Hey there! how are you? Itβs been a long time, huh? Iβve been well! Things are definitely still strange and hard with the pandemic, but in these past years Iβve been having some lovely experiences too :) In 2019 I got into college to study visual arts, and itβs been great! Sometimes challenging, but still brings me many changes and good experiences. Itβs a very different environment and routine than from my highschool, and that change has been really interesting to me :) Iβve also made great friends who are also into art :)! I guess whatβs been bothering me now is how to become a professional artist (in 2 years Iβm probably graduating), how to build my life in the world after college, how to be someone Iβm proud ofβ¦ And also how to help make the world better, make the changes to help the collectiveβ¦ all while Iβm one tiny person. I donβt know, i guess my difficulty is growing up into who I want to be, or even just growing up. Last year I became 20 and the world is in such a weird state right now, itβs difficult to see how will our futures be, and it can all be very scary, honestly. But even so, day by day we grow and keep going. Taking it one day at a time can help. Being with people who love me also makes me much happier! Oh, also Iβve been going to therapy, and it helps me so much. Itβs been really interesting to be able to better ellaborate whatβs on my mind. I hope this post isnβt getting too long for you, I just have 2 things more to say. One is that Iβve been posting a bit more on instagram (even though my pace there is also really slow ha), my username there is soft.batarte , if you want to see what Iβve been making :) (There is still a lot to post that Iβm procrastinating to djfsdfs). Finally, I came back to see tumblr after watching a video about it, and also after watching the movie 8th grade. It was strange and nostalgic to see parts of myself in the protagonist. And coming here I was afraid I would just cringe at myself from the past and that it would be a bad experience overall. BUT the first thing I saw were the messages I received and everyoneβs kindness, and it was so heartwarming! There are so many people here who inspire me, and I feel really lucky to be able to count on a embracing community here while growing up :) I felt happy visiting some of the blogs I used to visit before, and itβs great to see how everyone grows and takes different paths. It was also surprising to see the things I posted about when I was younger - I guess I really underestimate this girl, who had so many different feelings and thoughts. Maybe I do still need to be kinder to myself. So this post can sound quiiite cheesy, but I still felt like it would be nice to give yall a update on how Iβm doing, and to thak you for making good memories to 13, 15, 17β¦20 years old Soft :)
