little shrimps for you to eat on the other side of the bridge, my tiny dude.

Orchid chillin'. My daily routine is to come out and count how many frogs have jammed themselves into the leaves and roots. On this day it was 5 with a record of 7.
King Bowser himself. He doesn't let me get very close but he has accidentally jumped into my hand twice now and doesn't want to admit that it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Also please know that his tail is actually very long and supple and not dinky and stumpy! (He lost it in a fight a month ago.) He is a very big boy. Probably about 4 inches without the tail. He's probably the longest living anole on the patio and definitely the king of the roost.
Just a golden hour girly πββοΈ I wish the ladies were as easy to identify as the males so I could name them too. She was very brave for this picture.
I was given this cactus a little over a year ago with no clue what kind it is. So when a little bud appeared about a week ago I got so excited! I have been stalking it all day and finally tonight it popped open! Still not sure what kind but the petals look so feathery at the ends. She's definitely feeling β¨ bonitaβ¨
Happy Pride!
