FULL BIOGRAPHY
BRIEF BIO:
Sofia was basically local golden child growing up, as well as everyone's big sister. She did well in school, and traveled cross country to do her internship at Johns Hopkins and intended to come back to work somewhere in Seattle after getting that unique experience but she ended up staying through her residency as well.
The little group of interns she was paired with became incredibly close with one another. After a year working together, a few of them moved in together and became a little dysfunctional family. A couple of them ended up moving hospitals but staying roommates/besties, but Sofia and another one of the interns ( Mallory ) became inseparable. Mallory had no real family, bouncing around foster homes as a kid and becoming her social worker's favorite success story with her college/med school/internship achievements.Β
With some of the group split and some still thriving in their residencies at Hopkins, things were going great. Even when Mallory found out she was pregnant the first year of her residency, they became a little sitcom family all chipping in going to doctors appointments, and Sofia even delivered the baby. They cared for the baby ( in really the only way Sofia knew ) as if the kid had four parents, and everything was woohoo aww cute.
Sofia was working the ER one night when an accident came in. Three of the hospitals own residents and an infant were involved. Miraculously, the baby only had a few cuts, but the adults were all in critical condition, sending Sofia into a night of desperately trying all she could to save her best friends.
As it goes, attempts were unsuccessful, their injuries were too much. In the blink of an eye, Sofia lost all three of her closest friends, three people who had become her family. In the midst of her grief, Sofia was reminded that she was the baby, Emmaβs, legal guardian. A simple title given to Sofia over a year prior when she was born, one that she never imagined would come to fruition.
So now there Sofia is, suddenly raising a toddler on her own and managing her residency. It was then that she began the journey of transferring home, pulling a month at Seattle Pres before finally getting a spot at SGMW.

"No. I'm being serious. My daughter has just...for some reason...decided that I'm the enemy." He expressed, trying to laugh it off even if it actually caused him a lot of pain. "She's living at home still, but that's not like a problem. If she's not ready to move out I don't mind. What I do mind is her acting like she's better than everyone now that she's nineteen."
"I've heard they do that," Sofia spoke with raised brows. "I've got, um," pausing just for a second, because the word mine or any sort of terms that felt like Sofia was taking full posession of Delaney still felt so weird, "an eighteen month old, and she... the word no is a fan favorite, but it hasn't quite been used against me yet. The thought of it, though... the thought of it is terrifying. Even with her cute little face saying it, it's still a scary thought."
"I made a couple grand last night, so drinks are on me," Lili said, glancing over at the familiar face next to her. "And I won't take no for an answer, so just let the bartender know what you want," she insisted, waving the bartender over to them.
"Oh," raised eyebrows, then a smirk, "that's very kind of you." With her current drink in her hand, that she'd literally just been taking little sips of for way longer than she'd like to admit, Sofia scrunched her nose. "Even if I'm making the responsible switch to water for the night?"
"Right..." Anna pretended to know what her sister was talking about. Why wouldn't you want to talk about the first year you were actually practicing medicine? Though, of course, there were probably many mistakes made that year that they'd like to forget, but wasn't that the point of being interns? "I mean... they probably do. I know junior lawyers usually end up sidled with more of the paperwork and crap that the more senior lawyers don't really want to do. And then those lawyers pass it down to paralegals." Which made her question why she'd put in a few applications to become a paralegal, though she'd not heard back from any of them yet, anyway. "I suppose. It just sems like it might have the opposite effect on some people."
"It's pretty much the same system," Sofia confirmed, "interns take a lot of shit, but it's part of the growing and learning or whatever. You've got to start somewhere, even if it's not the peppiest happiest walking on a cloud somewhere." Nose scrunched, "it might not be. But I know as much about them as they know about being a surgical intern, which is the absolute bare basics. So eventually I'll figure out who responds best to what.. if they respond at all." Letting out a soft chuckle, "one of my interns got lost in the surgical waiting room the other day. I got called to come collect her. So there's that."
"You're lucky you're Sloan's kid," Jackson replied, shaking his head. Any other resident and he'd be putting them on scut for the foreseeable future. He wouldn't do that to Sofia, though, even if he thought she deserved it. "Elevator next time for sure."
"Am I?" Sofia asked, quirking an eyebrow. "'Cause he'd bully me and give me much more shit than you want to right now, I'm sure." And she was, she was very sure. Sofia's little shit attitude came from somewhere, and Mark was arguably the biggest source. "I'll hold the elevator doors for you, if I can, just in case there's any more stumbles and tumbles."

Her head tilted to the side at the word, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth. She certainly seemed like she was struggling a little bit, but Presley didn't want to pressure her into talking. "That makes sense. Avoiding people...and then I just kinda waltz right in here. Sorry about that." She glanced back and bit down on her bottom lip. "Oh wireless buds."
"Don't apologize," Sofia chuckled, "hoping for solitude and silence in this building is damn near impossible, so my expectations weren't too terribly high for that one." Sofia flashed Presley a genuine smile for a moment, just before hearing what they were looking for. "Well, shit," she huffed, dropping back down to floor level. "Search and rescue starts now, I suppose."
"Oh I'm sure you looked like a puppy. All interns do at some point. But I think you would have been a strong puppy. One that took initiative." He said with a strong nod of his head. It had been painful when Sofia had run off to intern at another hospital, having hoped that she would stick by Seattle. But he'd understood her need to spread her Goosey wings and make some waves on her own first. "Do they even...know their way around this hospital yet?" He said with a curious look over at his daughter. "Might want to start there with them."
"I don't know, I might've looked like a puppy but I had a pretty solid group of puppies with me. Vicious puppies, might I add. I wasn't as vicious, but between the five of us, we had substantially more common sense than those dweebs," Sofia giggled, shaking her head. "They sure don't, and it doesn't matter how many little tips or tricks I give them. I could navigate this place better than them when I still had all my baby teeth, so I'm really at a loss here." Leaning back, gritting her teeth together, "I don't know what I'm supposed to do once they start really doing stuff, and then their idiotic mistakes put my entire career at risk."
She'd missed two calls, not realizing the significance of the number that displayed on her phone screen. After a few minutes of helping her interns ( really actually helping teach them now, not being a bully anymore ) Sofia realized there was a voicemail. She listened to the first couple of words, realizing who was calling her, and immediately locked her phone before hustling toward the Daycare center. Practically busting into the door, Sofia looked around to find Lauren, catching her breath before finally speaking. "What's going on? I-I'm sorry I didn't answer, I don't have the number saved, and didn't realizeβ" pausing, realizing there was no real panic going on in the center itself. "β everything's okay?"
Carina was a single woman and she wanted to have a little bit of fun. She didn't mind the single life, it meant she could go out, find new people to hook up with, and enjoy a night out drinking without worrying about Maya. So when the other woman was stammering out her words, she looked at her curiously. "Why so glum, bella?" Carina asked, taking in her appearance. Everything about her seemed like she wasn't having a good time. "Are you sure you want to leave?" she asked. "Because I would love to buy you a drink."
"Iβ really?" Her cheeks were definitely turning red, completely caught off guard. Tucking hair behind her ear, "not glum, just.. a little.. aimless, I suppose." After a beat, she took a deep breath, knowing good and well that if Mallory was around, that she'd be practically screaming at Sofia if she didn't seize the opportunity before her. "I suppose I can stay, if you insist," she grinned, stepping back into the stool and waving her arm at the empty stool beside her. "Sofia, by the way."
It took all of Annabelle's willpower not to break into a fit of laughter at the image of someone getting their face smashed in the door because they weren't paying attention. Then again, she wondered if it was truly an accident or if Sofia had let the door slam shut even knowing someone was there, not that she would question the version of events told to her. "You sound like dad," Anna finally responded with a shake of the head. "Don't you all start off as interns? The way they're talked about around here kinda makes me glad I'm going into law instead."
Eyebrows raised, though they fell not long after. She certainly didn't sound like any of her mothers, that was for sure. While all of her parents might've been fantastic teachers, there was no denying that her three moms definitely had a more optimistic view when it came to the lost kitten interns. "We did," she nodded, laughing slightly, "but it's sort of like.. it's like fight club, where you just don't talk about your intern days once they're over." And Sofia certainly did not, especially given the recent events in her life. It was even harder thinking about those days now, now that her intern group and best friends were gone. "I'm sure the big, tough, old lawyers have their little jabs toward baby lawyers," she spoke, giving the least reassuring line she'd probably ever spoken. "Tough love's a good way to learn, you know?"

As he pulled himself back upright, Jackson turned and let out a soft, though irritated, sigh at Sofia's words. "Grandpa? Really? I'm not that old. I just missed a step." Though considering he'd been there the day Sofia was born and that had been so many years ago, he probably was more like a grandpa these days. "I think I'll make it okay now. Thanks for your concern."
"Okay, okay," Sofia's head nodded, a smirk still present on her features. She did double take at Jackson's movements, making sure that he actually was okay before continuing to give him shit. "Maybe the elevator next time?"
Amber stood in line in the cafeteria, a banana and ham sandwich in hand before she stepped up to pay, making sure to grab the bag of taki's beside the register before paying and making her way toward one of the tables. "This seat taken?"
Glancing up, not entirely expecting someone who was vaguely familiar in the that I see you a lot in the hallway at work and probably know your name but have never matched the name to the face way. Very common way to know someone at SGMW Hospital. Eyebrows raised, and Sofia nodded her head rather than speaking with a mouthful of apple. After a beat, she scrunched her nose, "only if you're here to ferociously people watch."
Ellis usually wasn't this clumsy, but at Target she needed to be in and out because otherwise she spent far too much money. When she heard a familiar voice, she immediately looked at their face and gasped. "Sofia?!" The girl wasn't directly related to her but considering how close Mark and Derek were, she had always considered Sofia part of her family. "I didn't know you became a magician since you made yourself reappear."
A bright smile blossomed on her face as Ellis damn near shouted in the middle of the store, which was quickly accompanied by an eye roll. "Listen," she huffed, "I was home on the important days, alright?" Calendar holidays ( the ones she was off on that year, of course ) were absolutely the only days of importance, right? "But I'm here here now, not leaving any time soon, I don't think." Grinning at Ellis, realizing how much she did miss her, "have you been doing okay?"
Mark glanced at the person sitting next to him and then glanced down the hallway at the group of interns that looked more lost than he thought should actually be possible. They'd been at the hospital for the last month and somehow still didn't know how to get from one section of the hospital to another, even with the signs and symbols meant to lead patients and families in the right direction. "Sometimes it's hard to understand and remember how hopeless interns are. And then the new group comes in and I'm reminded all over again."
Sofia nodded, letting out a long sigh. "Those're mine," she giggled, a little maniacal. "I thought about putting them in a box with free to a good home on it outside, but then I decided that the real problem here miiiight be me having that thought." Nose scrunched, she watched them work together on their charting. "I should probably be over there helping them, but the less I interfere, the better they seem to do. I surely don't remember looking that much like a lost puppy, and I thank the universe daily that none of you witnessed my intern days."
Sofia hadn't even been in the bar more than 45 minutes, nor had she had even close to enough to drink to get to that blurry, goofy feeling. She hadn't even planned on getting drunk, nor had she planned on staying at the bar. More or less, she was being told to go out and to have fun by herself. To not have to worry about Delaney for a night. But, as it turned out, she was one of those people who had a hard time not thinking about the child in question. Sofia was about to bail on the mission, to go home and pick Delaney up on the way, but that was stunted when she stood up and nearly slammed into someone, only just barely stopping beforehand. "I'm sorry," she quickly spat out, "I-I, um.." Trailing off, she shook her head, then gestured toward the stool, "I was just leaving, so you, ym, you're welcome to snag this seat. It's one of the few stools here that doesn't rock when you move and make you feel like you're going to fall flat on your ass."

She paused sharply hearing a voice and turned to look at the individual sitting on the floor. "I'm looking for a set of headphones that I'm almost positive I left here." She explained, a shrug from her shoulders accentuating her explanation. "You...are sitting on the floor though. Are you lost?"
"I wish I could get lost, trust in that," Sofia mumbled, "this hospital's etched into my brain so severely. Hence why I'm here and nowhere else. Nobody uses these rooms." Groaning softly, she rolled and sat upright, looking at Presley, "headphones? Or, like, wireless ear buds? I'll help you look, but need to determine the challenge level here."
Maya was absolutely not hiding from her wife. Absolutely not. Okay, now she was lying to herself. After transporting a patient here, she had looked around for Carina, sure that she was gonna finally start a conversation. And then she was hiding in the stairwell trying to think of what to say. She turned and saw Sofia there and chuckled a little, shrugging. "Hiding from my wife actually."
Sitting up slightly, Sofia raised her eyebrows. She was tired, everyone was familiar enough but still a stranger in some sense. Regardless, she was interested enough in some sort of drama that didn't impact her at all. "Woof," she spoke with a wrinkled nose. "Wanna talk about it? Nobody uses these stairs, there's like six elevators down the hall."
