people mix them up all the time, right? sometimes on accident, sometimes on purpose, and since the dog is a girl, grace gets used to hearing his name with those pronouns. "have you seen grace? oh yeah she's over there" and they're pointing at the dog who is next to eva but so is he.

"grace told me he— wait i mean she, wait, no. no it's he. right?" and the other person just shrugs.

soon, people start stumbling over pronouns when talking about human grace, and it's all fun and games — UNTIL he starts using them for himself without even realizing, before eventually something in his brain clicks, and he's like

"oh. oh no. oh no i don't have time for a gender crisis".

stratt, who has been watching this unfold since day 1 and may or may not have had a betting pool going, metaphorically strolls over and leads her to the fields of trans joy. which is really just stratt's room but they have a gender talk and it goes exactly as you think.
