Alright let’s get something straight. A person does not have to be real to be important. The characters that we connect with and obsess over and cry about in media aren’t unimportant just because they are made up.

On that note, if somebody tells you that a character they have created is important to them and begins to experience intense emotions over this character, please don’t tell them that they’re weird and overemotional just because the character isn’t real. Clearly the character means something to them, and if their actions due to their connection to that character do not harm themselves or others, do not try to get rid of that character. Yes it may seem silly, strange, and even a bit concerning, but trying to rid them of that character is invalidating their emotions. Let people have their imaginary friends.

I’ve been having trouble with seeing with my mind’s eyes recently. More than usual. 

It’s troubling and annoying, because my intrusive thoughts have an easier time barging in and causing things to warp and confuse me. So I have to stay away, though it aches me to do so.

Trying to figure out ways around it though, and I’ve noticed that using a fake chat app helped when their voices aren’t clear enough. So I thought writing things out could help.

🌊Mermaids: emotional but a bit detached, calmed by solitude, acts naïve but knows everything, secretive about true feelings, good at reading people

🕊Angels: loves strawberries & literature, can’t stop admiring beautiful people, avoids conflict, blushes a lot when they get embarrassed, smiles easily, caring

the thing that’s weird about tumblr is that people in their mid 30s and 14 year olds are both on here and in the same spaces, and those adults aren’t taking into consideration the power dynamic that comes with age or thinking about how appropriate their interactions with those children are.
